I think the writers really need to know what is modern and what is ancient. You can write a period setting comedy and made it funny but you need to know what is the way of life in the ancient times and how they live and their speech patterns. Its a disaster to think you can drop a modern humour into ancient period just by changing some salutations and it would be OK? Don't be lazy, do a bit of homework please.
I finished this drama with 2x speed. Although i like the relationship of husband and wife, but the story wise…
Yep I agree.. if its a modern drama I would find it entertaining.. but the setting is old period and their behaviour of the FL and 2nd FL are a little ridiculous... and made it rather irritating instead of entertaining.
Apparently it was a team of six writers and it was their debut in this genre or something. One of them apologized…
Ahhhh That explains it! Too Many cook spoilt the soup. They should have a senior leading the team and responsible of pulling the ideas together, an editor of sorts. What a shame.
Can someone tell me how it ended I dropped this long ago and the comments make me curious 😂 PLS TELL ME
One of the worst ending in drama history.. so you didn't miss much. Just as well you had stopped earlier, and please feel sorry for those of us who actually put up with the crappy last few episodes and to be given the worst ending there is made me want to go.. I WANT MY LIFE BACK!!!
I have the same sentiment as you with regards to the last four episodes, I endured longer perhaps because I fast-forwarded a lot of scenes that I deemed really 'stupid' by episode 30 I just had enough... and final episode left me feeling like WTH just happened?
It was entertaining and quite different from all other period dramas. The leads chemistry were great and story was fine, and I love the acting. Then towards the ending things started to come undone around episode 30 and the final episode is just the terrible. Because of the last couple of episodes I will give it a 7/10 rating instead of 8.3/10
1. The feast itself. The food segments make me hungry all the time 2. The Ming Dynasty costumes simply amazing! Even though they borrowed some elements from the Korean's period dress code. 3. Xu Kai, sooooo ridiculously handsome. Even though his acting is still very much lacking. BUT SUCH a great looking poseur!
The grandeur and cinematic visual will overshadow the acting or lack of it of the ML and FL in the drama... so I will just ignore the acting and just watch the drama for this fab elements.
but its not though.. there another villain behind the whole scene plotting everything and seem like yuan luan…
Don't tell me its the family ML took down .. but the writer should know that its a Royal Edict! nothing to do with ML.. anyway.. dying to find out who is behind all the attacks.
For all its worth. I decided I will quite while I still like the drama at Ep30. I have a feeling in my bone that it doesn't have a happy ending, in fact a rotten ending. With one singular villain and keeps coming at the ML in all of the 34 eps becomes rather predictable and boring. The tragic ending for the drama looks like its just for the sake of having a tragic ending, just to indulge the writer's or the director own tragic soul. If it has a happy ending BRAVO! I hope the drama will proof me wrong.
Three reasons to watch the drama-
1. The feast itself. The food segments make me hungry all the time

3. Xu Kai, sooooo ridiculously handsome. Even though his acting is still very much lacking. BUT SUCH a great looking poseur!
