I felt the same and then I slowly warmed up to them as the drama progressed ^^ Well mainly FL and Yong-sil, but others ended up being more tolerable too and had some good moments too.

My understanding is that they won’t charge a flat fee (or likely any if they lose) but would get a percentage of damages in cases they win for their clients. In big cases this sum can be hefty enough to easily finance them doing other small cases fully pro bono. But effectively the firm can’t be purely pro bono.

A Shop for Killers wouldn’t be so excellent without her wonderful performance. The uncle-niece relationship was what gave it a heart, and she was a huge part of that. 🫶

Yeah, as the other poster said, it’s not a really a trope, but a regression genre that’s really huge when it comes to webtoons.

I also found the music/score noticeably good! Really not often that it grabs my attention, but here it’s just as you said, it enhanced the scenes a lot and helped set the tone.

That’s actually the one part that I couldn’t quite explain to myself. Best theory so far is that he was making a spectacle on purpose because reporters where there and he didn’t want to go down quietly, but I’m not so sure… wondering if we’ll get some kind of explanation down the road or was that just how he rolls after being thrown from his pampered existence into the mud. But I agree… It was good the story didn’t linger on that part too much.

Yes ep1 felt toned down and bleak… in hindsight, probably on purpose because once we go to the past the contrast is wild 😁

In the span of two days he indirectly caused a young woman’s suicide and his mother’s death. I think he wasn’t quite in his right mind and decided to do it without calculating too much.

On the other hand he also lived a pampered privileged life for years so you can see from his raving mad reactions how out of touch he was and didn’t expect he could be dragged down so bad.

Ep1 was more of an intro and reflected the bleak corrupt existence of Lee Han Young, but ep2 really took off and was super exciting! I am now very much hyped for the rest of it. 🥳

Okay, compared to the calmer ep1, the second episode was on fire! 🔥🔥🔥 I hope I’ll be able to wait and binge the rest of it 😄

The first episode was cool! Slowly building it all up and introducing us to all the key characters for later. And I loved the soundtrack!
