After watching Flame's Daughter and MARS (concurrently), I needed one more Vic Chou fix. Based on recommendations and some previews, I decided on Black and White. A cops and robbers show. One cheeky guy (Vic Chou) and one more straightlaced (Mark Chao). Was a good choice. I had to warm up to Vic's character, which didn't take to long, as quirky as he played it. Mark was super throughout. Together, it was a great bromance with dips into romance here and there. This is not a rom-com or a romance, but an action-crime drama. I enjoyed it. I watched it at a leisurely pace, but ultimately I did binge it. I think some weaknesses in the plot may have been less pronounced if I were watching as airing. Regardless, i would recommend if you are in that mode and you get the more-than-extra bonus with Mark Chao. Thanks be to MadiHawkins (see her post below) who provided me the subs and HD youtube links so I didnt have to suffer watching in low res.
Thank you! And same here. I had to rewatch the first episode a few times because I A) wasn't sure I was watching…
One thing i found that realllly helped, was when watching on the subbers blogsite, she is using Daily Motion and there is a control there to slow down the speed of the show to 75%. It solved my issue from having to do a lot of rewinds on eps that had a lot of military/political stuff in it especially.
Nice article. I am watching! I was hooked right away but I had to do a lot of pause and rewind to make sure i understood the political stuff going on early on since it is the anchor of the show. Its filmed in a different way, so it feels old fashioned. Not sure how to describe the filter they are using. Elvis Han looks stunning in this. I wasn't familiar with him before so that was a surprise gift.
Where is she? I know she had a baby and got married in 2015, but all i could find was that she was taking time off for her health from 2012-2015. I guess with Vic's demanding schedule/comback/multiple projects timing isn't right for her to return?
I really liked the lead guy Fukushi Sota..I specifically watched to learn about his works. He is sure handsome…
I was disappointed by the ending at bit. While it was a happy ending, it could have ended in something more than holding hands at the airport....maybe an excited hug or a kiss....It just looked like he was obligated to see her and grab hands with her. We know better, but its how it felt.
For those of you watching Something in the Rain, and have watched the RAWs for 7 and 8 out of desperation, here are the live recaps (scene by scene) for both 7 and 8 if you want to see if what u made up in your mind matches what was really said....until the subs come out....:D
I just want to correct something “without entering into ur personal opinion” ... and yeah, correcting me if…
agreed, i too believe it enhances. however, in the show the rules of the tree are that no matter what if the recipient is someone he loves, the tree will kill that person. “The successor is not allowed to fall in love with anyone who ingested the pollen no matter what.” So even if not intended for her, it still counts. hopefully the missing pages of the book shed light on a work-around for them to be able to stay together because it isn't so easy to fall out of love as we are seeing.
Even if it wasn't becuz of the tree-thing, i'd wanna break up with her because she doesn't listen. She just marches off and does her own thing repetitively with out respect for him or others and she lied in his face. All the things he said but didn't mean...i still find valid. She makes ME tired.
The other thing....her feelings toward him are enhanced by that love potion. Without it she was waffling between the two guys. If I were him, I wouldn't feel like i knew if she really liked him without an assist.
I'm still watching mostly because I just like watching him and was a fan of his b4 this show. I don't think this show has done him much justice as a leading man. I think his acting and role in Lingerie 1979 was more interesting and compelling. -- although i didn't care for that drama becuz the lead female was soooo annoying....made my head hurt.
Back to this show, i would find it more interesting that the 2nd male lead came back into the picture if there wasn't only 2 eps left. At this point, you know he's not gonna fare well and I wish he wasn't being used.

p.s. As of today, there's 19 eps (links) avaialbe via the subber's blog: https://productiveprocrastinationsite.wordpress.com/category/color-of-night/
I heard its on Viki now, maybe they will sub faster, who knows!
I see it says Coming Soon on viki, so there will be another source but they will be late in the game....
