I just rewatched this and noticed it’s supposed to be based on a web novel “ who says the martial arts circle is good?” by Ziyue. Well, there’s nothing out there under this title. Does anyone recognize this novel? It sounds like a manga or web toon to me.
This is based on a very funny novel - I can’t wait! *** I just went and re-read what has been translated and I warn you - there are some very sad parts as well. I am hoping they handle this mix well. In the novel, there is a scene where the ML sees the Fl's study/bedroom and it's full of books, all dusted and orderly. Then he realizes how much the FL misses being able to see and read. As a reader myself, this brought tears to my eyes.
I like Victoria Song - she looks like she means it when she hugs or consoles people - but I never see any heat between her and her male lead. She's like his bestie or older sister the whole time! She's sweet but - that's it. Hmm. Well, a good time filler, I guess.

Really, this film and its predecessor, Come Drink with Me, could be made into Marvel-style superhero films. Such classic fights although Silver could have visited Golden Swallow a bit before he unleashed the martial arts world on her in a "Notice Me Senpai" moment.
I want to stress that while I enjoyed this show, I felt that HaHa He was a waste in this role. She looks very young (younger than she is!) and the lead looks older so (to me) the romance resembles one of those Chinese novels where an older guy basically waits for the female lead to grow up so he can marry her! Only - no waiting on this for this show! Every male was too old for her. Also, part of HaHa He's charm is her smile and they barely let her do that. So I'm not hating on any thing - just very bemused at some of the directorial choices. I did enjoy the later, very sad scenes where Yi Luo is fighting for her baby's life. A pretty yet confusing drama..
I’m sorry but the lead actress has the mannerisms of a 12-yr-old. I can only hope the director wanted that because I only see her as a student and not as his love interest. Every time someone says, “Introduce me to this young lady!” I have to look around to see who they are referring to!
