I personally love ALP too, it’s also on par with TMOPB and AOL but in terms of classic xianxia, TMOPB is top notched. ALP was an amazing watch after those two hit dramas.
The show would’ve been a big hit for me if there wasn’t so many misunderstandings and repetitive sacrifices to the point where the sacrifices doesn’t even make me feel emotional anymore, it’s more of, “Here we go again, another scene of Si Feng suffering” LOL. I really wanted to love this show as I love xianxia dramas but no, their love wasn’t strong enough to keep me interested but made me frustrated. It’s more of the ML simping for FL no matter what she puts him through. Sorry Si Feng but you deserve better :/

Everyone has their own different ending expectations. Expectations and satisfactions are two different meanings lol. I was addressing this commentor above about skipping because of your response hence why I said the drama is worth watching despite the commentor’s expectations of the drama’s ending. That’s how her character is portrayed in the beginning—innocent and childish. It really just depends on you if you’re willing to give the FL a chance to process through her character development. Just finished watching and this tops AOL, TMOPB, and LAR for me. My new favorite drama, I love the storyline, acting, ost, and CGI. It was a little slow in the beginning but oh boy, I went passed episode 10 and I went through an emotional rollercoaster throughout the three realms LOL! These characters sacrifice themselves to save others but instead caused more problems, how would the storyline process without these misunderstandings and sacrifices right? I thought this was tolerable and wasn’t as bad compared to AOL and LAR lol
This drama had a good balance of romance, action, and mystery. I’m so glad it’s not one of those ongoing misunderstandings between FL and ML. Their love is so strong it kept me going til the very end. Love it!!

Yes! What I've been thinking this whole time, it's a really unhealthy relationship especially for the ML. I like this drama but the countless misunderstandings and repetiveness of the ML's sacrifices and FL's character lack of common sense even almost to the end... it ended up making me so frustrated LOL. I thought the ML was dumb to sacrifice so much for the FL when she doesn't deserve him. FL didn't really develop any character development except her powers. But I somehow still enjoyed watching this but just super frustrated LOL
