I fucking hate myself, I'm on episode 2 and I swear to god I have seen this already but I don't remember how it ends or anything. I keep seeing scenes and I'm like I've seen this before...I hate this feeling!!
I'm surprised you weren't aware of the SML's interest being genuine. As for thinking of dropping K-drama, I took…
Familiar Wife was decent, I preferred Go Back Couple when compared between the two. It's a "do-over" rom-com with a bit of melodrama.
I grew up on Tamil stuff and had a distaste of it ever since I was like 12, the movies can sometimes be decent but the last couple of Rajini movies I've seen have been over-the-top nonsense (the Robot movies). My parents watch Bigg Boss as far as I know and the occasional tamil movie but I rememeber my mother watching the TV show with Radhika in it (I know it's an old one from around 2000.
I actually watched I am Sam on a flight, I remember shedding a few tears.
Have you seen the Japanese dorama version of Hana Yori Dango?
I genuinely enjoyed the show it could have been more but I'm relatively happy with what we got. Overall, the series is mainly a comedy and less romance than a typical rom-com and even less action than a typical action spy series but it does have some decent doses of both. I gave it a 9/10 as I really liked all the characters.

I started watching dramas on and off since 2007, I've been watching anime from 2000. Right now, I'm only really watching K-Dramas right now.
I've seen all versions of Erased, great series and I absolutely love the whole mystery thriller and supernatural stuff.
As for Waikiki, I haven't finished season 1 yet (only 2 episodes left) because I ended up watching and completing other shows such as Familiar Wife and 1 more episode left of My Secret Terrius. I don't think I'll watch season 2 of Waikiki until a few months after.
I typically don't add the movies on MDL as there's far too many I have seen, so I actively avoid adding them so when I check my list, it only has a minimal amount of movies (less clutter). Whereas, MAL (myanimelist) I add absolutely everything I have seen.
I do love rom-coms as well, I do like to mix up what I watch to prevent the feeling from getting stale. I wonder if your preference for rom-coms might come from the fact that a huge amount of Tamil cinema almost always has a romance aspect in it, I'm only guessing here as it said you were based in Tamil Nadu. Tamil TV dramas in most cases should be scraped, they have never genuinely been good and I can not understand why people watch them, the constant cliffhangers, commercials and ridiculous amount of episodes.
After a number of boring kdramas, this was the final drama I decided to watch before I drop kdrama totally. But…

As for thinking of dropping K-drama, I took a quick look of your list and it doesn't seem you've watched many but most of the ones you have seen are just romance ones.
Is the first season necessary for me to watch the second one?
It's just the fact that the cast was pretty much completely changed. Thankfully, Lee Ji Kyung returned. From my understanding, Kim Jung Hyun did not want to return to the show because he was having personal issues such as anxiety and Son Seung Won got 2 DUIs in the space of a few months, which wrecked his career trajectory and I have no idea what he is doing now.
Those circumstances do genuinely hurt when thinking about it.
How did you watch Waikiki? Did you watch the first season first or after the second season?
I watched this at around 2007 maybe even earlier, only ever watched it once but I do remember the connection between the 2 leads.
I haven't seen Takuya Kimura in a while, the last thing I watched from him was a Hero movie in a Hong Kong theatre back in 2015, I know he's in the game series Judgement made by the people between the Yakuza game series.
Throughout the show, I was fully expecting him to go back to his original timeline but instead it seemed in that world there is only one timeline that gets constantly altered depending on what they do.
Just finished the series, it's true what ppl have said that it is a little difficult to watch the first few episodes (because of the character flaws) but by episode 3 or 4, things get better and interesting.
Overall, it is a really good drama and things that happened that I didn't expect. I'm giving it a 9/10.
