Hmm, quite agree, I mean, it seems to me that there are a whole pile of other questions that Sat should have been…
well, yes, that is a perfectly logical hypothesis. I think the basic reason he has been propulsed through time, but into his 18-yr old body, and, to be honest, with an 18-yr old mind, is that he is meant to have the opportunity to see, and understand (!), the consequences of his actions as an 11-yr old boy., i.e., what he chose to do as an 11-yr old has led to him becoming the 18-yr he realises he is in the future. I presume (but I may be wrong...) that the aim will be for him to go back to his 11-yr old self and make different choices, choices that will value friendship with Choke over the superficial attractions of the "cool gang". After all, this kind of science fiction motif is all about playing out future possibilities and reacting to them so as to help make the right choices in the present.
I remember from some other science fiction film or series (but I cannot remember which one.... Dr. Who perhaps....) that, if you travel through time and come face to face with your past or future self, some cataclysmic explosion will take place that will destroy both of you. Obviously, this has to be avoided......(haha). It is not easy, of course, to reconcile these different interpretations. The only thing I can say is that this interpretation apparently mirrors the plot of the American film "13 going on 30" that this episode is supposed to be based on.
It was Choke's Phone and reading the messages, Sat got worried. This is what I got from one of the comments on…
@ChrisVZZ Well, actually, I have never seen this Amercian film, so I am only relying on the comments from other people and what I read on Wikipedia. Otherwise, I am quite liking Y-Destiny on the whole. The only story that annoyed me slightly was the very first, because it just jumped around and did a 180 turn, without any kind of reasonable development or transition. But, as usual, I have soldered on and am glad I did Otherwise, these stories are all different takes on new (first?)-love stories, including the more physical and steamier sides of love.... Some of the actors are really quite good, some of the flirting or smooching scenes are really quite hot, and what seemed to start out as a somewhat formulaic series (eps. 1-4) has evolved, has ventured into different kinds of contexts and areas, and has improved in continuity (although I must say that this Sat/Choke story is not the most coherent or consistent of them all so far.... but the actors are cute and the interaction is all lovely, fluffy and quite steamy, so......)
I guess this means I'm old now xD this episode was heavily, HEAVILY inspired by the American movie 13 Going On…
wow, thanks for that clarification, but still weird for me. I mean, it would almost suggest that they both knew the film and had seen it in English, and were deliberately reciting the same lines from the film..... talk about a film in a film in a film.....
I mean, look, he's only 11 and time/body transfers are probably new to him, but before he started fiddling with…
Hmm, quite agree, I mean, it seems to me that there are a whole pile of other questions that Sat should have been asking since the beginning. I mean, if you had just been propulsed 7 years through time, wouldn't you have a whole pile of other questions to deal with? Other than just seeking out an old friend from school, whom you had just rejected, and saying that you have come to him for reminding. But hey, these are all BL love stories, and any real, in-depth investigation of what has just happened in (imagined) reality and what it means would get in the way of the love story....

Well, I have just read the plot of the American film "13 Going on 30", upon which this Y-destiny episode seems to be extensively based, and given the role of the head of the cool gang (of girls) in the film, it is quite likely that Top is quite involved in the further development of this story. We shall see....... :-)

It is sometimes said that the whole history of literature, etc. is constructed around a few basic stories recycled and rewritten in different contexts and circumstances. Supposedly, there is nothing new under the sun, but with different characters, different settings, different cultural influences, it all seems like a new story. And, of course, it is always nice to see how a gay version pans out...... love is love is love......
It was Choke's Phone and reading the messages, Sat got worried. This is what I got from one of the comments on…
Is it possible that the messages came from Top? At one point in the bar Top seems to flirt (seriously or not, I am not sure) with Sat. And when Sat later notices that Choke also keeps pictures of Top, Choke replies that he always keeps pictures of his friends.... So Top is also a friend of Choke's (which clearly was not the case when they were kids and Sat was eager to play football with the cool gang....)? I am just thinking out loud here, but there seems to be a lot more than meets the eye after the first episode....
OK, so I don't know if I missed something either at the beginning of ep. 11 or down the line, but...... why exactly are they speaking half in English and half in Thai ??? And what is this supposed to add?
I mean, is there something in their background as characters that explains this ? Or is it a way of suggesting that they are in some parallel universe, as I have seen a few people surmising? Or does one naturally end up speaking English after a traumatic accident and after being propulsed 7 years through time ?
SatChoke couple is pretty adorable, I like their chemistry. I’m a bit confused with the plot and how things…
He seems to alternate between the 11-year old kid he was before the accident and the 18-year guy he has become, between the lascivious and dissolute "cool guy" he became during these 7 years and the pure kid he probably was and would like to be again. Quite a few different people in one guy...... not easy to establish a basic coherence in all that...
Does anybody know what the text said which Sat received while sleeping?
if you scroll down the comments on YouTube, someone has translated the text messages (I don't want to just copy them, as they are not mine..... but you should find them easily enough).
Btw, can someone confirm that it was Choke's phone that Sat picked up when he was in bed ?
Well, I have just finished the final episode, and I am overwhelmed. I can understand how some people felt this was a little too short, but I cannot understand how more people do not know about this series or why it has not been promoted more and is not acknowledged more as the absolutely beautiful (little..) jewel that it is... Very much agree with the longer reviews posted by Solipisism5 and Flypsyde below., so I shall not repeat it all. I am gobsmacked!!
I have just watched episodes 4 & 5, before going on to episode 6. Can anyone please explain what happened to Tong Fah at the end of episode 4? Did he have an accident? Was it a suicide attempt? Or what? I am a little surprised that this is never made explicit during episode 5.... Many thanks in advance for any clarification....
Well, having waited soooooo long for a subbed version of episode 2 to come out, I am no longer sure i can even remember what the story was about in the first place...... Not sure I can make the effort to go back and "revise"...... we'll see....
I really love this show. It’s one of my favorite BL’s of all time. There might be many more ITSAY’s in the…
Loved your review.... Although there are a few traditional BL tropes, I think this stands out as a series about gay youth, dealing seriously and sensitively with the issues (without eschewing some humour, of course...). And that is to be lauded. I don't think you mentioned the posters for "Call me by your Name" or "The Way He Looks"...... haha, just to show that I noticed them, too.

Anyone got the key to this one? Anyone? :-)
