Got distracted at ep 8 and have not finished. I am not familiar with the source material or any of the versions so can someone help me understand what happened with KSH and SHY’s Mom? Show has built him up to be a hot headed gangster but a rapist? And how did their paths even cross?
Seems random. But maybe ep 8-9-10 provide the necessary backstory.
Istg this show infuriates me. Specifically the audacity of these shit villagers.!How dare these old bastards bust into Jeong Woos house, steal evidence, then assault him? I haven’t been this enraged by a show since King of Pigs. I might have to wait until this finishes airing.

Somehow came out of watching ep 2 both simultaneously appalled because these are two very broken characters (& I’m certain they will damage each other), alarmed for the blondes physical and emotional safety, yet Im already invested in this couple and certain I’m going to like this show a lot.
The injustice to Jeong Woo is infuriating. Wanting to shelter your kids is natural but what kind of hate and disdain could make a group of adults knowingly allow an innocent kid, the shining star of the whole gang, take the rap? And don’t get me started on those shit head kids who it appears more & more likely were the actual culprits.
One thing is for sure, no one is coming out of this situation unscathed. Even if any of them really thought JW was the culprit, there will be no redemption for what happened to him and his family, let alone the girls once the truth is out.
I realized what I like so much about this series. It feels like a Skandi-noir. Straight up story telling. The atmosphere is bleak, the tragedy and heartbreak of the collective a palpable thing, as much a part of the community as the skyline. Every character is grey but no less tragic for their faults. The only character that isn’t mysterious is the new Detective. He is skeptical, observant and quick to see past the miasma of disgust caused by two gruesome murders and suspect that people are actively concealing what really happened to those girls.
This is a fantastic show. I’d say Hollywood quality but it’s better then that by a long shot.
The teachers pet is Jealous and causing all the trouble.
Also, I noticed that the bully of Uncle Ding is the older stepbrother from History: Close to You. Still too beautiful for words. Don’t like seeing him as a sleezeball tho.
I really want to like this, and halfway thru 7 I confess there have been some great scenes. But Seong A is a badly written character. No shade to the actress. But this is just a garbage character. Is she evil? Yes. Is she crazy? Clearly. Does she bear any credibility at all? No. She is just a spoiled, entitled little brat with Daddy issues. Her outbursts of violence come across as unhinged and self indulgent. She is not a worthy foe. Just an unhinged spoiled rich kid. Why she has so many dancing to her tune is beyond me. Why no one has put her down long before now boggles the mind. And what the hell is “It” doing? She’s supposed to be so observant.
I hope Gi Ho helps Yeong Ha whack this crazy wench. Preferably before she harms the daughter. Otherwise I’m going to call this show a failure of SK storytelling.
Just delightful. It was warm and gooey like a chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven, yet showed characters with a level of emotional maturity that was surprising. Just love these boys. Toma might be the new standard.

Jonah Ting is so boyfriend coded. He is totally dialed into how Sheng Wang is feeling at all times. He’s head over heals.
