If directors and writers want to do such storyline then that should be in modern drama. They have many options.

Correction: drama with reincarnation are Xuanhuan not xianxia.

Also I made it clear that the drama were neither xianxia or Xuanhuan but just a messed up story by the directors who want make a unique drama.

Here is the point.

1)The Xuanhuan part could have been the portraying of demon directly with the wilderness being a different realm of demons separate from that of humans.
But the drama fails in this aspect by not having a distinct difference between human and immortal being.

2) the xianxia part could have been the portraying of demon indirectly by either human character who is possessed by demon or some sort of demonic artifacts with the wilderness as a sect or cult.

I have been watching all type of Cdrama for 10 years right from young so don't rush to be smart

You may give it a try. Everyone has different taste I dropped it at ep 10 or 11 and couldn't continue further.
I dropped it immediately the FL who is obviously a married woman spent a month in the cave alone with the 2nd ml.
