I don’t understand the hate for Yumo. Maybe it’s just me but Yumo is far better compared to other SML. We can only have too many villains and not enough people to protect our YD. He’s one of the few ones that’s willing to protect her at all cost without expecting anything in return. Of course maybe he doesn’t let YD out of his sight most of the times but I wouldn’t call that obsession. I see it as strict and for her safety due to the past.
When someone loses a close friend or love one, it’s only reasonable that one fears the loss of that person once again after being reborn. In this case, let’s also not forget to sympathize with Yumo who grew up only knowing Yan Dan as his only friend and also losing her afterwards. As he’d said before, he only wished to see her living happily and carefree in the mortal realm. It’ll take him time to understand that YD can independently protect herself too. Yumo is basically a replica of Tian Qi from ALP.
Fun fact: The last time I heard a name similar to Yan Dan was Ice Fantasy SFL Yan Da. It’s so cool too because the SML’s name was Ying Kongshi with the Ying as our Ying Yuan.
I’m really trying so hard to continue but I just can’t. I know xianxias are slow in the beginning but this one feels more boring than usual in the beginning. I love xianxias and don’t want to miss any! I’m sure this is a hidden gem, but I need someone to convince me to keep continuing!
Will be watching this drama after all episodes are out instead. Waiting for IS upcoming episodes to air is already hard enough, won’t be making the same mistake again 😭 Hoping to see Xu Kai’s character soon!

I don’t blame you. I loved this drama simply because I watched it when it wasn’t super overrated so there weren’t any high expectations from me. I ended up enjoying it. Different circumstances will certainly result in different outcomes.
Tangzhou’s dream of seeing Yandan saying he owes her with blood pouring out of her heart gives me a deja vu of Yandan’s dream in the Heavenly realm when YY came to her as a ghost in her dream saying she cursed him. This is just way too funny. Both dreams had a creepy and horror vibe to it, kinda creeped me out a little. Such good acting 🤣
