I will say, I'm speaking from the mind of an older BL fan.
I watched the whole thing. And before I say anything, I want to make it clear that I did enjoy this series for what it's worth. I haven't watched a BL drama/lakorn in quite a long time, and it was a nice way to dip my toes back in.
That being said, I went into this blind. I remember watching the trailer for the original version, and was quite surprised how lighthearted this version is. I mean, the Wabi Sabi version seemed much more dark and mysterious. So I was a bit taken aback.
Is this series cute? Yes. For sure. Fluffy? By all means. Dark? At times, but not as much as it could've been.
Also the last episode felt rushed and I really think it could've benefited getting another episode to properly flesh out the ending. Especially the climax of the series. I feel like it was way too short and rushed. Other than that? I totally enjoyed it. I loved BounPrem since UWMA, and I'm happy to see them in a main role together!

I have a very similar theory. I don't think Thara is evil, but moreso she's a vampire and is only thinking calculating. She isn't concerning herself with people's feelings and emotions. She doesn't have them. She's thinking about the bigger picture and keeping herself alive to keep the balance between vampires and humans. But she doesn't really care what happens to Tong. And TBH I feel like Mark helped her kill his parents, but obviously now would regret it and apologize profusely.
Thara is definitely a villain, but not an evil one. Just robotic in a sense. And Mark is gonna have to make a choice.
Which, it's GMMTV so I'm sure he's gonna pick Tong.
But it's gonna be a struggle, and I'm not looking forward to the angst.
I also don't FULLY trust Tonkla. Not that he's evil at all, but I feel like he might unknowingly be under Nakan's control. I could be wrong, but I REALLY feel that way LMAO.

LGB is truly a sad existence. We should be embracing and loving everyone in our community. Everyone is their own individual and beautiful in their own way. To sit here and tear down beautiful people just because you don't understand them is sad and pathetic. They could be some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, and you ruin that opportunity by being a bigot. T's are the backbone of our community and they're ALWAYS putting in the work that needs to be done. Nothing but respect and love for them. <3

This version was going to get hate regardless. And at this point, I thoroughly believe we'll never get a complete adaptation of Addicted. It's just not gonna happen. Whether it's country laws, production, or the fans themselves. No one will ever be satisfied and it's doomed to fail.
I love this version for what it is. It's not "bromanced" as people have said. Not by a long shot. Yeah, maybe we don't get full on sex scenes, but it's fully implied they happen. Do you need sex and kiss scenes to enjoy a show? If that's the case, there's places you can find those. Go fulfill your fantasies.
This show finally brought Addicted back after years of it being doormant (Yes I love SWM too, but that was WAY more censored than this version. Don't let people tell you otherwise). With a promise for a complete story, this REALLY could've been a spectacular adaptation. A cleaned up, modernized version of the same story we know and love. I love the Thai touches to make it its own unique version. Maybe not WORD FOR WORD lifted from the novel, but a very close adaptation with fixes to not make Hero (Gu Hai) and Pop (Bai Luoyin) so deplorable at times. I will always love this version for being brave and trying to bring back an IP that so many people love. It's unfortunate that things happen the way they did, but it's a good show. I hope the staff will change their mind and go ahead with S2... I really do. I don't want to see another Addicted adaptation die out for one reason or another.

As a gay man watching a show about a gay couple, I don't want to see SA sexualized and romanticized. And further narrates a harmful stereotype.

I understand the novel fans wanting a truly faithful adaptation.
But the year is 2024, society has progressed so much since the original novel was created.
There's a lot of toxicity and harmful tropes in the original books, we're not gonna get that in this day and age.
Especially with the non-con scenes. I'm sorry but who actually wants to see that? That's not romantic, that's a felony.
I for one am really glad this series is taking a lighter approach. It's still hitting those plot points without making the characters awful individuals.
They are likable and relatable.
Maybe that's not what some fans want to see. And you all absolutely have a right to your opinion.
But I think this series is doing really well in presenting the story to the current audience.
It's not perfect by any means, and the distribution of the show is a whole other can of worms.
But, for what's here? I like it. I like it a lot.

I like how this drama is keeping the same plot points, but in a non-toxic way. As much as I love Addicted, and it was my gateway BL, the show was SO toxic and it's a bit hard to re-watch, even though I love the leads.
This version is like an uncensored Stay With Me. That's the best way I can explain it.
This is definitely giving more Wu Bi and Su Yu vs Gu Hai and Bai Luoyin. But TBH I prefer it this way. The characters are a lot more likeable.
Say what you want, not everyone is gonna like this show.
As someone who got into BL with Addicted, I'm loving this for what it is. Episode 3 was cute and I can't wait for more. <3

The uncut version has more scenes! If you look at the difference between ep 2 cut and uncut, there's about 10 minutes more of content in the uncut version!

I agree! I think it's doing well, especially the uncut episodes! The company releasing it is definitely having issues with international releases for some reason, but the show itself I'm really enjoying!

I might be in the minority here, but I am really liking this adaptation so far.
It still keeps the romantic aspects of Addicted, but it's sweeter and softer like Stay With Me.
I really liked this episode as well! It's a shame YouTube isn't getting the uncut episodes, but even still. This show is good and I'm enjoying it so far. <3
