(Spoiler*) Key point, XL is a demon, what should we expect. Ofcourse XL is strict at first when they met, WXL(man)…
The funny part is that no, I don't prefer Tushan Jing... From the start I was on team XL. They really could have been great together if he was ready to actually try. But after episode 34, I'm honestly just tired at this point. He's exhausting. Every time they get a little closer together he finds a way to mess it up and FL ends up hurt... again. Okay he saved her but so did TSJ. While XL has hurt her so many times already, pretty much every single one of their uncounters has ended on a bad note. You said TSJ is selfish holding her to their promess but he's the only one who's been thinking about her this whole time.
It's not about being 'perfect' it's about being willing to do the work. Clearly he's not if he still ends up acting that way even on ep 34. It's not about preferences either, but looking at the facts and what happened so far.
I don't know who she's gonna end up with but I hope either XL really wakes up or just leave her be with TSJ 🤷♀️
Perfect characters are so outdated, no one finds them believable anymore... seems like we prefer broken ones,…
Yeah I don't understand why her dad suddently disapeared of the show, they only showed her grandpa and cousins. For the ML parents, he didn't even talk about them, all we know is that they're both busy doctors. Actually, now that I think about it, they never showed the ML doing his job as a doctor/surgeon either. We only heard rumors from patients that he was great at his job 🤔
I think the screewriters were so focus on making the show angsty-free that they took out anything that could potentially be a problem, except maybe the occasional online 'bullying'. Problem is : that's what makes characters interesting ^^
I think I appreciated it mostly because I had just finished 'The Story of Kunning Palace' - which was amazing btw - so it was a nice change after it, like a little vacation ^^
You'll understand later in the story. Unless you want spoilers?
He discovered her songs years ago and he basically fell in love with her voice (pretty much just like she fell in love with his voice with his dubbings). The songs were unnamed so he didn't know who she was. He only realized who it was when they met her as Shengshengman. I think he also really loved the way she talked about food when he accidentally joined that first conversation. Cooking is their main topic in the early stages of their relationship ^^
Only complaint I have (I never thought I’d say it), ML is too perfect. They made him so flawless he doesn’t…
Perfect characters are so outdated, no one finds them believable anymore... seems like we prefer broken ones, more relatable ^^
I think they should have made him quit because he was exhausted, not to give place to a new generation of 'dubbing actors' out of the generosity of his heart. Maybe it was sustainable to do both work in his 20s but at 30yo I don't think it is anymore. And showing how exhausted he was, trying to pull through to keep doing his passion would have given him substance. Also we never met his parents, we know they were very busy and never present for him, that could have been a good start to give him a bit more character 🤔
I saw there will be a season 2, is it the continuation of S1 or is it another story? If it's a continuation, does season 1 end on a big cliffhanger? Not sure I want to start it now if that's the case... 🤔
I'm not sure if it's the writing that's terrible or if it's the actors who weren't right for those roles: I've seen Zhou Ye 3 times before and she's pretty good, but I have to say I don't think this kind of character suited her very well. I like her better in happy and high-energy characters than in dramatic ones like this one. I also don't think this ML has enough charisma for that kind of role (and the oufits didn't help), his character was boring and very predictable. The way he went after his SIL with no remorse whatsoever was disappointing. The girl who plays the FL's maid was insufferable, how did the screenwriters even succeed to make her appear that way when she's so cute? I've seen her many times and she's a really good actress.
I stopped at ep 18: they failed to make me like any of the characters, what's the point of keepping going?
Started out great but I didn't really like the second half. I liked the ML, he has the potential to star in a good high budget drama. I hope he will get the chance to do it soon.
The dubbings parts were amazing, l loved their voices! It's not really a thing in my country: we only dub when it's a foreign movie/series or animation movie, otherwise the actors have their own voices recorded by mics during the actual filming of the scenes. When I first started to watch Cdramas I was really confused about why some actors weren't doing their own voices. Sometimes the lines didn't really match their lips so it was a little annoying, but I eventually got used to it. This drama however really gave me a new appreciation for those dubbings 'actors'(?) and I'm seeing it in a very different light. They are doing an amazing job. The songs were great too, I wish there were more of them.
I liked the romance, but it was a little too fast at the beginning and then there wasn't much evolution in their relationship up until the end. It was a simple love, cute and tender. The characters could have been a little more developed, especially the ML. We really don’t know much about him. Loved the fact that there was no love triangles and that the show was really focused on friendship. I found the other couple a little annoying: they had the behaviour of 16yo, always giggling for no reason, when the man was about 30... it was just awkward ^^ It could have been at least 5 episodes shorter.
It was so so awful. I finished Kunning Palace and just needed to decompress after watching it, so I picked this…
Same, after watching Kunning Palace I really wanted to see ZLH's other dramas because he really made an impression on me. I had already seen Maiden Holmes (didn't even remerber he was in it) and LBFD (he was pretty good in it). So I started My Journey To You and, although it could have been interesting, I couldn't really get into the story. I wanted to see more, but nothing seems good enough, and it kinda makes sense : his work is only getting better and better from now on, with more interesting opportunities. I think I'd rather wait for his next dramas ^^
