Since you are never gonna watch it, basically he dies in the past saving her LOL and girl is somehow pregnant (even though we never saw them fuck ) she has a kid who grows up for 6 years and all, they have a funeral for him and all and then one day, kid is like I can just grab things from the past and mommy shows him a picture of dad and goes like can you grab him? And then she turns around and when she turns back, kid has dad LOL and he is wearing the same black clothes he wore when he died in the fire so I guess the six year old zapped to the past, crawled through fire to get dad back in 0.25 seconds and that’s where the drama ends. I was on the floor ROLLING and HOWLING

Brilliant review- I think this is truly my favorite of yours because I agree with everything and have similar feelings on all counts. I gave this an 8.5 because Tushan Jing was insufferable and the second half of the show had way more telling than showing, Cangxuan's rise to power in the central plains and political maneuvering was not convincing for me because it was always in the background of the frustrating and frankly, unnecessary back and forth between Jing and Xiaoyao. Still, a solid drama and I am definitely going to do character study posts for the three main characters in my eyes (Xiang Lu, Xiao Yao, Cangxuan) to fully do my watch experience justice. Thanks for this and yes, Xiang Lu is absolutely unforgettable! ;)

Honestly, with the pacing of the show, it feels like that’s the way to watch it. S1 is faster, more plot driven, S2 is slower more character focused and it looks like S3 will pick up the pace once again to reach the conclusion so you’re good!
For me this season was such perfect soul fuel, I couldn’t bring myself to cut points for the slow plot ;-;
Honestly after the three consecutive slumps I have had … every episode of this drama felt like it was electrocuting me with LIFE and yes I will shut up now, you know I am still on that Fan Xian fever dream to be unbiased ;-;
