Not gonna lie, Alex rubs me the wrong way. Like, yes, he's not doing the annoying go-after-someone-who's-taken kind of character, but also, he's been so pushy & everyone is uncomfortable & he should take no for an answer, ESP since Pharm has repeatedly said no/distanced himself from the beginning. It's like Pharm is an object, where he doesn't have his own autonomy & needs an owner who can say a no that means something.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. Like, I thought that the girl wouldn't continue to be in a relationship with the prospect of marriage (going off what XHT's parents were saying) since I would imagine the relationship to be a disservice to both of them. I didn't mean that I didn't get why they would date, but I guess the promise of more.
ALSO, THAT SCENE WITH HIS PARENTS REALLY PISSED ME OFF. I was like, is this like the "happy ending"? XHT "turning straight"? Didn't like the "fix-it" way it ended. Reinforces the idea of "deviance" (aka not being cishet) being bad. Ugh.

Mark this under spoilers. It's like implied. They talk about him traveling with Phoebe, he goes shopping with his sister to buy her clothes, and his parents talk about 'locking her down.' It just seems odd that someone would date someone who is clearly still grieving about their past relationship, but I don't know what it's like, so I guess I can't say anything.
Can someone translate the quote they put up on the end scene? VIKI failed me and didn't sub it (but I don't know what I should expect from them since they never sub notes and stuff rip).
Ok, now that I'm trying to collect myself, there are things I want to say.
(1) I hope fans don't bash the actors. They're just doing their job. (2) I hate that LGBT+ characters have the death card. All. the. damn. time. Stop killing them off. That doesn't help with good representation. (3) HIStory usually does HE, so this came out of left field. But more than that, I like to watch HIStory bc it's a HE, which is what I crave bc of the ill treatment of those that don't fit the hegemonic norms. (4) YXG had like the saddest life/death, and that makes me sad. (5) Why don't we get to see anyone else's grief? Esp LZG. They were basically like brothers. I think it would also be great to see the dynamic of SBX having to take care of both best friend and boyfriend & help them through their grief while also coming to terms with his own since he was also friends. (6) Ppl are calling him YXG's doppelganger, but I really think that it was more like a hallucination that XHT has, esp when talking about change over time (and not getting to see YXG's). I could be wrong though. (7) I don't like the bi-erasure at the end. The ending scene would've been a great time for XHT to be like, I like guys and gals, when talking to SBX rather than the "only YXG" ending. Like, I'd be fine if it was only YXG and then have XHT never date again (although sad), but I don't like how they ended with him in this ambiguous relationship with Phoebe (albeit one that he doesn't care so much about), so making him "straight" again. (Going back to point 2 here.)
All that being said. I did enjoy the episode. I cried. A lot. The entire way through. A lot of sad tears, but even happy tears (when they toasted to friendship and when LZG+SBX got accepted by his family). This entire series made me so happy, and this final ep destroyed me emotionally, but wow.

Ugh, I know it's a ploy, but both of their tears makes my heart hurt. Tharn since he loves Type so much, and Type for doing this and seeing how much Tharn is hurting. I cry.
Tar's acting is also having a seed of truth to it when he's talking to Tharn, like about having no choice and not wanting to trick him. But this is the line that broke my heart: "Now I'm only a loose brat who can sleep with anybody." Like, damn. The trauma and the self-hatred that he probably has. I hate rapists.
Every time Lhong opens his mouth, I feel so disgusted. First, was when he was talking about Tharn's exes. Now, when he's like, oh you're lucky no one taped you. It's like, everything seems fairly innocuous, but it's still creepy (and if you know what he actually did - ugh, wanna throw up).
