Reading this makes me think of one of the most popular tropes in both Western and Eastern dramas and that is "Beauty and the Beast" or "Enemies to Lovers". I think part of the draw is women are attracted to stories where there is a women finding the diamond in the rough, taming the beast, helping someone find redemption. We also like powerful, strong men over weak cowardly men. So in the story the ML may mistreat the FL at the beginning, but it doesn't stay there. He will always change and become better. The problem with the recent flipping of the script is the Female "beast" don't acknowledge there is a problem with the behavior or ever take responsibility for it. Of course there are exceptions to these, but I've noticed in general

I hear you. The hypocrisy is obnoxious. It seems to be popular in recent dramas for the Females to mistreat the Males and never take responsibility or apologize. I hope that goes away! Not only is it wrong and toxic, it makes the ML look unattractive and weak to allow such treatment. Green Flag doesn't mean acting like a doormat.

I was also disgusted by her trying to strong arm him into sleeping with her. Being promiscuous is not empowering. He has dignity and morals. That whole scene was ick. (I would say the same if the roles were reversed!)

Wow! Very well articulated. I hope they can be more balanced as it goes on. I dislike when any character asks for honesty while they them are very deceiving.

Not happy at all with the way this drama went. I'm not sure if it was weak writing or a miscasting, but the FL was not believable and was annoying. ML was treated like a punching bag. Very unsatisfying. It has good music and visuals 6/10

He has cracks appearing for sure. He let his servant accuse the ML to the hothead cousin and only feebly scolds him. I think he wanted it done but keep his hands clean. The way he clenched his fist when the FL walked by was scary

I agree. I can understand why she is upset but it was over the top. She is getting ahead of herself and being very immature. If you like him then try to understand him and get to know him better

I'm enjoying it so far but the sudden development in episode 8 felt out of no where. Fl is ML's most trusted person? His only friend? Where did that come from? Why exactly? What has she done for him? He has saved her a couple of times and she defended him from being falsely accused but to be at that level, felt like a teen girl's fantasy. Lazy writing. I'm all for the FL's development but having the ML be suddenly so devoted when she acts like a child just feels ...lame. Hopefully they will develop the relationship more organically. I dislike dramas when they have a Saint ML be blindly in love with the FL no matter how she treats him or the value of her character. 2nd ML is scene stealing for me, WD has charisma in buckets
