He did seal SL dad and her mom died outside after giving birth, but he didn't know this until the end, and he said he is sorry to SL and ask if she hates him? She said no, because if she were in his position, it will be the same decision, to save the world.

She decided not to lie. If she did it will protect Mofang, but also give him hope. Not lying means XZ wins, and XZ expected she will tell truth, because she is not one to play with feelings. But none of the men (except Furong) are happy.

SMY is wary of XZ because of his great powers can seal away people she cares about. She was almost sisters with SL mom and saw the tragedy of war 1000 years ago and afraid XZ will finish of her sister last bloodline SL.

Tbh his identity as Ancient God holds her back. She can't accept that he's XY because he's cannot be as carefree. His personality may be the same but no longer the same person. He is hard to read because he openly wants her to know he's the same guy and hoping she will treat him as Xingyun, but his status means he cannot tell nor love. Very conflicted man learning his feelings

He's jealous, but also wanted a different reaction from ShenLi. The way she's acting she's distancing herself from him all the time. He keeps crossing the line hoping for reactions that's not perfunctory

The engagement breaks because it's assumed she died in battle (the halfway point of the story). Then because Xing Zhi went crazy looking for her body, it becomes known he's mourning for her. For Ancient God to lose control, there is heavenly punishment (lightning), and he rebelled against it, and because of his emotions, part of the heavens collapsed...He spent months at sea searching, even froze the ocean. So basically it's very frowned upon for him to love, but who the heck can stop the most powerful man in the world??? That's why the part they keep saying, is not whether something is worth it, but rather are you willing? Because will creates a way :)

Me too, I love their slice of life in XYs yard, and this time at the fishing village, but he will be in love with her 💕 I want to see a tender loving XY feeding her and caring for her.

Drama definitely will show her in the chain as the fire seal, XZ coming to die with her (when she is chain and he is bleeding and sit down with her), and XZ coming back from death (if you see trailers, she hug a white hair XZ, that is his body after 1 year in Ice, his hair turn white), also the proposal (when he hug her from behind and say "I can give you a wedding attended by immortals"), these are all the ending scenes. My only wish is they won't rush it, like ending from so many Xianxia dramas. This pace is moving slow, and also 39 episode is not enough.

Mo fang is super sad ending in the book. He got turn into a monster, and he had to capture ShenLi. The last part of the story, the monsters trying to escape the Abyss, but because XingZhi made the seals from 5 elements, they made a plan to replace all the seals (water, earth, gold, wood), and last they need fire replacement, and that is ShenLi.

At the end, ShenLi fight with Fu Sheng and Mo Fang, but mo fang dies trying to save her. He said he is happy to die, because now he won't feel bad for betraying. ShenLi got imprison in the Abyss by the chains, and her dad is release, but he went outside to look for his love (her mom). Xingzhi fight his way inside to find her, and the final plan is, he will connect the Abyss to his home (the Tian wai tian/sky beyond) where no one live since he is the last God, and then he will collapse it with the spirit power from there, and destroy the Abyss and all the monsters. But since the elements are replaced, ShenLi will die. But Xingzhi came back when he is done connecting, to die with her, and he tells her she is his reason for living, and without her, he cannot imagine a life.

So when everything about to collapse, her dad met her master, and find out that ShenLi is his daughter, and wife is already dead 1000 years ago. So he rush back to the Abyss, and replace ShenLi as the fire seal, and save SL/XZ, but later XZ died, because too injured from the final battle.

Then 1 year pass, SL miss XZ everyday, and one day he come back, but without powers. His Ancient God friends use their last remaining powers (from the spirit tablet in the Tian wai tian), last energy to save his life. But now, the world have no more Ancient Gods forever. XZ and SL go move to the mortal realm, in Xingyun's house, and live happily ever after. The whole story start from Xingyun's yard, and end in Xingyun's yard. :)

I'm happy to answer! If you really don't mind spoilers, (gosh this thread s full of it, read at your risk). The "death" happens halfway through the story, so it's coming within 10-15 episodes. She's a phoenix so she doesn't die, but close to it. I think she's reborn, the story is unclear at this part, the bead in her activated and she "burns" up to ashes, but later she wakes up, but loses all her senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, sound). The story still ends happy, I hope that's a good answer for you, unless you want to know more.

Right now Xing Zhi senses Mo fang's energies, so he doesn't want him near ShenLi. But Shenli is also part monster, so maybe even worse energies than Mo Fang. XZ is observing how they act, evil or not. They are both weak to the "voice" in the abyss that keeps saying "kill kill kill, kill the heavens". In the trailer the part with the chains is a whole other villian plot, and the finale of the drama, do you still want to know? It's the ending, and if I spoil it, you wont be enjoying the end as much.

Oh boy I hope you still enjoy the drama after spoilers! I still dont know if drama will follow this kind of villain ending, because people like Mo Fang's character, and he gets a tragic ending in the novel.

Mo Fang is the son of the previous demon emperor (before Shen Muyue, SL's master), and that emperor was destroyed in the war 1000 years ago by Xing Zhi because he was trying to overthrow Heavens with his demon monsters that he created (super strong, nearly invincible, heals fast) So these monsters was forced into in the Abyss, sealed there by XingZhi, and Fu Sheng was one of the creations. Mo Fang is the "young master" or "prince" of the Abyss, and he feeds off Fu Sheng's powers (so hes human, but has demon monster powers). He infiltrated into the military as a Spy, but fell in love with ShenLi and has been conflicted about betraying her, but has no choice since he needs the power of the demons.

He keeps trying to save her, even when the monsters attack and killed a lot of people, including their General friends. ShenLi "died" fighting with Fu Sheng, who is trying to steal her fire phoenix bead (in the trailers, you see Mo Fang flying away with her, but a hand claws through her chest). ShenLi decides to die with them, and burns up with the power of her bead, incinerating Mofang and Fusheng.
