That’s my only frustration with this drama, and several other dramas actually, she’s strong until she’s not, she’s smart until she’s not, she’s brave until she’s not, that’s an inconsistency I hate! Actually in the novel, she pretty much remains the same, she dealt with that mother-daughter pair of ingrates pretty much quickly.

Zitan is just delusional at this point. He really thinks that getting rid of Xiao Qi will give him another chance at A’Wu, but she’s moved on long long ago, she left him in the past. The worst of it all is that the only motivation he has to become Emperor is because he wants the power to have A’Wu again...so I get why A’Wu quickly got over him...he’s a spineless, obsessive and clingy man, while Xiao Qi gives A’Wu space when she needs it, and holds her when she needs it.
