What "white standards" are you talking about? The Korean boyband does what Koreans demand/enjoy. Nobody in Korea…
Obviously, "nobody" was exaggerated but children and people with low intelligence might not be able to interpret things. As somebody who works in the entertaining industry (not movies or series but something else), I just shared my experience. Of course, my experience often differs from those of people who just stick to their ideology and narratives. Keep doing that if that makes you happy. :)

No usher acts on its own. There are cameras everywhere and people checking the crowd from above and in case you…
Knife attacks are unlikely on that stairs. It's not like one of those celebrities was there to murder people. Normal people don't get near those rich people who attend the festival. The reason for the strict security are "normal" safety standards to a) prevent accidents, and b) to ensure that the place can be cleared in an organised way in the case of an emergency such as fire.

The fire brigade and the police make sure that those standards are followed, or they simply close the place down. The organisers of those festivals neither want accidents (because they would get sued) nor do they want their festival to be canceled (which would make them lose money as well).

As expected, the Cannes will defend the action of that staff despite it being obvious that there was a clear difference…
The organisers prefer "hurt feelings" over "hurt people". "Hurt people" is more expensive than "hurt feelings".

Also, unlike in other parts of the world, there are strict rules in Europe when it comes to such festivals. Not following those rules to the tee means that the police and/or fire brigade will cancel your festival. Just a reminder: Itaewon happened in 2022. At least one young actor died. Since those festivals are very expensive, the organisers definitely don't want the place to be closed. Celebrities who are basically unknown in the West can be happy that there is just some "rude" security who tells them to move instead of removing them from the festival for not following the rules.

That bouncer couldn't protect anyone, she wasn't even looking for assailants and she's manhandling our beloved…
It's unlikely that they have terrorists in mind. "Simple" accidents can be extremely expensive. If one of the guest trips on the stairs, the scene could quickly resemble a bloody domino. If the security politely asked every single one of those hundreds of guest, that festival would not even be possible.

Apart from that, there are many rules in Europe. If the organisers of those festivals do not follow them to a tee, the police or fire brigade (or both) will close the whole place. Loveparade in Duisburg (Germany) happened in 2010. Itaewon happened in 2022.

While reading the "muh racism" comments, I often wonder if some self-proclaimed fan's non-white darling gets crushed, would that self-proclaimed fan be happy? Or is it racist if a non-Asian person falls on an Asian guest? Are the stairs racist? Are hurt feelings more important than health?

Served quite right. The white standards they follow, the people, the countries they are the servants, they do…
What "white standards" are you talking about? The Korean boyband does what Koreans demand/enjoy. Nobody in Korea cares what "white people" think. Except for the unhinged toxic fandom, of course. Asians just have to learn that stuff that works at home doesn't necessarily work the same way elsewhere.

Hollywood stars and their PR agency do know that, which is the reason why you see Hollywood stars displaying the finger heart in Korea/Asia and acting as if they were clowns or monkeys just to entertain the Asian target group. In the West, the finger heart looks ridiculous, which is the reason why we can assume that the Hollywood stars did that to entertain Koreans/Asians in Korea/Asia.

Asians do not seem to have realised yet that they have to entertain the West while being in the West.

In my "white" country, we have a few white celebrities who learnt the hard way that they are superstars at home only. In Hollywood, most of them are nobodies. Being white and following white standards does not mean anything.

It was an interesting drama but the pace of the story was not good in my opinion. The story progresses extremely slowly, then suddenly rushes through important moments in the characters's lives.

What I liked was that alcoholism was depicted as a problem even though the drinker wasn't ugly and disgusting. In other dramas I watched, alcoholism was only for the old and ugly people while good-looking people drinking way too much was depicted as normal or even cool.

after pushing through the 16 episodes, the execution of the ending felt weak to me.... don't get me wrong, this…
I agree. The ending felt unsatisfying. A bit too simple for my taste. Only 2 agents seemed to have been working on this case, and they "solved" the case without any evidence, nobody questioned that, nobody asked questions. That's implausible considering the nation lost its president in an act of terrorism.

You get paid for unique pictures that will generate money, not just for using a camera. The Asian boy band is very likely unknown to the paparazzis's target audience, so the paparazzis probably wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible. (Of course, the rude comments were absolutely unprofessional.)

Many paparazzi and reportes look down at boy bands. I remember well what was written about Tokyo Hotel 20 years ago. I wasn't a fan and knew about their existence only because there were countless of articles making fun of the band members. Some of the comments were absolutely disrespectful. The internet just forgot about them because Toyko Hotel, Justin Bieber, and so on are white men.

I think only HYS incident is racist discrimination. It's cringe to hear some entitled celebs overuse racist cards…
Oh, when it comes to non-white faces, it's "muh racism" but when it comes to white faces (see Justin Bieber or Tokyo Hotel), it's "hehe"?

Reporters are usually interested in making money, not in the celebrities. Most celebrities are basically unknown outside their respective bubble, so it is no surprise that they don't get treated like, for example, Tom Cruise or Angelina Jolie. Also, those reporters cater to a Western audience, hence they expect the people in front of the camera do things that sell in the West.

In Korea, Western celebrities have to do what Korean reporters want them to do (for example, displaying the finger heart, which looks ridiculous in a Western context but is perfectly normal in a Korean context) because the Western celebrities are expected to entertain Koreans in Korea.

In the West, reporters usually look down at boy bands. This hasn't anything to do with race.

Suzy needs to go back and act in some mainstream shows instead of experimenting with alternative roles
Why? She's probably rich af and is therefore in the position to decide on projects she actually likes. Maybe she prefers "alternative roles" over "mainstream".

He's always seemed like a likable guy from the roles he's played- not that that's reliable. Happy for him! But…
His handwriting fits his character in Penthouse. (I only know him in that role.)

Nice action drama but the creators of K-dramas reeeeally need to stop casting Lee Kyung-young for certain roles. That man has become a walking spoiler.

I doubt that your culture is different from Korean culture in regards to "feeling guilting". "Feeling guilty"…
I don't know if you are interested in finances but in more or less forums where people discuss investments, one of the most important "pro tips" is: "Don't help other people invest because if they lose money, they'll blame you." Many people are reeeeeally bad with money. They want to earn a lot of money as fast as possible without having to bother with the details. The majority of them subsequently lose all their (invested) money and need somebody to blame. ML is "pure evil" in the eyes of many people because he worked for a bank.

If you want to watch a drama about mistakes and healing (thanks to love), perhaps you'll enjoy one of these:
- If You Wish Upon Me (about a trouble maker, not a BIG mistake)
- Secret (car accident)
- Fated to love you (unwanted pregnancy)
- Just Between Lovers (major accident with many dead people)
- Happy Marriage Revenge (naïveté and importunity)

This was a pretty cute drama. Nice chemistry between the leads. The ML basically carried the whole thing for me.…
I doubt that your culture is different from Korean culture in regards to "feeling guilting". "Feeling guilty" does not always equal "being guilty".

Your example with the road accident is great and very common in all cultures where people drive cars. Bus drivers and conductors often quit after they ran over people with their bus/train, and they often have mental health issues for years, especially if they killed a child.

ML's reaction was fairly realistic.
