This has got to be the best Emperor in any cdrama ever. Also, his wives are incomparably dope as well. Hope 3rd Prince turns out to be ok. Certainly #5 has redeemed himself a bit. What a crazy family.
I think a lot about the trouble Akira has telling people close to him about his sexual orientation. Only when really facing morbid loneliness does he agree to date Saki but it takes years to confess that he is gay and only sees her as a friend. We see that he kisses Senpai but then he runs. Time and again, he demonstrates that he thinks he is lacking or undeserving. But with Shin in the other hand, he blurted it right out. Bam. Bobs your Uncle and I’m gay.
Imo he is the one growing the most from this relationship. Shin is learning about the sexual power he has over Akira, as well as the importance of being courtesy and being patient with reluctant love. But Akira is learning about the difference between a crush and love, how to open up and protect someone he cherishes, and he is learning to be who he is and not apologize. I suspect he or they both will learn the joy of having one person in your life who loves you, flaws and all, and to what lengths they’ll go to to hang on to each other.
Cuz what Akira and Shin has is the real deal. It may still have spots, but it’s the real deal nonetheless
Park Jin consoling himself with wine because he thinks his love loves another, only to find his wine jug pilfered by someone else is a perfect metaphor for how dumb he is. So far we’ve spent more time on him and the Maidservant and the damned spirit dog then on our main couple
I will say imo it is fantastic up until ep 5 (that one is wild) but gets a little soapy in ep 7/8. I haven’t finished it yet. Lucifer is excellent in this show.
If they ditched all those useless love triangle sub plots we could have gotten more much needed time with the…
I like how you describe their time together as debriefing. That’s so accurate and how I’ve been feeling week over week. I’m not finished with 16 yet. I’m hoping not to walk away frustrated again. This could be such a good show. I’d say the writers are trying to be overly ambitious with all the extra story but it comes off contrived.
Was that an “I licked it therefore it’s mine” kinda deal? See…this is why some of us get so frustrated with all the additional side plots and characters. These two are hilarious and electric together. So maybe the show can’t be all just Uk and Mu Deok but shit, we should get more then 5 mins per episode of those two alone and flirting/bantering.
I’m no less intrigued by Mark and Vee today then I was 2 years ago. I’m so happy with this series. Even Tencents shameless money grab could not ruin this experience for me. Yin & War were so good their performances covered a lot of the shows ills, namely unhelpful and annoying side characters and melodrama. Loved the final scenes. I was happy to see Marks freaky, insatiable side which I am convinced is what made Vee fall for him in the first place. Some day I’ll make a top 20 favorite BL couple list and these two will be on it.
Where did you watch it?

Home slice went hardcore on those 9 families

I’m very pleased with LM and enjoyed getting a deeper look into their story. Its a most worthy successor. I’m so proud of Yin and War.
