I have the exact same issue when I watch the Twin Flowers. Youqin has indeed set the bar so high for a mature and loving ML that we can't help comparing him with others. The misunderstanding in the new show also annoyed me a bit as in TLS it could have been solved within less than an ep... Sorry for the rant. I was happy to find someone who shares the thought :D. Hope the story and character of the new show will make some progress soon.

That's so nice that you can binge-watch it. I watched it while it was still airing so the waiting time was quite painful lol. This is indeed the kind of drama that we can enjoy re-watching many times <3
How I've tried to get over the withdrawal symptom from this drama: searched for the past projects of the leads, found a old costume drama of LLD with an interesting plot, started to be engrossed in the new show, a scene with meteor shower popped up, reminded me of YQ, haiz how I missed the chemistry between LLD and CXX, went back to watch that meteor shower scene in TSL... Conclusion: don't think I can move on any time soon 😩
I was crying 42 Minutes continuously watching the last episodes , every scenes was emotional, even happy ones…
Absolutely agree with everything you pointed out. His performance makes me yearn to see more. I hope he keeps choosing good projects with refreshing and challenging roles like this. Honestly, the ending I hope for need not to be romantic hug etc. Yes them being human again instead of flowers…
I also want an ending that we can see the twin in person. The current ending is quite symbolic and beyond my taste. Interesting that you point out that YT never confesses directly. Probably because she was raised in a love-deprived environment and thus never learnt how to reciprocate love vocally. Hence, it would be a great character development and a beautiful ending if that was how the show ended. Hope that the director gets some inspirations from all these amazing ideas and produces an epilogue.
