I just finished watching episode 7. I am starting to get into this one. I was having a hard time transitioning…
I feel like the SFL is low-key cosplaying Audrey Tatou. A popular French actress of that era. The haircut for sure

Goodbye My Princess left me dazed and a bit depressed too. What an incredible iconic role he played! I hope we continue to see many more complex performances from CXX. He is a great actor

All in all very happy with this drama. (Though I would have liked to see the leads married!)The ending felt a little anti climatic and mellow. Still, CXX delivered a great performance with a complex green flag ML. LYX was lovely and chaotic without being cringey. The chemistry between was awesome and it was a refreshing change to see leads with healthy relationship.

Some people are simply hating the second male lead and even coming after people who are praising him … like…
He tried ruining his "brother's" reputation by having the mole release a private video. He also tried to sabotage the competition by completely lying about his next project. He came to the ML's workplace and outed his identity when clearly ML did not want either. He is very underhanded and cowardly in his attacks. He is not a murderer or anything but definitely Red flag

The look of dismay/disapproval on FL's face when she opened his fridge and it was empty was so real lol! You know she is going to get food in there. 😄 Also, I am enjoying seeing a FL that can actually communicate with and treats the ML well. It's not common these days!

I believe Chen Xing Xu is shy and a bad kisser. Come on… it’s 2026. He should know how to kiss in a drama…
Wow. I completely disagree. To each there own I guess. For me, CXX comes across natural and real. The chemistry and kisses between the leads is so believable and good!

The way they both couldn't stop smiling in the car ride was so sweet! The dating era is going to be so fun😍💕

I don’t have a specific interest in the SML, but I can’t deny that he has a better aura than the ML, when…
Agreed. He is more of a manager type while ML would rather just focus on the Design. That is also why he has a business partner who is supposed to cover all that. I don't think SML can actually design

He was forcibly grabbed by servants and put in the room where she made advances without his consent. Did she s** assault him? No. Have other dramas had worse? Yes. It still was not a good look for this character

Does happy ending equate to masterpiece or the drama being good?I read some conflicting reviews, some complaining…
Definitely not a masterpiece. It could have been if there had been actual character development for the FL, consistent writing for the ML, and more logic to the schemes then the FL being all knowing and able to predict the future.

A masterpiece has a good story, compelling characters, a well paced narrative, character and relationship development at least for the leads. A logical plot, quality acting, chemistry between characters, good cinematography and music, visuals that pull you into the story, and emotional payoff. A drama that you can't forget, and still think about much later

A happy ending is a perk, but a realistic sad or open ending can also be used. It's the out of left field, sad/open for no reason endings that make people unsatisfied.
For me, Goodbye My Princess is a masterpiece. It's a tragedy but one you understand.

Do you have any dramas you would consider a masterpiece? I can think only of a very few that deserve that description

Some people are calling the FL a red flag, but I’m genuinely confused. So far, I haven’t seen any reasonable…
She tried to force the ML to sleep with her and ignores him repeatedly saying No. (If the genders were switched people would be out w. pitchforks) She is a hypocrite who asks him not to deceive her and then deceives, lies to, and manipulates him again and again. She strings him along and uses him all while being an Ice queen that never cracks. It's one thing for a character to begin that way, grow and changed. The problem with this one is, she never gets better.

I dropped MM, at least at the beginning it seemed she didn't have a lot of respect or love/loyalty for the ML. Was there a lot of character development?

This drama had so much potential and really grabbed my attention for the first half but sadly it turned into a ridiculous mess. I feel disappointed in the lack of character development for the FL. Why is it that so called "Female empowerment" in dramas mean they treat the ML poorly? That there is a lack of commitment to the relationship? It's annoying. I feel robbed that we didn't get to see a badass power couple and a strong female lead that also showed human vulnerability

I'm trying to think of dramas that were able to achieve a complex (strong AND vulnerable) FL who respects, loves and is loyal to her man. Feel free to add!

Love Like the Galaxy
Starry Love
Love Between Fairy and Devil
The Story of Pearl Girl
Love in the Turquoise Land
Lighter and Princess
The Legend of Shen Li
The Long Ballad

Only watched the first episode and was wondering if the Rong daughters get any growth development by the end?
They all have character growth except the FL sadly. She is the same from beginning to end

This is one a few dramas where I actually don't want the leads to end up together. At this point it's more true to the FL's character to end up alone, dedicating her life to the the Rong family and Tea. The ML should go on, have a career and find someone who actually prioritizes him/reciprocates feelings (CoughMentorsdaughtercough)
