Title My Eternal Star Spoiler
What’s up with the zoom out of the main leads kissing scene 🙄
I don't believe it was a real kiss, one of them may have a no kissing clause in their contract.
On My Eternal Star Feb 23, 2023
It's not the worst I have seen, I can't say I would recommend this drama to myself :) after watching it.

I also dislike these African plots. Cdramas use this more often. If you want to show something bad show Africa,…
Yes, many countries only show the poor side of Africa, and how other nations are the saviors of their problems, this is often true of many underdeveloped regions of the world. I don't believe is limited to communist countries, my point is the motivation for the message is often with a different intention, I wouldn't dare say that is good either way.
One of the reason the west often sees only the poor side of Eastern, Europe, Africa, South America and parts of Asia, is the fact for decades charities and ministries would ask the public to fund for economic support to meet the need for food, hospitals, schools, and orphanages. There would be 30 -60 minute specials that would play on repeat at night or on the weekend. Koreans are only second to the United States sending missionaries and resources in many of the underdeveloped areas in these regions.
The only other time these places would be seen is on the news when a war broke out or in a movie focusing on such accounts.
I am from North America, but I live in Korea. My best friend is from Uganda here. I have had South African, Botswanan, Nigerian friends and roommates.
I think the biggest issue with is the lack of content exposure, and accessibility. It's not always easy or affordable to travel to some of these countries. I do think it will get better, though it might take 10-20 years. Youtube and other social media platforms are opening up many hidden and unseen sides of nations and their cultures. I also believe several places, especially in Africa will begin to emerge as global economic players just as Korea has in the last 30 years.
Korea 30-40 years ago was 3rd world country, it's not only grown in its technology, it's advancement in its own media has brought forth, it's rebranding as a poor nation that thats under the threat of N Korea.

The media that promotes: K-pop, Kdramas, K-movies, K-beauty, K-fashion, K-food have sold the world a new image of Korea. People now think of Fried Chicken and Kimchi, Squid Games or BTS before the Korean War. Really that is what need to happen in Africa and other places, self-promotion of culture. It is always better to tell people who you are over letting them talk about you while you have no voice.

Yes, many nations have a strong sense of nationalism and patriotism in many countries media, one thing that makes a communist country different from a republic or democratic- republic, is the source motivation. A communist gov't is the presiding director of the message is the political party in authority, who needs the people to follow a set vision, it's a tool for moving the publics' perspective into alignment, and they won't allow any outside views of criticism or values being presented that disagree with their vision,to the point of heavily punishing those who cross these lines.
I don't see the point in getting frustrated with any of it, there is some value in knowing the source and the intentions of the message bringer when watching something out of your own culture.

There is always a propaganda message in almost every Cdrama.
In reality, both politically and economically, China's has had its hands all over several African nations for years, especially with its Belt and Road initiatives. They have let over 100 billion dollars to nations on the continent . The message they want their countrymen and those outside of it, they're a savior of the worlds problems, when in reality they're stripping away, (especially poorer parts of Africa and Asia) their best land and resources, they do so while trapping these nations in a debt they will never be able to pay off for decades upon decades. It's a threat to the national sovereignty of these places.

I loved the first 2/3rds but then the story, it had me laughing out loud occasionally. The last 1/3rd of the story with the brother drama lowered the rating for me.

I am not a fan of second breakups usually they feel needless. I don't mind them, however if people are reasonable about talking things and resolving their problems without dragging things out petty and irrational expectations and assumptions and it leads to a healthier relationship.
I saw that they don't have a break up in the book, so my guess is this is more or less a way to keep the story engaging since it's only 2/3 of the way through by this point.

Worth watching? Someone suggested this drama on the i drama strangers again
I'm really enjoying it. Keep in mind the main plot is a "healing drama" so the central focus is on the leads resolving their own past flaws and traumas, which caused an unbalanced unstable relationship, how they work through those areas and find their way back to one another.

People are finding the subbing strange on YouHug Media on youtube, has an issue with uploading all of the episodes subbed.

...If you decide to watch it there and an episode is unsubbed for some reason, I did fins those episodes subbed on KissKh. Me

The concept was much better than I expected. The ending was disappointing... but that's probably because the CCP doesn't allow body swap dramas...they always have to be a dream.

I am in confusion, why are the so many cdramas that are 5-10 minutes long?
It's better to wait until they are completed and uploaded to youtube as a mini-drama.
The end result is 2-4 hour movie.

I've experienced a turn of events that left me in a position where I had to accept the kindness of others for a place to stay. I have also stayed in many airbnb homes with an owner. I have been a live in nanny and a household manager in the past.
Out of her 3 options, her choice is what I would make hands down. Living with people is not only about you, but the other person.
She is technically working for her housing and debt, so she is not taking advantage of someones kindness. A persons presence impacts the life of those you are staying with as much as your own. People can get tired of you even if it's your friend, they may over extend themselves out of guilt, the friendship can end up strained. It's not always the best scenario to live with a friend.

Her 2 friends offers are far from comfortable. SFL are parents are constantly screaming at each other. . The alternative option is to stay with a popular single male celebrity who's constantly under a microscope of the media and the fans. She is always worried about him being discovered and protecting his image when they are out in public. Living together is far from a "peace of mind" option.
She doesn't want to be a burden to her friends. She owes an insane amount of money, so living and working as a housekeeper while staying with the ML is a reasonable solution to solve two of her problems. I would do the exact same thing as the FML,

I just finished both part 1 and 2
It's a story within a story.
It's a bit strange, there isn't any really set up explaining EP 1.

Ep 1 Fiction- You're watching to lead in a rom-com comic book about a CEO in a wheelchair who falls in love with a girl he hit with his car. There are lots of gaps and illogical cliche moments.

Ep 2 This time the same FL appears as a comic book creator, she writes about a CEO in a wheelchair. He is a real person in her city, he isn't pleased she has made him her subject, so he plans to sue her.

In both parts, she ends up like her lead in the comic in a contract marriage. There isn't much else that is the same.
I am guessing this is why all the actors are different in the story. One is based on the fl imagination and the other is her reality.

I agree with others that the second part is much better in quality. I am not sure why they did as two stories. I would have released part 2 first and then showed part 1 as bonus.

in my opinion this drama has 38 episodes plus 1 bonus episode, that feels more like they forgot to add this storyline…
It was one of the best dramas I have seen in a long time. I agree it does feel like 38 plus a bonus episode. I would have loved a 40th episode, there was space within the story for it. I am guessing they may have had to make adjustments by editing it to fit the TV networks time slot.
