I am close to dropping this I love them both but this is getting nowhere.. I haven't even started it officially…
It is the same production company so it has so much of the same problems (some pretty new actors, iffy storyline) and joys (veteran actors, production values) of Tea Barb See Chompoo.
Whew, the comments are on fire for this show! I think that most of the questionable situations are probably traced back to whichever production company put together this hot, enjoyable mess!
Once again, I caught a few episodes of this show and marveled at how great the character of Pat is in both versions of this show. She’s the voice of reason!
While I enjoyed the fast paced "everyone here is crazy" vibe to this lakorn, it's seriously the only one where I wished the 67 yr old grandpa characters was a little younger so he could marry the FL. The Actual Male Lead was gross all the way through - a walking STD. I've watched plenty of lakorns so I understand the "but I can change" arc only this guy - he is so icky through and through that it would not be worth it. I do like dramas where people work and learn and surprisingly - this is one of those - and even the weird revenge plot is mostly about getting clients from your enemies. The male lead, though, just pulled this down and down.
It is pretty cute but unfortunately, kidnapping is still never the best idea. It's like they decided to smash together Bpoop Phaeh Saniwaat with Jam Loey Rak and a dash of Goblin and see what sticks!
He doesn't hate her - at the beginning, his heart is stone as he is determined to get revenge. However, he remembers his time with her and starts to thaw. Hence the name, "Man of Vengeance, Heart of Stone." She is pretty silly about allowing people to walk all over her!
Possibly because I watched a patched together version, I thought this film had much less power than it could have shown. The storyline of power and greed and sexuality compromising the young Jan Dara could have been very deep but it was actually too fleeting. I did love the OST, though. The sweeping score reminded me of sweeping Thai Dr. Zhivago.
