"western audience canNOT handle complexity and depth"? Who are you to say that? You really take all Westerners…
Well yeah we all ran away from the western media and found kdramas.... They were never perfect, e.g. sexism is one of the major inherent flaws, but at least they had character development and meaningful stories... rather complex and deep messages... warm and copassionate satire and exposure of unpleasant and complex issues.... individual and community reflection and collaboration...
But kdramas are now produced en-masse a dime a dozen to make money off the western audience. In the USA, kdramas even show on Sinclair TV, which is one of the most conservative "Fox TV"-like station.... So... churning kdramas for that market, and in great numbers, is .. just killing them.

I will be sad if kddranas become extinct.

Cdramas have no sly sophisticated pokey warm compasionate humor like kdramas do :) Cdramas do not have humor, perriod, they are overly dramatic, pompous, without dialogues, and with lots of flashy scenes. The look and feel of a military parade... or Shen Yun circus show...
Imo cdramas cannot possibly be it since by default, by inherent design of China, it is NOT possible to poke fingers at stuff, like kdramas do. If you do that in China.... you ... end up in a concentration camp lol Well not that bad nymore but you lose your social points... cdramas are really Cwood ..

And Japanese dramas, god bless them, are reflection of Japanese staunch feaudalism and brainswarching and "small pond", they are often sooo simplistic, usually sexist, and just ... either unreal polished OR crazy to the point of weird... Rare is a jdrama done well..

So... I am sticking with kdramas and am watching old ones.

PS - I picked Insp. M. name bc my mother called me that. She said I had to know everything, dig out everything, and expose the truth. Yeah that's me :) I think I watched like 20 min of some Inspector M. show and concluded I dont really like it but I kept the nickname :) bc I do like the concept of digging and exposing truth

In the end, they end up together. Personally, I hated this couple, HJ and JJ.
you mean, JJ and HJ end up together? Well - both are immature.... so .... I have no expectations.... just let them be.

HJ is a lot more sexy and fun than MJ, who is a robot, so... JJ at least gets a boy toy. A snowflake spoiled brat .... but a fun boy toy IF EVERYTHING GOES HIS WAY. If that's what she wants... go ahead.. and choke to death lmao. But maybe if she pampers him then he will stay a fun boy toy and not bite her back :) at least for a little bit. I wonder how long it would last...

Not a fan of sickness arc in dramas but if it does go down that route, my guess is that there will be a transplant…
Since Fukushima nuclear reactor is STILL spewing radioactive water into Pacific, there is more and more cancer stories in kdramas....

He had a very successful career in architecture here in the states and lived in NYC, which is an exciting city.…
I am not so interested in where they live, but how they talk about their needs and what they want. NYC is not an exciting city for everyone :) It is loud, smelly, crowded... What does EA think about it? G never even told her what it is like there..
So - what are EA's needs? can EA live without her family? If they have kids dont they need the grandma? etc

So I want them both to say what they need, why G prefers NYC etc etc etc. I want to see those conversations. Not just him saying I might go or not, and she saying ok I will come with you

I'm going to stop watching this drama. After everything Hyeon Jun did, is Cloe actually going to end up with him?
Ooops I was wrong, you guys were right. JJ fell in love with HJ. Let's see where that will go :)

EDITED LATER: I TAKE THIS BACK. I said it bc MJ said it, but MJ is jealous and could be wrong. I am simply not feeling any real love from Chloe to HJ

EDITED LATER: Actually, I spoke too soon. I said this bc MJ said it, so I took it as a truth. But after thinking about it, I am not feeling it. I do NOT feel any love from Chloe to HJ.
MJ is jealous so he might be wrong.
Chloe is more worried for HJ like an older sister or an aunty. I dont feel any romantic vibe where she feels like touching or kissing HJ.

We shall see. At this point, neither guy is a good choice. HJ is a weak trash and MJ is a robot "grandpa" no sexy at all

"western audience canNOT handle complexity and depth"? Who are you to say that? You really take all Westerners…
Well - have you watched any western stuff? So what is your conclusion then? You like what Hwood and others are producing, you think it is complex and deep?

Obviously I thought badly of it so I am watching here, not there...

And I have noticed that quality of kdramas has significantly gone down since they show a lot in the West, the content is westernized, the acting, the filming, even actors try to look lilly white.
So those are my observations from which I drew some conclusions

I am not sure who "USAsians" are but what you wrote sounds totally awful and reeks of supremacy. Esp if you are referring to Asians living in the USA... that comment is racist. Ttihat entire paragraph is cryptic to me and sound really bad

yeah perhaps I should have been more specific - I was talking the Dumblandia that I am personaly familiar with . The Dumblandia already lives like movie Idiocracy, made in ... 2006?. Great movie. All great stuff that Dumblandia used to have was gone by the year 2010.

yeah the West generally is more mental but it doesnt mean that it is more complex :) Seems like Europe thinks more and is more artsy, but still ... not deep enough/ Too mental :)

As for the music, the traditional African music is DA music imo :) The only better music are chants from India and Tibet.
Heavy metal etc are just trash. And drugs :) Sorry nothing personal, this is my honest opinion, and I am a musician and metaphysician.

To me the most civilized and most deep places are those with high spiritual education. In that sense, Asia totally wins over the West, bc they got really great training from Buddha. Seems to me that Tibet is #1 and then comes Nepal, Buthan, India, ... India is hypocritical with their caste system...

The West, generally speaking, is a little more free from social norms so it CAN produce creative and innovative stuff, and also, since the whole world goes there to visit, study and/or live, it is a great place for collaboration and innovation. Getting things done and direct communication are the gifts from the West. But Dumblandia has gone off the rails and resmbles the Old Rome failing more than anything else. I am not expecting anything great from there

Hm I dislike those talks about G moving to the USA. He never presents his reasons, never asks EA where she would rather be, it is expected that she will adjust to whatever he wants - but we dont even know why and what he really wants. That part is very shallow

As I read the "spoilers" it seems like this drama is like a ... nightmare of someone really under influence. The plot and scenes described here are ... well... totally random and crazy
So what really is the purpose of this drama? To present shocking material? What do the makers say, what is their intent? Making money by obnoxiously fooling around, hoping ppl will watch? Circus performance? Attention grabbing? IS THERE a deeper meaning to this drama?

Hm too bad the dilemma near the end of ep 9 did not have more time, that was excellent dialogue scene...
Ep 9 and esp 10 could have been better... How did the Prosecutor show up magically and overcame Tak? Mr Lee should not be eagerly following BOTH of the major culprits, esp not without telling the Prosecutor where he is and what he is doing... The roof fight scenes hm... need some work. The I Love Yous at the end were a little.... rosey Hwood.. ... and weak acting by Mr Lee actor
OK next time. Really put the details into the thriller

I agree with you, as much as I actually do like this show, that first aggressive kiss didn't feel necessary for…
Prosecutor is confused. He confuses pain and s.x and he confuses feelings towards someone and wanting to be closer with aggression
Like a constipated person trying to poop and pushing, straining , instead of relaxing into it
There is also probably some issues about him hiding his sexual preferences still

This drama is still mentioned in complaining posts in many other dailies and dramas as the frustrated tired audience quotes it as burdensome toxic. No wonder.
This drama is about a couple of cold brutal cemented smart psychopathic serial killers tormenting and killing a bunch of VERY dumb people. It is a carnage from ep 1 to ep ... 139. In other words, the drama was KILLED by very awful script.
