I was very surprised to find how humorous this film was considering it was about the death of the family patriarch and his week of funeral rituals. The Korean Film Archives has a wide variety of classic Korean films available with English subtitles on their You Tube channel - I recommend it.
Silly but - better than okay. I always heard terrible things about this movie but really, the worst part was Joo Won's bangs. I wasn't surprised to see it was based on a webtoon.
I read here somewhere that the ending is similar to Scarlet Heart Ryeo (Korean). I hated the ending for Scarlet…
Scarlet Heart Ryeo was patterned after the original Scarlet Heart but for some reason - no Season Two materialized. That's why SHR ends so poorly. In the original Scarlet Heart, the heroine is crying at a museum, realizing that all these dreams were actual memories, when someone steps up and hands her a handkerchief for her tears. It's the modern version of the 4th prince. Then Season Two is a kind of closure to all the first season stories - only in the modern Chinese business world. Remember, don't blame the actors for the producers fault. You'll just need to check out the fan fiction for SHR Season Two!
Okay, kind of a "slice of life" movie about a struggling writer and her family - and the guy she thinks is a vampire. What makes this a little confusing is that scenes from the script she is writing and her real life blend together. The voice of the vampire made me laugh. It's not bad but it's not the horror film it was pretending to be. I liked it but - I still have questions.
I really don't care about the "he's back - and not dead!" ending but I hate that the king and his fake queen are still alive and relatively happy. They both sucked in their family lives and - no retribution. WTF? Couldn't that plague have spread a little faster?
This is very funny but - Janie is still just too docile. Only once does she complain that she gives and gives and no one respects her wishes. I could have used a whole episode of Ken having to apologize.
For those who have read the novel or don't need subtitles, who is Sima Rong? The guy in the wheelchair? I'm going back and rewatching episodes that I probably fast forwarded before and I realize that I mixed him up with the guy with the fur-collared cloak who is Mo Qing's subordinate/medical guy.
Jiang Wu is one of the main antagonists in the novel alongside B*tch Su Ruo LOL Zhao Yao had heard that Qin Qian…
I think the flashbacks so far have not shown this although I'm pretty sure I've seen it in the clips. I must admit that I fast forwarded the unsubbed YouTube version but now I'm getting more details, I'm having to go back and watch again! Still good, subbed or unsubbed!
I'm watching ahead of the subtitles but the character Jiang Wu - the saucy red head bad guy - who is he? I read somewhere that he is a result of evil spirts but whose and why? I don't remember him in the portion of the book that I read.
