The way I cackled at "Fan Xian realizes he only lives twice". You bruise my heart with this review. Though, it is well written as always and gives me what I have been desperately looking for in all the AI riddled crap that litters JOL S2's page so thank you! You are right on all counts though I chose to let go of almost everything because Fan Xian, mean and lean, as you call him quite literally bamboozled me until I put a blind fold on and was more or less Wu Zhu without the martial arts who'd go to any length to protect him XD

I feel like we might see more action in the third season now that all his delicious Qi is back. With this one, the season definitely felt like the middle arc where he is really truly realising the games of the capital, the stakes, the cruelty and all- I think this will fundamentally shape him as a character and what he wants to do with his role so I definitely enjoyed his emotions going from 😎😒😩😤😤😠🥵🤯🤯😨 but I won’t lie and say him kicking ass is not always panty scorching LMAO

There is no world, universe and galaxy in existence where JCW a seasoned, talented and dynamic actor can even be compared to LDH who has had many terrible performances, has mostly been part of projects that are famous for other actors and has only started getting main roles in 2020. There is no comparison so I wouldn't bother arguing. XD

Also, IQIYI was gate keeping the last few episodes but released their previews so I watched them and the previews are just a collection of the MOST important scenes in the episodes 😂 So, I already saw her death when I was on ep 34 so without the shock value it felt even more dumb and ridiculous SMH

Also Xie Wei with his hedgehog ass caught in ANY fight will never be not funny. Him smacking people with a Qin. Him getting punched in the face by the rebel Prince PENGUIN, him and Zhang Zhe waddling around like sitting ducks in the final showdown. I was cackling so hard I wanted to cry

So she was held captive and tortured for DAYS and she was fine and then, finally when the dude was about to release her and go she had to like hold on to his feet? Only for him to kill her and walk like ten steps before getting captured and getting fucked. Like what was the point? She could have just not done shit and he would have still been captured lmao and the fact that guard was a loose cannon from the very beginning and the main guys were like oh well, let’s tell him stuff and pray he won’t betray. They should all be spanked for that amount of SHEER stupidity if this was another drama and I didn’t have Xie Wei snarling in my ear every five seconds, I would have given this a 6 lmao

After ALL that mad sexual tension and the scorching chemistry between the two- I had the biggest case of blue balls ever from a C drama. That drama is like an ex I can’t get over- it was great while it lasted, ended badly and the memory still hurts

Didn’t he literally feel like fanfiction come to life? The way he actually GROWLED lol I have always wondered what writers mean when they write growly men but now I have seen it. I love his absolute extra-ness. Also, imagine TROP having the ending this one did- it would be an instant 10. Imagine TROP having the steam this one did - it would be an 11 and I would watch it three times. Instead we got what we got and my toes hurt when I think about how they fucked up at the end and how the FL had more intimate scenes with that random ass villain than my best man Ning BADDEST Yi
