I watched Strange Tales S1 all in regular 4K (2160p) 25fps.
People seem only want to share the 4K (2160p) 60fps HDR version for S2. I was disgruntled that the whole drama series went from taking 40GB on my hard drive for S1 to 110GB for S2. I normally want my drama season to be in 4K (2160p) BUT between 40-60GB on my hard drive.
I never knew 60fps+HDR looked so good over 25fps. I'm glad ppl shared better quality episodes for S2. Because the S2 is WAY more higly rated than S1 on Douban, THAT alone makes the extra 70GB worth while (for +2X frame rate plus High Dynamic Range)!
Wow, the douban rating increases to 8.5, with number of raters passing 100K mark now!
It's good that S2 becoming so popular. For a while ppl stopped sharing the 4K episodes for downloading. More people interested in S2 means there's still plenty of time/sources for me to acquire the remaining episodes.
BTW, if you guys NOT watching this series in 4K (2160p) 60FPS HDR offline from your hard drive for smooth video playback experience (without the stutter/lags/delays associated with online streaming), you don't know what you're missing...

BTW, I haven't seen any Detective Dee movies yet/to this day, but the name alone sounds like the McDonald's of detective stories. The other thing I don't like about "Detective Dee"... That's a Cantonese name. In mandarin it's "Detective Di" like in Strange Tales subtitles.
Imagine if ppl walk around calling someone Jet Lee instead of Jet Li... bleh!

The movie is out with over 200 reviews. Apparently movie version Feng BaoBao got nerfed while they buffed up Zhang ChuLan meaning ZCL can easily beat up and overpower FBB in the movie!

Yeah, so get REAL!! As per Chinese Communist Party rule, a part two of this drama CANNOT be aired until 1 year later. Which means next Summer is the earliest you can watch the conclusion of this forgettable mediocre drama.
I have to say kudos to the casting. Each character in the S1 season of this show had a level of athleticism that makes you believe they can really fight.
Compare this to Fights Break Sphere S2 drama where Xun-Er appears as a wishy-washy weakling that can't do nothing but assume fancy poses while the CGI did most of the "fighting" for her. Whereas in the anime XunEr is really a hidden grandmaster assassin/fighter!
Even in the Legend of Shen Li, Zhao Lying fails to convince me she could do any form of Kungfu in real life. Her fights were rather very obvious wirefu/using body harnesses combined with fast forwarded slow motion fighting.
In other words Youku action oriented dramas appear more authentic than similar ones from Tencent!
It's the best imitation of Yang Guo + Xiao Long Nv I've seen to date (minus all the BAD parts like rape, etc).
They also made a live action drama aired a couple of years. I haven't seen it, I don't know how good or close to the anime it is. BUT I prefer Immortality over the original suckage Condor Returns by Jin Yong!
(P.S: You guys don't know how clever the author of Immortality is. Basically, there is no Guo Jing in this work. So author paired Yang Guo off with Huang Rong right away. Genius move! Then Huang Rong dies part way thru Season 1, which only leaves YG left to romance/bond with Xiao Long Nv. The lady in white you see in the first 10 seconds of the anime, that's Xiao Long Nv right there! Can also see monk with flying wheel in the OP intro sequence! Instead of Yang Guo ride giant Condor, he rides giant crane...)
How old is Feng BaoBao? Did the web comics ever revealed her age? This kind of immortal self-healing non-aging character must be a million years old when she met ZCL, or she was some fallen deity from the God realm...
