I think I’m the only person here who not only understands YY and why he did what he did, but I even respect…
No seriously, YY has to be one of the best ML ever in this no win situation. Worst part is he couldn’t even tell Yandan his true feelings and he’s so good with expressing his emotions through his eyes. I sympathized with him since he has so much responsibilities on his shoulders and still managed to break the stupid heavenly rule of love to save Yandan.
Imagine thinking the person you loved made it through the river and then 900 years later you find out she’s still there not willing to let go. This is just too heartbreaking. I wouldn’t be surprised if Yandan still hates Yingyuan once she regains her memories after the mortal arc. So much angst but didn’t expect it so soon.
Also was wondering if Yumo actually named her Yandan in the mortal realm? No way it’s a coincidence of the same name unless it’s Yumo or Luming naming her.
I can't why they got to do Yu Mo like that whoever thought of those bangs are evil they did him dirty. Yan Dan,…
I honestly think they purposely did that to make him look innocent. To me he does look more innocent with the bangs compared to his later appearance in the mortal arc.
This drama has been on my watchlist for months and the only thing stopping me is the reviews telling that FL is…
I finished this drama despite not liking the FL. Tbh I thought the FL was dumb and too easily manipulative that you can clearly see that the ML’s love is greater than hers. She may be powerful but her brain had no development that it made me frustrated most of the times. I waited for her sufferings for treating the ML like the enemy but it never came which is whyyy it makes me most unsatisfied with the drama. But nevertheless, try watching a few episodes to see if it’s your cup of tea. I only finished it for the ML and the unique backstory. Honest and unbiased rating, I’d say a 7/10 as acting, storyline, and osts were good. Only thing I didn’t like was the cringey CGI here and there, how it took so long for the FL to realize that the ML was innocent despite everyone against him, and a bunch of misunderstandings.
Y’all I’m on episode 18 what episode does houcchi get her powers back and realizes that her is actually Shan…
Houchi won’t get her powers as Shanggu until towards the end of the drama. She will have extreme powers using the bracelet but that’s only temporary. Houchi doesn’t acknowledge herself as Shanggu and it’s better for you to find out why by watching than me spoiling you this. It’s rather heartbreaking. Enjoy!
With so much suffering from both of the leads, I hope it’s a happy ending or else all my sufferings and staying up late to watch this will be in vain 🥲
Yan Dan reminds me of Shanggu from ALP. Sweet, funny, playful, takes advantage of their puppy faces and croc tears but clever, brave, and stands up for themselves and what’s right. But seriously can we appreciate how flawless all the characters makeup and costumes are? So elegantly simple but so stunning!
Bing all the 63 episodes n 4 days. Earlier I avoided the drama because of the many episodes. Now after watching…
Glad to hear that as I love AOL too! FL has a new ongoing drama called Immortal Samsara. Just thought you might wanna check it out as it’s a highly anticipated xianxia drama and with the same FL and some casts from AOL in that drama.
I almost choked myself when I found out this came out yesterday, out of no where. They dropped it like a bomb!…
Omg yes I definitely see the similarities. Especially when both dramas starts off in chronological order unfolding as it goes and then boom tragedy hits you so suddenly in the early episodes lol
Going to wait until all episodes are out but the comments and clips are so tempting! Can’t wait to watch but at the same time I don’t have the patience to keep waiting two episodes per day 🥲
Dropped at episode 17 i’m not sure why but this drama just could not hook me maybe it’s because I just finished…
I watched up to half of the episodes of The Long Ballad and dropped it, couldn’t finished it. Although I’ve finished Princess Agents and loved it in terms of historical genre relating to The Long Ballad. But I definitely loved this one. It’s maybe not your cup of tea as ALP and TLB are very different in terms of genre. However if you’ve enjoyed other xianxias drama before then I’d say to definitely keep continuing to see if the second arc of the story gets better for you. Xianxias always tend to be slow at first. Then gets better as the story unfolds.
Keep in mind that you probably didn’t enjoy ALP because you just finished TLB, so the transition sets it harder for you to enjoy the next drama. Just a thought. The leads are superb here in their acting and the plot is just as complicated as other xianxias out there. But feel free to stop watching whenever.
Debating if I should watch this drama or not. I love Xu Kai as he always brings his characters to life and most of his dramas he’s acted so well in. However heard that the FL lacks in acting wise. Should I give it a try? Is it worth it?
Starting off a really promising romance, the story gradually got bogged down in misunderstandings and thereby…
I agree. Even though they tried to write the FL as a strong character but her character doesn’t live up to it’s name. The misunderstandings and lack of evidence and trust she had in the ML lost me during the middle part of the story. A strong and smart female character that’s been portrayed very well with character development would have to be the leads from Princess Agents and Legend of Fuyao so far. Of course there’s many more stong leads but those two has got to be the only ones who’ve caught my eye so far. I have such high expectations for strong female lead characters that LAR couldn’t portray sadly.
Is the FL going to act childish and talk like this the whole drama? As far as I'm aware no 16 year old act like…
No she’ll become more mature but just when you think you’re done being frustrated with her childish acts, you’re going to start being frustrated of the lack of trust and misunderstandings that she has towards the ML. I’d say the love here isn’t as strong to the point where both will die for each other during the journey, on the other hand the ML sacrifices everything for her.
I'm at 9th episode and I'm already angry in how heavenly lord behave up the spirit snake and second prince, the…
Continue watching because you’ll feel all sorts of emotions not just hate and anger. It’s truly a rollercoaster of emotions so bear with it and it might just become one of your favorites if you’re into xianxia dramas!
Also was wondering if Yumo actually named her Yandan in the mortal realm? No way it’s a coincidence of the same name unless it’s Yumo or Luming naming her.
