I see where you’re coming from. However, my views are only based on this drama’s particular story line. I don’t think strong female lead representation needs to be pushed to make a good story either, nor do I watch dramas looking to brand people as misogynists. I do have a problem, however, when writers build an entire plot based on a particular character arc and then choose to destroy it. It’s interesting how a character like Naksu who is time and time again advertised as the strongest assassin in all realms, ruthless and what not is reduced to a mere prop. It’s also interesting to see how all the male characters (Jang Uk, Seo Yul, Dang Gu, Songrim Leader) are characters who have these “save the day” badass moments whereas all the female characters (Naksu, So Yi, Kim Do Ju, Sect Leader Jin and her daughter and even Jin Bu Yeon) are shown as vulnerable, weak or women who need saving in one form or another.

I think my point here is clear. Maybe, the words I have used are too harsh but that’s just my form of expression. Thanks for your concern, though! Lucky for me, I do end up enjoying quite a lot of dramas with the current mindset if they are well written. 🤗

Exactly, I started fast forwarding in the second half of S1 because I got tired of wishing and wishing and wishing for her to stop carrying the male lead on her back and actually get the spotlight herself but it never happened. Then they followed it with that stupid “she’s gone crazy and is now an out of control killer” scene where the great Naksu is again controlled by some man. Very disappointing. I need a badass female lead drama recommendation to hold my hand after this mess

Exactly, this season was just such a shame. Complete annihilation of Naksu’s entire personality. Even when she regains her memories, she’s still that watered down version of Bu Yeon, content with being oppa’s sidekick

Just fucking around 😂 Anyway I agree on Lee Do Hyun being overrated. Apparently, the dude has won a best actor award and I was shocked because his bland expressions and -2% acting skills are an eyesore. I haven’t seen Revenge of others and am currently on the first episode of King of pigs so this is definitely my shtick. But if your favourite drama is “Stranger” or “Mr. Sunshine” then I can see why you would be disappointed because these shows are some of my favourites of all time as well. True masterpieces. Omgggg yes I think that’s where I had to suspend belief. Like they regularly take the FL into the gym and BURN her with a curling rod over and over and over again. The teacher SLAPS her in his office repeatedly with everyone looking. Anybody who speaks up gets fired because well rich kids rule and I am just like what kind of school is that lmao like the fuck even if a kernel of this is true and based on reality, South Korean schools seem like a nightmare.
