Points I enjoyed: The trip and fall in the ocean 💯 The brother pretending to be Li's boyfriend on the phone which cause Zhai to lose it. The sculptor answering back Zhai like he did. Zhai being a complete idiot and have to bribe the sculptor for ways to get Li back The sculptor and photographer getting back together. The brother holding Li at the end 🥲
Notes: Zhai is the most pathetic idiot ever. The prostitute remark, throwing Li out of his home AND yelling at his brother are grounds to hire someone to slap him back to reality. So he is the only one allowed to bully Li and takes offense to others. How is he going to get Li back with his vinegar personality?
"Can't you understand plain english?" The translator is doing too much now 😁
Can someone point out Zhai's one redeeming quality? I'm lost. Don't say he paid all of Li's debt. Li paid him his pound of flesh. I loved what the sculptor said about Zhai being abusive over and over but can't say he loves him. We all love the strong silent type but Zhai is just petulant.
Oh well, the sculptor and photographer have the right dynamics.
Sun Yeong deserves to be in that family. If I were Tae Ju I'd wash my hands and focus on finding the kid. A slut mother and an abusive philandering father. Her other blood brothers prove his tree is more corrupted. The most ungrateful and disloyal sister ever. I had sympathy when Gi Beom died but she proved how stupid and hungry to belong, no matter the cost, that she is. She saw how they screwed him over. She also forgets that he is a police officer and has a duty to uphold. I only hope her reason for getting close is to get some info. A very long shot. I will say Tae Ju's abrasive and over protective behavior does not serve him at all. He is constantly reactive and reaching for crumbs. At this point, the only person worth liking is the reporter.
Strange, we were sidetracked into trying to figure out the murderer but forgot the original plot. Tae Ju's and Si Yeong's history and how it affected their present circumstances.
This week was so beautiful. Heavy, but realistic. The best part was when the student couldn't define his true feelings. It's so real. Not knowing what weighs heavier.
There should be a page dedicated to the 'beards'. Why do they do this? I did get a good laugh tho. Better than MS but not by much.
I enjoy their relationship. They make it what it is and make eo honest in it.
Now that you mentioned it, i also (always) wondered why Sumiko didn't tell Ryu abt Johan being sick immediately…
Fr... Ryoma caught me in 10Dance and broke me in Silent Truth. Great actor but the last 15 min in ST, I wasn’t on board with the choice.
Machida -always love his performances. There is a finesse that's natural even as a criminal in Sins of Kujo (non bl).
Still hoping they work together again. They have IT! Something like Soul Mate would make them shine. No kissing. No touching. Just eyes and facial reactions... 😁

🤣🤣🤣
The box Sugiki placed himself in was too confining. Even his kisses were like little offerings. Suzuki ate!!!! I watched their last kiss so many times. I think Suzuki realized as much as he loved him, it would always be on Sugiki's terms. But yes, the tension 🤯.

yes! I said the same thing. When they showed Johan clasped hands I was expecting it so verbalizing it felt unnecessary. It's like the director didn’t trust the audience to grasp the true nature of their relationship.
Two things: their need to constantly stay connected implied it. The strength of their bond in every area of their life proved it. To note, no where was it shown that it was a romantic physical love only by their bond. Therefore, by choosing to say it off screen, he eliminates the need to confirm the true nature and leaves it still in the area of ambiguity and interpretation. Neither is shown to have had physical relationships and technically asexual. They both acknowledge themselves and are comfortable in their 'circles'. Therefore I can only conclude he did it to please the audiences who needed to hear it for their story to be complete.
I do not know the source material so it may have been written that way.
Also, I got the same feeling of intentional evading or blurring with 10Dance. It doesn't show the full of their physical relationship and skirts the peripheral, leaving the audience to gather what they will. Here the director teases: did they or didn't they move beyond the kisses. Suzuki's hunger in the room, Sugiki's rebuff and Suzuki's shock were the only hints to confirmation.
Japan has a way of leaving the audience in deep thought and hungry for more.
Perth's growth as an actor was good to see. His honest breakdown being the caregiver was spot on. Santa 'overbeams' (my word) and sometimes it can appear as people pleasing but I will say he can temper the shine and balance it with the heavy emotional performances. They did good here and much better than I had hoped. Hope they continue working on themselves to perfect their craft.
I wonder if PerthSanta can switch to SantaPerth for one series and see how the dynamic can be refreshed. It would be interesting.

Yes, that is true. I was so hurt for Makio. I was angry, still am at times, for how he was treated. I felt more betrayed by Mieko than Eiji, though they were both to blame. The way he was squeezed out and lied to in the name of 'family'. The pain, Eiji's regret at the end stifled them. You could feel the instant gulf between Meiko and Eiji after the meeting while Makio was finally free.
I think the director likes silent devastation. It's never loud. Just helpless breaks. Existing in the pain.
I do like how he brings the characters together. It's never smooth. It's like little rough clumsy connects then they hold on.
I disliked Eiji so much that when the actor showed up in Love Begins In The World Of If, I said "Boy, you better don't do anything to make me dislike you more". Touch and go 🤣🤣🤣
That's when an actor delivers.
In this, idk if i liked the 'I love you' at the end. Part of me needed it (freedom in the confirmation without fear) and then another part was, why now? Why is it necessary? Their presence with each other screamed it. They were like air to the other.
THIS is what I truly enjoy. MLs compliment each other well. The crown prince is as evil and petty as it gets. 😀. The story has many players in action. Wasn't expecting that kiss so soon but hey, no complaints here. It actually works here. Pity only 8 ep but might work in its favor. Too long might diminish the tension.
The trip and fall in the ocean 💯
The brother pretending to be Li's boyfriend on the phone which cause Zhai to lose it.

Zhai being a complete idiot and have to bribe the sculptor for ways to get Li back

The brother holding Li at the end 🥲

The new muscles
The missing muscles
The push ups paralysis
Peak. 😁
Better than expected.
"I'll take it as a compliment."
❣️
Li Wan and Aomi mutual confession and fire lights
BLu blu blu.... corniest joke ever but I loved it.
"Dad, I love you."
"Go tell your father. Why are you telling me?"
"Just let me practice. I love you."
feelings vs memories... a nice touch
This series is such a nice warm blanket.
Strange, we were sidetracked into trying to figure out the murderer but forgot the original plot. Tae Ju's and Si Yeong's history and how it affected their present circumstances.
Overall, great acting by the entire cast.

Try this one.
Though it could give a meatier bite.
