Who falls first? Ml or fl Imma start this hopes theres no love triangle
It's equal. Though the FL seems to step back for a spell until she lets herself fully like him. Yea, he is totally smitten, she confesses first. There isn't a love rival, but they both get jealous when they think there might be. She confesses at the end of 14.
What is it about Chinese writers and Directors feeling they need to do a 40 episode drama? What the actual fuck!…
The length of C-dramas is determined by the TV networks. There used to be a 40 EP standard, this required a lot of fluffing up, other times it meant the editors has to slice and dice. The government is shifting a lot of things right now and one of them is an emphasis on quality over quantity. The new regulations state dramas will not be allowed to extend past 40 EP. I believe they want to encourage shorted lengths when possible. I don't know when the regulations will come into play, but it should be in the near future.
Personally, I have loved every moment of the last 15 episodes. They seem to deal with problems pretty quickly, there isn't long drawn out confusion or misunderstandings, even when moments of jealousy pop upped today, it was handled in 30 minutes. Time will tell if the writer can keep the story going at the same pace as the back story with the ex is revealed and the ML's ability to resolve the issues with the hotel.
why does recent romcoms have so many episodes lately???
Chinese tv networks sometimes require a specific length for scheduling. They also milk some dramas for more ad coverage. The gov't recently made a rule drama can no longer be more than 40EP, but encouraged them to be shorter. There is an effort to no longer over inflated for the sake of quality, but it will take some time before we see the change. I suspect we're going to get some dramas with terrible editing until everything balances out.
OH! I don't know AX but I'll check her channel out I would be honored if she agrees for an interview
I hope you like her as much as I do. I would love an interview with her if she is willing. I think she brings some unique perspective to the table of C-dramas, being both Chinese and from the industry. She's been living in North America, she does a good job of bridging the cultural gap of understanding. Her channel has been around a few years, but it seems to be growing pretty quickly in recent months. I only found her 2-3 months ago. It seems like she has gained 15,000-20,000 of her 81,000 Sub (10 million views) in that time. I'm sure it won't be long before she crosses over the 100,000 mark.
I hated She Was Pretty and didnt like Pretty Li Hui Zhen very much but I feel like I will enjoy this japanese…
Yes I agree 100%. This is a sweet gem IMO. I don't understand why the rating is so low. I didn't care for the Kdrama version so much. FL annoyed me a good deal. Pretty Li Hui Zhen was insanely too long. It would have been a million times better if they simply reduced the number of episodes. I started to watch the Thai adaptation, but I don't know if I can endure the exaggerated characters.
This is great! Thanks for interviewing Dramaholic. Honestly, I would love to see more interviews with YouTubers who focus on Asian dramas. I never know who to check out, so usually, just end up discovering people as YT recommends them. I recently started following AvenueX for this reason. She worked in china's drama industry in the past so she has some unique insight. Her drama reviews and inside understanding of the entertainment industry have been absolutely fascinating to watch.
