by the way just as a tip. if you don’t like the drama you don’t have to keep watching. if the fl is seriously way to annoying to you, you don’t have to keep forcing you. maybe learn to appreciate female leads the way u can appreciate male leads too.

i love this drama a lot ! gender swapping is always fun esp because here it is to show that you can be everything regardless of gender. i also don’t mind that she is a bit cheeky and cheerful, yeah it’s true normally you wouldn’t act like this but it brings in comedy. What i find more interesting is that they have such strong chemistry and no one else says anything loool. like they always seem so flirty, maybe because everyone thinks it’s just two men but it’s rather funny

there is no law but there is still pushback unfortunately. it is extremely hard to go mainstream with a queer story like that. i do agree that the censoring is homophobic, but it’s still a step in the right direction

I also don’t watch bl but not bc it’s bl just bc I prefer having at least one main character who is a woman/girl. It rlly just depends on preference. I hope you enjoy the drama

Hm it seems like we have very much different opinions. A full female cast is good bc u have never seen it before. I don’t watch bls but I can understand why someone would, if we can have hetero romance why not queer.

I don’t think I’ve watched a drama this year with an annoying female character, maybe you just are more sensitive when it comes to them?

Light shop was beautiful imo and had great story telling for such a short drama.

He tbh I think it really depends what u watch, a lot of dramas from 2010’s have those makjang scenes too but bc of the feeling of nostalgia it feels less awkward. To me the year 2016, 18 and 2024 had great kdramas.

Since in the recent years kdramas have been more and more popular internationally “westernisation” will happen. But to me it hasn’t become a problem in any drama I have watched. I’ve not watched a kdrama in the recent years thinking this doesn’t feel Korean but western.

What I enjoy with recent dramas is that they start to pick more on diversity, dramas like extraordinary attorney woo or light shop seem rather progressive in comparison to older kdramas.

They’re also still many kdramas that talk about Korea’s history and its culture like Jeong Nyeon the star is born, which was the first only main and support role female cast kdrama.
Maybe the typical romance department is lacking but they’re many more beautiful kdramas to see, it just depends on where you look.
