I think he's really expressive and has a lot of potential. I really hoped that he doesn't take the easy route of just being a pretty boy who throw smiles at the camera.
The first half of this season was kind of boring with the political stuff. It just continued from the first season. If they were going to do seasons, they should have arcs. But the second half was great because it was packed with action. The cliffhanger was open ended for the next season, but I think I'm done for now. Time for something new. I'm excited for the writer's new drama with Jeon Ji Hyun, "Mount Jiri."
In the beginning, I was curious about its potential. The middle was alright, like the writer was stalling time and building the relationships, and then towards the end was where things pick up its pace and finally did something with the characters.
I think this drama proves that this writer can write a masterpiece. There were moments where it was beautiful and tragic.
The main leads have really great acting, especially Ae-Shin. Her expressions were on point and I think for the most part carried the romance. Their scenes made me feel when I didn't even ship them.
I like his costume movies. It's like a visual feast. But his stories/plot, it's a little slow and meaningless. He should have a co-writer to filter things or to throw in some quirks.
I remember the first time I saw her was The Three Musketeers. I was like "who's this girl? She's so good with her expressions!" It's great that she's more popular now.
I'm not a fan of fantasy, so this needed to try better. It was seriously in need of some substance. The main couple isn’t even shippable. The secondary couple was better but then still nothing special. Bromance? Not a fan of the trope and it just looked unnatural. I think it’ll work better if Gong Yoo was the grim reaper instead because he’s on the cute side, while Lee Dong Wook might work better for Goblin because his face is dry/serious.
Good things about it is the cinematography and OST. When both are combined, it looked very cinematic and created some cool moments.
Not sure if Soo Ah is the main or second lead, but I wished they could have hooked up or kiss in that moment. I'm glad they have chemistry. But the previews, I can already see the issue between them.
I share similar sentiments with many of you. I find the story itself to be rather dull. I haven't dropped the…
I feel that Xiao Yu'er tricks and story gets old fast. Nothing really new, he barely learns anything, and just make enemies left and right. But with Hua Wu Que, he is learning more about the martial arts world and that's where the drama gets most of its world building.
Finally a list that isn't just Korean dramas. My top 3 is Sky Castle, The World Between Us, and Be Melodramatic. I didn't finish any Chinese in 2019. I did start The Untamed but stopped for a while, but now I'm going to give it another try.
