If only we can tell ourselves the truth every once in a while. When I saw the desire picture and description,…
Honestly, after reading the novel, I really love the main couple. I also love Gao Tu. Shen Wenlang is a jerk for WAAAAAAY to long. Also clueless to his own feelings. His backstory didn’t make me sympathize with him enough to forgive him either. I sympathize with Gao Tu, but that doesn’t make me prefer the second couple over the first. I absolutely love our enigma and his masterful manipulating.
But you are right on not being emotionally attached. I’m not emotionally invested in any couple I watch or read. I’m that passive fan that just likes a good story that hooks me. For that reason, I don’t understand fandoms that go crazy when their “ship” parts ways. Like, it’s a job. They are business partners. Why is this so hard to understand? Why do fans become toxic, like in the Thai BL world. OMG the DRAMA! I honestly don’t get it. When I see it on social media, I just can’t understand it. Don’t these people have better things to do? Also, so what if a BL actor is straight and dating? I honestly don’t care, as long as they portray their character to the best of their ability. What they do outside of that is their business. Just entertain me! 😄
I’m more interested in the story tbh. I can’t WAIT to see this. Me hoping this exceeds my expectations 🙏🏾…
No worries. To each their own. 😁
As for webtoons, I don’t really have many that stick out enough as I haven’t been reading for several months for one reason or another. I would need to go back through my history- which is A LOT. But there are a couple ongoing ones I struggle weekly to wait for- Beyond the Memories and Reunion. Both deal with memory loss of one of the main couples and the struggles associated with that. I also really like supernatural elements, so gravitate towards those. Mindreading ones are super fun to read. I did also really enjoy Our Youth. Because of my impatience and super fast reading speed, I tend to gravitate toward stories that have completed, but sometimes the plot for an ongoing or new release catches me in the net.
I haven’t seen Isomura Hayato in anything, but I’m interested in how these two will work together. I hope they have good onscreen chemistry.
It is a shame that people jump to conclusions and feel the need to attack. I’ve also been subjected to this. I don’t think your comment warranted the reaction it got from your first responder, and I do think you clarified your meaning well. There’s no shame in enjoying series with explicit scenes. Many of the people who shout that the draw should be the plot more than the NC scenes are the same ones who rate a series high because of NC scenes and gush about the chemistry between two BL characters in series and ship them irl the most. It’s those self-righteous people who make me take comments like that with a grain of salt.
But I also know your comment was not meant in the way the responder interpreted it. Don’t stress anymore about it, if you can. I understood you. And some people just like to start things for the attention. Or to be seen as “righteous.” Honey, we are ALL watching NC scenes and hope for a more spicy kiss than a prolonged lip touch (which is super unrealistic in any relationship, gay or straight). Even those prolonged lip touches in straight dramas are criticized. Like, who does that?! No tongue at all? It makes me chuckle or roll my eyes, no matter how amazing the plot is. I and dozens of commenters end up posting about how ridiculous it is, even while loving a series. I feel no shame in doing so.

Ah. My first BL was relatively recent- Love in the Air. (Watched late 2023 or early 2024.) Because I watched a reel where they’re sharing a sweet scene and Rain is trying to comfort and calm down Payu after his face off with the self-important wannabe. I was like, Hm… That looks interesting. Now, I have SO many BLs under my belt in just a short time (seriously, my ADHD-fueled addiction amazes even myself at times), plus dozens of webtoons- I’m a member of Lezhin. 2gether was maybe my 20th BL? KinnPorche was my 2nd. Yeah. I went right for the deep end, I know. When I watched my first JBL- I believe it was My Beautiful Man (which I’ve also watched plus S2 and the movie countless times), I was eager to consume as many JBLs for the very interesting plots they deal with.
I also really love most KBLs, with Love for Love’s Sake being one of my favorites. I applaud well-known mainstream actors normalizing playing in BL roles like in Love in the Big City with Nam Yoon Su- and that was crazy explicit with those NC scenes. Because of this drama, I’m a little hopeful that we will get a more realistic representation of a gay relationship even with Taecyeon as a ML.
