And yeah that memory moment shows that Loanshark Mom killed her husband, there was bloo on her face.... and she was scared... was he trying to kill her first... ????
so yeah, it showed, the Snake Chaebol Dad helped her cover it up by framing FakeYC's dad...

Wow this is a masterful psychological thriller :) WOW!!!!!

The web of relationships and lies is extraordinary!!!! Somewhat reminds me of Italian Movie "Perfect Strangers" - which is a masterpiece! but this is 100 episodes of something like that!!!!

This one is different bc there are "good" people doing bad things, intentionally or not.... it is very very similar to real life....

too bad more people dont know about it, this is waaaaaay above the typical daily, from what i understand

I love watching the Loanshark Villain Mantis Mom - I find her makeup hair jewelry costuming fascinating... her lipstick matches her hair, her gaudy jewelry is AMAZING and she has beautiful white teet and she moves her lips as she speaks, and she acts so well, I find her FASCINATING to watch ...
The other half villain mom has great fashion too, and a great figure in slinky dresses, and she is pretty too, but not as interesting to me to watch bc she is too... controlled :)

I also love watching Ha Neul bc of his beautiful smile. He is the character I worry about bc he became a liar so I hope he untangles soon...

Everyone acts so well in this drama. The Cheabol Dad is a perfect backsabbing snake villain with those thin sucked in lips... Omg his relationship to HN... !!!!! speak of a cruel master of a bird in a golden cage.... The trashy FakeYC's ex is a perfect criminal.... The duped cheabol fiance is perfect combo of mama-daddy-company son snowflake - he is already bailing out on FakeYC and ... rightfully so LOL Yeah, I agree he might get into an affair with Real YC...

Well if RealYC lives lol as someone said, I would put her on a feeding tube, she is all skin and bones. That actress is great in that role and I love her unique voice but please, eat some food to ensure you LIVE to the end of the drama lol

FakeYC parents are ... well... great in their role, but super dumb characters LOL omg the fashion police should arrest the FakeYC's stepmom lol lol lol and it had to be that way, they are one of the reasons why everything went bad...

I really enjoyed the acting of the bodygard for the three LOL and also the horror movie cook...

Script is so complex and all these actors are really making it real. It is amazing!

marie is much cheaper but "normal family" yaddiadia .... acting is not as stellar though and it is not filmed as well.

This kdrama started promising, up to and including the bus attendant part. BUT THEN THE CHARACTERS DID NOT GROW ANY MORE... !!!! and it was just toxic toxic toxic. At the end, this drama was a usual sexist trope and rather trashy because it did not show any positive growth for real, but rather showed a desperation, toxicicy.... It showed normal people in normal life, doing normal things. It is ... hm.... not quite worthy of a drama .... it is more western hopeless style than kdrama.

It overuses the sexist plot of kdrama .... most kdramas start with FL as a doormat - but let her grow at least some by the end - this one shows the FL as mostly a doormat to the end and somehow she is considered a good person for it

Never seen any of the shows you mentioned.

You mentioned like 5 kdramas that are slop. Koreans produce HUNDREDS of dramas so having such a low failure rate is remarkable.

This year there are many more kdramas and movies that are stellar, a lot more than just Tangerines....

There are some iconic western movies I like, but it is rare.
Most western shows are too lewd and violent and meaningless imo.

I like this drama a lot, I think the story is phenomenally useful. It is a toxic story about "ordinary" people who are ignorant and they make wrong choices and create messes.
So this is not a "fun" drama to watch but is incredibly usedul as a learning tool.

To me this is a pshychological drama. So it is ok that it is not happy fun all the time. It is working through some severe deep character flaws and bad decisions and delusions. So it is a LEARNING TOOL.

The acting is great and the issues are complex and ... toxic :) so it requires some detective skills to really dig in and understand the characters and the plot and what it all means.

In other words, this is one of those dramas where you have to really pay attention to every nuance of the actions and character, and really dive deep into rather SUBTLE BUT POWERFUL psychological states.

Yeah it is frustrating to see ppl making mistakes and livin gin toxicity. And also, it is extremely useful learning tool.

I do NOT hate this drama, I gave it high reviews, and I take great care to go through the psychological issues presented as it is very interesting to me to see HOW PEOPLE "WORK"

the issues described in this drama are very very common issues in daily life
An amazing learning is reading the comments and seeing how so many ppl have very loose ideas of boundaries etc

Being annoyed with a character in a drama, not liking their choices, does not mean you hate anything or anyone LOL

I am enjoying doing my detective work figuring every single nuance of the JP JH YR characters, discussing opinions with others, learning from those who saw what I did not see or who put it into better words,

I love the scene when the two got togehter by the Ocean. ML is very ... calm and composed, I had no idea he fell to the extent he did :) He did it for his kid I am now intrigued what kind of man he is.

Well then you are dumb. I never said I dislike the show. In fact, I said I like this show a LOT!!! I think the acting is great and the story is super useful. I learned a LOT from the characters of this story. I keep analyzing and profiling the characters and learning a LOT!!!!

The story is a toxic story about immature ppl who do toxic things out of ignorance, and it resembles the daily life of so many of us.

@swisshishappy before I said all that, I should have asked you - which "fantasy" did you advocate for? The "fantasy" that is actually real, or the delusion that we tend to call "fantasy"?

You can think you are happy after reading a trashy romance novel, or you can think you are happy after reading a good fairytale.

So.. which kind did you want?

LIKE TALKING TO ANY KID YOUNGER THAN 5 who will tell you that they see this and that and you will be amazed what they see!!!! Like book Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda, or Elizabeth Kubler Ross experiences with dead ppl coming back to say death does not exist, or .... omg there is a lot. Bc beings like .. faires, dwarfs, angels, etc etc etc etc all exist and are HERE NOW.

and then there are serious spiritual lessons disguised as fun fantasy stories, like ... kdrama Goblin, My roommate is a gumiho. etc.... Woman who ran with the wolves stories read by Estela Pensecola - I KNOW I am butchering her name right now :) and good old staple stories like Little Red Riding Hood, Snowhite, Cindirella, anything from Brother's Grimm, Aesop, etc. I highly recommend book "Seven Arrows" by Homeyostas Storm.

People read Karlos Castaneda and think kdrama Head OVer Heals is fun and such other dangerous shit which talks about things one should not explore unless you are under some master and closely supervised, and even then, it is .... DANGEROUS.
Real art is supposed to somehow lead to discover something about the world and yourself. The fantasy is often used as a camo fun cover for super deep metaphorical messages about spiritual growth. ALL FAIRY TALES ARE LIKE THAT - the talk about the inner struggle.
BUT a masterpiece like Cindirella is much better said :)

I am a storyteller and I love fairy tales, and I think they are real, bc I see that they are real - and definitely the messages are super deep etc.
A purely fantasy drama is dangerous as it lets you escape reality in ways that are ... prone to manipulation. I have western cartoons and movies in mind. They are really used for dumbing down the masses. As simple as that
