I feel your pain. I also dropped that show after 6 eps for most of the same reasons. Unclear plot, the unnecessary…
I did not pay attention to all details so I will try to answer from my fragmented memories: - How did the both of them managed to be in a four year marriage especially when it was one sided & forced? He clearly showed that he didn’t like her but still stayed with her why? --> It seems that her father holds a high position (sth like a general at the border), could be a political marriage. But it's also mentioned that she does not have a good relationship with her dad, thus she cannot run away to her father's place. So how did she manage to convince her dad to let her marry him. No idea!
- When FL was about to jump off, she cursed the ML to live a life of nothing but despair like how she did throughout their marriage. As if she was the one that got forced to marry him, when really she forced him to marry her? Like come on now, girl you knew what you were getting yourself into. --> Maybe his constant coldness towards her and other events add up, and his second marriage and the misunderstanding of her stabbing the concubine are like the last straw drove her to that conclusion. These were not articulated and just my own mind connected the dots, so i am not sure if it's the right answer.
- The ML’s concubine seems to be trying to hurt/frame the FL with every chance she gets why? & what’s up with the ML’s fake marriage with his concubine? --> Indeed, it wasn't explained, but he must have a reason. I dont like this style of plot either. keeping so many important details in the dark.
- A lot of people seem to know the FL prior to her losing her memory, but who are them to her? (We were never given an introduction to them, it’s like we’re just automatically supposed to know their relationship & connection to her.) --> True. And my guess is that it comes with her secret identity. Maybe by revealing all the relationships, come the spoilers too.
- The FL has came a crossed the ML’s foes several times, but he has never warned her about them. Why? If not then, of course she’ll continue to have small talks with them. (She never picks up the red flags!) --> This bugs me a lot too. Like why why why he knows the concubine tries to harm the FL but does not alarm the FL. He thinks he can protect her 24/24? Haiz and yea she is not sharp. Another annoying detail.
I think due to the identity secrecy, the show proceeds that way. But I bet there must be a better execution for this kind of plot. I don't have the patience to sit through the whole show to see everything connecting in the end as there could be the risk that it's not done properly. Based on what we have seen so far, that risk seems high. So maybe it will be safer for me to wait until the show ends, check the reviews and then decide if I want to continue with it.
Okay y’all, so during my days off of here (the TSL page) I finally gave ROATF a shot. & the scene of when PXR…
I feel your pain. I also dropped that show after 6 eps for most of the same reasons. Unclear plot, the unnecessary misunderstanding (about him ordering people to punish her), but most importantly, I cannot stand the character of the ML (lack of empathy, rash decisions...). I seriously kept rooting for FL to run away from the ML. There may be profound character growth later on but YQ in TSL has spoiled me so much that I refuse to put up with such writing choice of character from the start. A third watch of TLS sounds like a good idea. At least you know for sure you wont be disappointed. I am also watching Nothing but you (2023), modern romance sport drama. Both leads (Leo Wu and Zhou Yu Tong) are quite calm and mature. ML is caring and attentive to details. FL is smart and considerate. I am watching it on and off though since I am not into sports drama. Also missing a bit of fantasy and twists and turns events. But in terms of acting and characters, I like that show.
I remember in a BTS he sang an English song while chatting with LLD. It was good and that’s where my desire to see him on a big international screen come from 😆 Not sure whether he can speak it fluently.
Happy birthday! I hope you will continue to shine on the small screens. Hope that you will make it to the bigger screens too (Holywood or Cannes maybe ). Most importantly, I wish you always have joy, love and supports in your ordinary life.
Lamu is someone I would want as a life partner. Kind to all beings, loyal and devoted to his one and only woman.Mei…
Lol me too. But judging on how fast he was about to undress YT after their first date, maybe he did go all the way with others. I doubt that he only got those garments as gifts 🕵️♀️
In the spirit of engaging the newest viewers here in the thread, let’s talk again about the shards of YQ. Which…
Lamu is someone I would want as a life partner. Kind to all beings, loyal and devoted to his one and only woman. Mei YQ is someone I would love to date. Mischievous and passionate about his career lol. Hope that he will at least agree to split the bill lol. Wenren is someone I tended to have a crush on. Romantic and artistic. But I won’t marry him as I dont want to find other women’ undergarments around the house 😅
