I really don't get everyone bagging on this series. A conflict before the end is classic drama tropes, this is nothing new. I've really loved this season (WAY more than HIStory4). Johnny is a complete doof, but that's what I love about him. He's not this overly masculine stereotype. He's a lovable dork. He's fun, sweet, caring (a bit too much, but that's not a bad thing. Just gets him in bad situations). Hai Yi is literally just chef's kiss marry me pls. And I really love the side-couple as well! The HIStory4 cameo wouldn't be the couple I would've chosen, since they were my least favorite last season, but it's nice to see how they've grown and matured since then. With this series, I truly recommend seeing it for yourself instead of listening to everyone. (If this has a bad last episode, though... I will change my stance. XD) but for now, I do really love this season.
I'm so torn on the mother. She was awful to Masumi, and HONESTLY, she didn't deserve saving. After the way she treated him, she really didn't deserve shit. But, I do (begrudgingly) feel sorry for her, as she's probably gonna die. And I know that's gonna eat Masumi up inside. They may only have a few days left anyway, so neither will suffer long, but... IDK. That just kinda fucked me up. ;-;
As someone who is getting a bit tired of BL cliche? I loved this drama. Maybe it just hit the tropes I like, IDK. But I really enjoyed it. Really loved both couples and the story (while I did get confused at a certain point, I just kinda accepted it. XD) was good. The cameos were just icing on the nice little cake which is this series. Not a perfect show, nothing groundbreaking in BL. But a nice show with a good plot. Good acting. Cliche? Maybe. But still good and a quick watch!
Incredibly disappointed. As someone who loved the donghua (haven't read the manhua yet) this was just... A huge disservice. Duanmu Xi never even loved Qin Siyao, but "they had to censor the gays" LMAO. Of all the censored dramas I've seen, this has been the worst. Giving it a 7 is ONLY because the acting was okay and I was able to enjoy SOME parts because I loved the source material. Don't waste your time, if you want to see a better adaptation, watch the donghua or read the manhua. LEAGUES better.
I finally finished it today. Truly a great drama. I think the ending could've been a little better (I need closure for Porchay & Kim and a few scenes were just WTF at times) but I'm glad overall it was a happy ending. I know I shouldn't love VegasPete, but Pete is such a sweetheart and I just want him to be happy. ;-; KinnPorsche, though? MVP I LOVE THEM CHEF'S KISS
I don't know how to feel about this. I was really apprehensive about 2Moons2's recast, and ended up loving them way more than the original (especially without Godt's, homophobic self. No thank you.) but I grew to REALLY love 2Moons2's cast. As a fan of stage plays and musicals, I'm used to cast changes every few years or so, but, it seems Motive Village is really a shitty company. I do want this series to succeed, but MV really REALLY needs to get their shit together if they want a good product. Treat your cast well, PAY THEM. I would hope MV would make ammends with the season 2 cast, maybe getting them back for season 3. I doubt we'll ever see that, though.
HE IS A FINE PIECE OF MAN, I CANNOT DENY THAT SAUNA SCENE CONFIRMED EVERY GAY BONE IN MY BODY XD Also for the novel, I'd love that! IDK when I'll get around to reading it since I'm terrible at that, but I know I will get to it! =D
I've been so excited for this since the trailer dropped. Just caught up now and this show is blowing my mind. It's still fun and funny like most Thai BL. But the plot? JUICY. The men? JUICY. Very much a Kinn simp here. Very happy that I decided to jump in cause this show is SO good so far! Haven't read the novel, so I'm going into this completely blind.
I'm really loving this so far! I see a lot of negative reviews, and if you're tired of tropes I completely understand that. But I have to say, I'm very pleased so far! I know there's only 2 episodes out of 8 out on Viki (which is where I'm watching) and it's not the most revolutionary new BL out there. I get it. But it's cute! AND EP 2. IF IT WASN'T 3 IN THE MORNING I WOULD'VE BEEN YELLING.
I'm pretty torn on the first episode. The line delivery at times is... Really forced. Mainly when speaking English. Which you know, if they don't know the language, I commend them for how well they did it. But with it being most of the language spoken in episode 1, it makes the acting look bad. The Tagalog lines are delivered a LOT better. The main couple is cute and I love the musical numbers! And the OST is SO good. I'm giving this a chance. Yeah, there are parts that are cringy, but there are good parts too!
While I'm SURE we're missing something here, that ending is throwing me through a loop. Bad Buddy was going to become my top drama of all time, and I'm HOPING ep. 12 doesn't disappoint. But also one of the crew said they were heartbroken about the final 2 episodes and fans should hope for a season 2. Honestly, this show never needed a season 2, just a good ending. Most dramas have one final issue before smooth sailing to the end, so I HOPE Bad Buddy doesn't disappoint. I really loved the series up until this point.
Addicted was my gateway to BL. You can literally see Johnny Huang as my PFP. Regardless of how problematic it was, Addicted has always been my favorite drama. I was DYING for a season 2. I hated how season 1 ended on a cliffhanger. But this? I feel like I've been robbed. I will give it a chance and hope that somehow it can still be good like The Untamed was, but... IDK, this just has a nasty smell of "money hungry" all over it. I would rather it been made in Taiwan where it would be uncensored or just not remade at all and have the novels released in other languages. I've seen remakes of shows/different adaptations. I am not opposed at all to having a remake, but a FAITHFUL remake. Not a straight-washed "remake" of an LGBTQ+ iconic show.
I loved this drama.
