common in all Chinese dramas. all the filmed dramas go for review before can be aired. If have issues, they have to fix it first. This drama got fixed and submitted at least twice. Noticeably censored & cut regarding vampire theme, blood drinking, Japanese involvement (the Mu lihua and haidong army motivations), and then some censor on the relationship (not sure why, but its downplayed to familial love rather than fervent love).

What happened for GMP? I thought it followed the source material, and executed beautifully and emotionally.

YZ acted freaking fast, read the audience atmosphere, and pulled the actors out of his arse to film a 5 min episode the week before the scheduled ending. what a save

They added: the 3 families story, the stones, even the director has to play mr.mo. The scene SZH turns ML into a vampire, they censored the "bite", insert a scene of the blood stone. Other things I notice is sometimes the main characters have "fang bites" on their neck they never address, so I assume some situations got cut. They cut every scene Weilian sucks blood so the action parts seem rushed.