OMG. Even with editing this is super long. Hope someone finds use in it, even if it’s just for a few JBL suggestions.…
I’m just rereading my previous post recommending these, thanks to your comment. My apologies if I repeat myself because of not remembering what I had previously said. 😊. I also don’t mind when a paid source cannot be found. Desperate times and all that jazz. 😉
I’m reading the novel and, Fam! I cannot wait for these scenes to be revealed, since the whole production is trying to stay as true to the original as possible. Hua Yong is something else and I lowkey love him. Poor ShaoYou had no chance from D1 15 years ago. There are some crazy events in the novel before he finds out though. I’m only on chapter 45 though.
He’s just horny af. In the novel he had to wait 2 years for the cake. They did some fooling around, but he didn’t…
Yeah. I think the timeframe is similar. The Lunar year following other events show months had passed since their first meet already. Chi Cheng marking the time between visits as 5 or 6 days, plus other clues as you mentioned, help show a good portion of time passes. In the novel, SuoWei had been hospitalized for a month after the python incident. And Wang Shuo had been back in the country for 6 months beginning in January when he’d encountered ChengYu. I think this extended period of time had been hinted at during their scene at the snake farm.
I wonder how they’ll tie in today’s episode with Zefang’s ghost watching them (where was he all this time-…
Real. The cliffhangers make me wish the days would go by faster when I should be enjoying every precious day of my summer and wishing it were longer. 😂

Yeah it is. I had to reread the timeframe more than once. Weeks? Months? YEARS?! I was like, Damn Chi Cheng and ChengYu are PARIENT but very VERY blueballed. I understand their short outbursts of impatience better as a result. I think ChengYu waits 3 years in the novel. Poor guy.
I think this drama is going to outdo all the BL. The trailer is too good. Fingers crossed lest I jinx it.
RL is in a class by itself. No other BL has shut down the servers of a major streaming app for hours more than once. They definitely opened the floodgates. I can’t help but root for every uncensored Chinese BL that follows (we have The Promise of the Soul and Secret Lover- Taiwan, I know, but still- since The On1y One and Unknown, Taiwan was falling behind). ABO Desire probably would also be shutting down servers if it weren’t for their ability to spread their reach between many streaming apps, so the load is more distributed. I think this new drama, based on the trailer, will also be trendsetting for sure. I’m eagerly anticipating its release. It’s the reign of China in the BL world. “Phi” who? 😂 I and others have been saying that once China overcomes the censorship bans, they’d rule the BL market.
I’m more interested in the story tbh. I can’t WAIT to see this. Me hoping this exceeds my expectations 🙏🏾…
Oh man! The craze over RL is one for the history books on BL. I’m an unapologetic addict consuming anything RL-related…I can’t imagine waiting until the 26th! You are strong for sure! 😊
I agree, steamy without a plot, even with visuals in abundance, is the death of many dramas. I’m thinking of the inumerable Thai BLs with subpar acting but established/popular couples carrying the forgettable series. As a more mature BL watcher, I’m now a little more selective and drop these series way more quickly. I don’t judge those who do love them though. For me, TopForm wasn’t it but I know many people swoon over it. I prefer the webtoon or anime. I also know I’m a minority in this. I felt the same about My Golden Blood and felt Your Sky didn’t deserve the hype it got, either. But that’s just my opinion, which carries little weight for fans of those series. I’m good with that.
Contrarily, I also loved My Stubborn. It was silly and absurd, but going in with that mindset made me enjoy each episode. Will I watch it again? Probably not. It was amusing though.
Omg. Did anyone notice that Chicheng isn't wearing his silver bracelet anymore. Instead he's wearing his couple's…
I wonder if the bracelet was given to him by Wang Shuo… The novel didn’t say and we have no clues in the drama. Or maybe the diamond bracelet isn’t and valuable to him as the couple watch
