Just rewatching this for about the fourth time - such melancholy. Although viewers get all het up about the ending, the show is really about the beginnings and endings of college and young adult life. Some beautiful, some terrible, some broken - look past the romance, guys. And the soundtrack - run right out and buy that!
So, I'm watching Revive and this fellow, Li Xiao, pops in three episodes from the end. And it's Mr. Beauty! Gosh, he's already made the rest of this show great.
While the main couple had great chemistry, Doc Non needed a little more regretful, "sorry!" time in his life. Still one of the better "twin" dramas out there. I really felt that Nadech Kugimiya was two different guys.
Surprisingly, this was the adaption that made me almost cry. I thought the drama seemed kind of clunky and not quite finished. This version was too crammed to include too much of the actual story but - I still in awe of Park Hae Jin as Yoo Jung. He just shows how broken this guy is and how the addition of Hong Seol will help him. It's not a perfect story but it is very good.
I'm still plowing through the earlier (now subbed) episodes that I originally watched raw and - for all the silliness, ep. 8 was pretty sad at the end. Qiu Yue had a quick flash of all the nice things that Chun Hua said about having a brother but - once you tell a girl that you've slept with her, you're obviously lying about being a brother to her. Too bad. I'm hoping things improve later on.
So, I have a question about ep. 13. When Tong Nian is passed out and Gun is going through her bag for her phone - he finds a folder with sticky notes on it. It says some thing like "strong team analysis" on it. He looks at it and then looks at her and puts it in the bag. One time I watched, the subtitles just read that he said "Cool." Another time, it read something like "Dose of Handsome." Neither seemed to make sense in context. I assumed it was for the game she created but could it be for something else? Anyone?
Not bad so far - the stories are quite interesting. Although, I could swear that Alex Lam would have turned out to be Rosina's mentor in disguise as a fake swami. Can't wait to watch more.
I'm enjoying this so far but the generated subtitles are a bit - clunky. For me, spending that few extra minutes rethinking, "what does this actually mean?" is taking some of the joy out of the show so far. Despite that, I like modern day dramas and I thought the "behind the scenes" of filming looked quite good. Now, time to wade through the next four episodes . . .
I've recapped episodes 1-9 if anyone is interested!https://odetodramas.com/drama-recaps/fall-in-love-2019-recaps/
thanks - these are very helpful. Not totally word for word but a clear storyline so that if the subs crap out - I can understand. I'm starting watching today!
A lot of thought went into this. I’m not sure if all the sub themes would make this work “as is” in a Korean film but I think many Korean directors could embrace the “hidden true identity “ concept. This kind of pain shows up in a lot of Korean films. Thanks for the article - I’m going to go hunt down some similar films now!
I feel like it will have a happy ending where the female forgives him for killing her entire family LOOOOL
“Mommy, how did you meet Daddy? “ “Well, son, after Daddy killed my whole family, I was very sad. Luckily, he didn’t tell me until much, much later. And his smile was all I really needed . . . “
