She was on your screen last year? What's your concept of a long time?
Ahah, it hasn't been that that long. I'm so used to getting a drama from her every year, so it was weird not to get one last year. I wasn't a fan of Love in Contract, so I dropped that one. But I also fully know that she wasn't doing well mentally and physically due to the controversy, so it makes sense why she took a break last year. However, I'm glad she took one to feel rested and regain her strength and energy.
PMY is the first actress I genuinely fell in love with when I first got into kdramas. Her Private life was one of the first dramas that I watched and PMY holds such a special place in my heart. She deserves all the best in life and I am so happy to see her back on the screen after such a long time. I hope she gain strength and is always surrounded with love and happiness. Lastly, this pic of PMY is so hoot and she is rocking that short hair 🔥🔥🔥
It was really great but if they bring stalker in the picture it will ruin the permises of the show and divert…
That´s what im worried about too. There has been a fair share of romantic kdramas such as Crash course in romance going heavy into the murder plot and diverted the attention from the leads. Hopefully, it is trauma or something and not just something they added to force some mystery into the drama. I really don´t like that and screenwriters need to stop doing that where romance should be the main focus. I swear to God if they give heavy attention to the SFL´s scene with some mystery bs im going to be so pissed ahah. But I also love that the SFL was the first person in the ML´s life that didnt make a big deal out of him being deaf and the younger cast playing them had such great chemistry. I wouldn´t mind seeing more scenes with them from the past.
That scene in the end was so beautiful and the leads did such a great job expressing their heartfelt emotions to each other. They showed such vulnerability and that I miss you from Suho towards Hyunseo was so lovely to watch. I don´t want this season to end:(
The drama is not trying to be anything groundbreaking. It will be six episodes of tropes and annoying subplots…
Exactly! Different seasons will tackle different dynamics of romantic relationships. This one is centered around a love triangle, but like the former its supposed to be short and to the point. I love Steve Noh in this role and he is doing such a great job. I have been kind of obsessed with him lately lolol
Especially when, the way the drama is going and the fact that the female character is a completely different person…
Yep, have to agree with that. The jversion was of its time so it wouldn´t make sense for this drama to be similar especially like you mention with the way it progresses.
Do you guys think Steven Noh would have been a much better fit because I thought of him when I saw the webtoon version ahah. Even the way he is built is quite similar.
Even for someone like me watching these influencers getting angry at something so trivial as having a high following is ridiculousness. But I think that if you are not familiar with this celebrity world and especially the side of it that tends to get kind of ugly, watching these characters go bonkers like this might be very far from what you have heard of. However, after binging this show it was fun to see that all of the antagonists had skeletons in their closet. It does make you think about the extent to which celebrities would go to climb the social ladder. I mean the greediness did get to Ah Ri even though her intentions were not intended to be malicious.
OMG, I forgot about Cheer Up. I did drop that one but I do remember it being delayed a lot.
Yep, and all the things you are pointing out are the reason why I dropped the show. I do remember particularly not liking the FL´s role because she had to be over the top and her behavior would irritate me alot, especially in the way she would treat her brother. And also forced murder plot in a rom com sounds very Kdrama like to me lol
I watched the first two episodes, and I am really loving it. I am glad that we went straight into the plot in the end of episode 1. Its nice and refreshing that we get to see a ML supporting the FL through trauma and struggles which usually tends to be rare in kdramas. I love that they also have great chemistry. One thing I have to say is something about the way the episodes are formatted feels very webdrama like. Not to mention the outdated editing and the transitions between the scenes coupled with the OSTs, which feels like they don´t fit with the 2023 production. However, its not taking anything away from the interesting plot., and im definitely looking forward to continuing the show.
Also, love me some revenge plots like this and the Escape of the Seven which hits that spot for me when it comes to these kinds of genres wohoo!!
These are the ones out now, although I think most of us are waiting for Demian´s ost to come out ahah
