Wow you like slow burns well I hate slow burns, but they’ll crash and burn soon because if they get a relationship…
Actually no I'm not into slow burns, but here the ML basically fell in love in Ep 3, and he went from cold to a little clingy and crazy in love in the next one. So yeah the change was too fast and didn't seem really believable.
Have you really watched it? On the contrary, the FL is very professional and takes her job at heart. She set boundaries but was never rude to ML (apart from the misunderstanding on their first encounter).
I feel like the romance is moving a little fast, especially on the ML's part who had his entire personality altered in like 1 episode as soon as he fell in love. But the couple is really cute with amazing chemistry (the kisses are no joke in this one 😄). Their relationship seems to be pretty healthy and organic as they learn to work as a couple, how to respect each other's boundaries, and discover the other's world. I'm really enjoying it so far.
Well it was so boring.... only epsidoes from 35 to 40 are quite nice to watch and have same inetresing plot. I…
I was afraid it would be boring. That obsession with 40ish episodes in C-dramas is becoming annoying. If 20 episodes are enough to tell a good story, so be it? Why do they always want to drag if they don't have anything interesting to show? 🤷
It sounds very similar to 'The Journey of Chong Zi' which I didn't really like. Is it? I'm not asking for too many spoilers, just to know if it's different enough to be worth watching after that first one :/
Si An is an idiot to entrust his Dragon Mountain Mansion to this dumb. All Good Elders sacrificed for his stupidity.
He wouldn't have killed her for being half-demon but for basically being a traitor to his clan. She's responsible for helping the demon clan enter their territory, helping Ao Lan hide during the fight, kill the lion-man, and letting Ao Lan take his appearance, poisoning them on multiple occasions... She did lots of horrible things and is an accomplice of the demon clan's wrongdoing. That was more than enough reasons to execute her, people have been killed for far less in those stories. Letting her leave to go back to them would have been just as irresponsible ...
Situ Hong's behavior has been cocky and pretentious for a while now, but the way he acts in front of the demon clan's people is quite ridiculous. He sold his soul to gain power and became a little pawn in their hands, but each time they appear in front of him to order him around, he acts as if they're bothering him. Doesn't seem like he really gets the power dynamics, nor understand that he's still at the bottom of the hierarchy...🙃 He wants so badly to compare himself to Xue Ying but has literally nothing to compete against him, all he got was obtained by malicious ways, yet he's still far from XY's level. It's like cheating on a test and still failing ^^ I'm really looking forward to seeing how he'll end up. I hope the writers won't disappoint us with the lame last-minute change of heart where the traitor decides to save people in the end and dies a hero. He had multiple occasions to come back, like when he killed his aunt for example, his actions went way too far for him to redeem himself. All the pity I had for him because of his upbringing died a long time ago. I'm hoping for a tragic ending for him, let him die what he really is: a traitor and a sell-out.
I don't think he is favored because of his mum at all. People don't even think he has the blood. He works hard…
When did I say it was justified for Situ to kill people? 😂 I said his jealousy was UNDERSTANDABLE. And you're wrong, the masters wouldn't have helped anyone like they helped Xue Ying so much. When Situ actually asked them for assistance, they all refused pretending he wasn't good enough. They could have simply helped him with something easier or given him keys to get better as he was eager to learn, contrary to the other students who were just having fun, but they just plain out refused...
The only reason why they didn't go save Xue Ying down the cliff is because they were certain he was dead, although I'm also confused why no one went to check before declaring him dead 🤔

As I said, the ML does work hard, but be honest, he wouldn't be where he is if it wasn't for all the special treatment he got. He has a lot of powers indeed, but he almost killed himself because he was too rushed and wasn't training properly: he wanted to become too much too quick, and I understand it was to save his mom as soon as possible, but if it wasn't for his hastiness he wouldn't have been in danger. From the start, the leader of the Water Doaist temple always talked about his mom, and he is obviously biased toward the ML. I wouldn't be surprised if he was in love with or had some history with his mom in the past ^^
Honestly, the entrance exam to the school was a big joke. Only 2 students did all the thinking and led everyone else to the finishing line, it was ridiculously easy for the others to just follow and get accepted. I guess the writers didn't think it was an important step 🤔
Situ became resentful and blinded by rage, but he wasn't always like that. First, his aunt always showed favoritism towards his cousin, and then it continued with the masters at the school with the ML. Of course, he was angry. He worked hard too, but he doesn't have the same strength nor support as Xue Ying. Everything he did after was obviously wrong and evil but his jealousy at the beginning was understandable.
I like the character of Xue Ying, he's a nice man with a good heart and a hard worker. But I hate the fact that they made him a 'Nepo baby': he's from a good family with a powerful mom and he inherited her true bloodline. Because of his mom's reputation, he is favored by many. Even though we've seen him work hard since he was young, he still got a lot of help from his master (contrary to the other students) and other chiefs (for example the gift the woman gave him to heal). He had so many opportunities and exceptions made for him, so many privileges. And the worst part is that he doesn't even realize it, he just humbly accepts praises without recognizing how much help he got to get there. It just makes the whole situation very unfair for everyone else, and, to some extent, I understand why Situ Hong is so jealous of his special treatment.
The whole system is flawed: they see he has great potential so they are willing to help him advance even faster, while those who are actually struggling to make it are left behind.
