so I’ve watched the two episodes that dropped and so far not too much has gone in and I don’t really feel chemistry between the two MLs tbh. I’m kind of just hanging out to see if it picks up in ep3…which means there’s not a lot of time for character and plot development… LFLS or JF2 this is not…so far. But it’ll stick it out because the series trailer showed scenes that look promising. At least ep3 may have a bit more hope based on its trailer.
oh hey, I'm going for it, even if it breaks my heart. Need something to distract from spirealm, wish me luck :D
Thanks for following up with me. Sounds like I’ll be setting myself up for that knawing sense of something unfinished if I watch…I may still though because I love psychological crime series. The age gap is odd for sure…Wonder at the difference and how they would have made that work. Insta reels make it seem like they’re closer than you describe. Gotta love the edit.
was todays ep so good? i still havent watched it yet.. should i wait for next ep also? idk what to do when i read…
I agree. I SHOULD wait, but I’m impatient and impulsive. My ADHD brain won’t let me because I’ve come so far already. That cliffhanger in the previews…I know I’m gonna lose it.
This is KILLING me! Episode 8…why do you have to end like that?! I can’t take another week of waiting. (Well, I can, but still…) The preview for next week…Part of me wishes I had waited until it’s all done to binge…the anticipation. I know this will go into my rewatch cycle already.
I finally completed this series and I’m left feeling like I needed one more episode to resolve to my satisfaction.…
I REALLY needed them to find each other at the end. like, out of all the people he “met” in the game, why couldn’t he see The one he really should have met- the one we all hoped he would meet? This drama sucked me in and left me hanging until the very end…and with that ending, I’m still left hanging. Like, they could make a whole second season based on that ending…or at least a special short. I know, I know. The theme makes sense because it was a blend of virtual and reality. Even Ruan Lan Zhu’s line in the 10th door where he poses the question of reality to Ling Jiu Shi before the ceiling collapses on him.
I honestly don’t see why this was so censored. The bromance/BL wasn’t as overt as I anticipated. It was actually pretty clean- I feel it was more clean than some of the other bromances released by China. Maybe it’s just me…
All in all, I really enjoyed this drama and hope for more like it.

have you seen the number of episodes of the spirealm on iqiyi, it has changed to 38 episodeshttps://www.iq.com/album/the-spirealm-2024-120dnehjj1h?lang=id_id
38 episodes makes sense. if you combine the episodes sharing the same door into a couple episodes per door or theme, it amounts to about that. The cutoffs for the episodes as they are now are a bit disjointed. 40min episodes are way better than 20 mins. The whole series is about 26 hours long. Wonder if iQIYI is going to drop all the episodes at once again or draw it out for 36 40 min episode weeks…
I almost did it. I almost started this series since I love thrilling crime dramas with my BLs…but o refuse to be sucked in just to have it torn from me after only 8 out of 30 episodes. Nope!
I’m still gonna park here in case China ever decides to resurrect this series.
I’m now at episode 60 and my suspicions about the game being about Jiushi are confirmed. I still think Ruan Lan Zhu is his friend from college. which is why we never see his face. I’ll definitely finish this soon. Only 6 hours of episodes left.
I am on episode 24 (still so very many left to go) but I am hooked. BL or not, I am eager each episode to see how Ling Jiu Shi progresses through the doors and what the purpose of the game is...and what the final door is. I feel like the game has something to do with his subconscious and the events that happened when he was younger. Each door so far seems to have a piece of Ling Jiu Shi's past or connect to it in some way. Feels like Ruan Lan Zhu is also connected to his past. I'm just speculating, but I think Ruan Lan Zhu is the blurred friend whose face he can't see clearly.
In any event, it's interesting and the visuals of Xia Zhi Guang and especially Huang Jun Jie (why does he remind me of Cha Eun Woo? I think it's the eyes...) draw me in even more. They're a pleasure to see on screen, and their on-screen chemistry is on point.
Yes...it's getting totally messy and baseless..seems like no effort is needed...and about korea thai collaboration…
I misspelled but Khun is like saying Mr/Mrs/Miss. Similar to how the Japanese use it I guess.
My main point is that since he is the son of her boss, she should be using the Thai polite khun instead of Phi/P’. But that may be expecting too much from a likely Korean writer…though I’m kind of surprised those who speak Thai natively don’t correct the script to fix this cultural misunderstanding…
I came back weeks later after being unable to finish ep1 due to horrific subs. Skipped to ep7 and yes, the subs are STILL that bad. They really need to fire the sub team (if there is one and it isn’t AI) and resub it.
