Episode 16 is absolutely insane. I never thought it would go in this direction, especially with such a vivid depiction. Usually it’s all hints, but this time there are no rules at all. It creates such intense empathy... I haven’t been this invested in a series in a long time.
The series is nice, but their pauses in between are really frustrating — they just stand there without speaking for minutes, and there’s an unnatural stop after every single line.
Hi everyone, from this harsh post it seems like Ziyu is being insulted and harsh things are being said about him. I’m not entirely sure if it’s true, but if anyone can write to him through his channels, like on Instagram or his social media in China, and encourage him — maybe it’ll help. It’s heartbreaking; he doesn’t deserve this. https://x.com/misttt_15/status/1949804038603608518
Did Chi Cheng always love snakes, and then Wang Shuo gave him the yellow snake as a gift? Or did Chi Cheng start liking them because Wang Shuo loved snakes?
This situation has spiralled so much out of control that it isn't even funny anymore. This is something that shouldn't…
I don't know. But what’s true is that this series is very surprising in the sense that it goes far beyond anything we've seen before, and the question is why now, of all times... I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I know it was filmed outside of China, but still, it’s very strange.
Just to clarify, this drama wasn’t created for the BL fans or focuses on two guys falling in love. It’s based…
You call it transcendent love, but if there’s no attraction to the temporary male form, and it’s clear everything will “go back to normal,” then it’s not love beyond gender — it’s just a straight guy waiting for his girlfriend to be a girl again.
Beyond that, the idea of love without the body isn’t accurate. Physical attraction is an integral part of love — emotionally, biologically, evolutionarily. Removing it from the equation disconnects the story from real human experience.
I feel like this series is really making history. I can’t recall another romantic comedy in this genre that runs for so many episodes with an engaging plot and a continued relationship between the main couple after they’ve already gotten together… not to mention the amount of intimacy between them. It’s true that there are similar shows in Thailand, but Thailand is quite weak in production quality compared to China. The popularity of this series is also absolutely insane. There were similar Thai series, but from what I remember, they always felt like small-scale productions. What do you think?

That’s exactly the point. If he’s not attracted to her in a male body then it’s not love that transcends gender, it’s just standard heterosexuality on pause. The story isn’t truly exploring gender, it’s avoiding sexuality.

Up until about 15 years ago, that was common, and I watched quite a few series like that — and enjoyed them. There’s no shortage of such shows, but since then we’ve moved forward to 2025— or at least I hoped we had. SKorea, however, is often lagging behind, which is strange considering it’s a Westernizing country. I understand you might not see it yet, but this has nothing to do with BL — that’s just an excuse to avoid dealing with gay themes. No one is forcing these ideas on anyone either. You could say it’s like casting a white actor to play an African character — it’s the same kind of issue.
I have no patience for shows that try to attract a BL audience but don’t dare to be direct. Why not just make a series about a gay couple, plain and simple?
