Why is this titled "Ancient Love Poetry"? Where does poems come in play?
I take it as, this kind of relationship, is the kind of ETERNAL love, the great Poets dreamt, and later wrote about. Their love, was like ancient love poetry. Their love, became ancient love poetry.
They are the dreams and star dust, that haunt poets in their dreams, until they write it down on paper, it either becomes one of the classics, or fades into oblivion. Enough time eats history in the end, especially ancient love history, bar few legendary ancient love stories. Some read more like poetry, or are passed on in the form of poetry, and as such are with us today. We flesh out dodgy accounts, we sometimes base scripts on old love poetry, some are further immortalized as dramas, much like this piece.
or.....
When these two are separated, they spend eons writing of their lovelorn loneliness, to pass the endless time, until they can meet again.
Oh my Goodness, I loved this! But where did all the monsters go during the middle episodes 😕. They just disappeared…
It's a curse, not a disease. They're on the same timeline, most of them already infected or resisting infection, which means few may never turn into monsters at all, since it's not airborne. It specifically says, those who resist for 15 days, are past the difficult part. They destroy the monsters that they need to destroy, those outside provenly eat/destroy each other.
The real kicker, ep 34 - the end were actually good-ish. What a travesty. It's like interns produced and directed the first 33 episodes, then a real director stepped in, for the final few, and TRIED TO SAVE IT. So they ended up giving us just a TASTE, a small taste of what could have been. This would have done better in movie format, I'm certain this'll be reimagined, and much better, in the future. ALL the CGI, all the direction, the whole essence of what this drama could have been, was put into the final episodes. It's kinda tragic.
My final verdict, is that FL didn't have the acting chops for her role. It would have been slightly more bearable with a capable actress. This is still the worst drama of the year, in terms of directing, acting and editing, except for a few key moments of the final few episodes.
It still managed to introduce a new concept for me, how a second leading couple could so completely overshadow the ML couple, completely new experience. Maybe it's somewhat as intended, but it was so badly executed, and so badly acted by the leading couple, that it was impossible to discern.
Ahhh where’ve you been?!? Welcome back over 30k comments!
I have been looking for something else to LOVE, but so far nothing compares. I'm mostly just watching Korean now, because Chinese dramas are unbearable. Happy 30k!
Shouldn't TLB get a special badge, like 'Most Commented Drama', there should definitely be badges. Alternatively, something else to make stand-out drama pages, well...stand out more. The top 10 dramas on MDL should have badges too. Even more people would be drawn to MDL.
There are boxes for most popular votes, most popular shows, we need 'most commented shows'.

I was born somewhere else, technically, but lost my heart around 4k comments, maybe? I have no idea what the comments were, when we started, actually it cannot have been more than 2k?
We knew we'd get here, and without counting to million threads, or word games. No cheating involved, 100 percent passion!
Can I say, I've been watching since it begun airing, but cannot bare to finish it, I'm now on ep 32. I've fallen into, not love, but heartfelt compassion for Scorpion. I' not sure where this came from, but I' feeling this guy.
I'm kind of hoping his mother whisks him away, at the end, has him forget the world, and they live in peaceful seclusion forever, in Ghost Valley.
I don;t know what to do with this drama. Ep 34 is basically the drama, what the drama should have been all along, with the 2 couples switching places, from SL to ML. They went about it wrong. It WORKS when it's a story about Lonely Star and Blue Bird. Although I don't dislike Dylan, he doesn't have the acting chops of SML, and his character would have done well as second lead. Even if his acting is better than this, the Character of the Dragon, isn't ML material, I get WHY they did it, it's to set up ep 34, but they could've still had LESS of the ML couple, and had them in as second leads, the drama would have been MUCH BETTER for it. We could have been left wondering 'WHY does this drama have so much of this Pavilion Master and that Bird chick?', it's just better storytelling.
Deng Wei is like cream, he is going to rise to the top. Even if you keep giving him SL roles, he's going to outperform many ML's of today, especially these type of drama's that aren't big productions with A class stars.
He needs to be in big assembly first class drama's, where he can test himself against really excellent actors, and get a bit of fame going. I'm convinced he can hold his own, he's got the juice, he just needs the lines.
I'm waiting for a hero to compile Lonely Star and Blue Birds storyline, on youtube, so I can just watch that, when I miss them.
Haha, I also watched this after TLB and the gap in quality is striking. Some people actually already mentioned…
Maybe I've been teased into a longing here, as you say! I feel like I've developed a crush, at an airport, and my crush got on a plane and flew off. I'm watching a lot of things right now, but what I really want to be watching, or reading is about these two.
Haha, I also watched this after TLB and the gap in quality is striking. Some people actually already mentioned…
Hello again! I'm watching this, fastforwarding anything that isn't the second lead storyline. I really wish they'd make a side story, like they did with Eternal Love of Dream and 10 miles of peach blossoms. I really want to see how the second leads fell in love, in their previous life. Even if I know it ends in tragedy, that's OK with me, as this is a universe of reincarnations, maybe the lifetime after this one...
I know it's near impossible to ask this of the fandom. I wish we could make a side drama story, for the second leads. Just how The Pillow Books became a side story; Eternal Love of Dream, to the famed Eternal Love - 10 Miles of Peach Blossoms. I want to see the second leads, in their previous life, how they met, loved and ended tragically, and what happened after the ending of this drama. I don't need a HAPPY ending, I just need to love them for a little longer. I just want to love them better.
I last watched the Long Ballad, and I'm still lost in that main CP, but for some reason, these second leads exist simultaneously, in a linear fashion, for me. I adore them in a different way, they hit differently. These two interacting are just fun, and I really do like his face. It's not your everyday beautiful. It's so hard to explain. I guess it's like trying to explain falling in love, that moment when your cheeks can only get hotter, and you struggle, and you're flummoxed, jittery and inexplicably happy
I have a chemical reaction with the second couple
It cannot be explained, or quantified, it's just there
So I'm sat here with my crush, and there's not even a drama FOR them.
It's like falling in love, at an airport.
What's the chances of meeting again? Impossibly small, well, feh.
I guess lightning struck, while watching the worst drama of the year Yea, I'm as surprised as everyone else.
Much better than it's rating. This is actually going into my favourites, perhaps not my top 20, but certainly enjoyed it enough to marathon, in 2 days.
The story is refreshing. It's not that it's never been done before, it's just that he wasn't asked to portray a TORMENTED genius, just a very talented person with a shitty personal life. He has flaws, as expected of anyone who excels in their field, but they're not so extreme that he's ever a BAD PERSON. He makes some choice mistakes, but it's mistakes we all make, in every relationship we've ever had. It is harder on an introverted person, as they keep the darkness to themselves, this is the core of his problems - he doesn't delegate or share burdens easily. This changes though, as the drama spells out, before your crescendo, you're at the lowest part, working yourself UP, you will RISE.
So, it would seem that with contribution from Azu Brief, Johanna and myself, and even yourself, our conclusion…
I also realised, she wasn't fed properly. She was sharing all food with Mimi, and giving Mimi the bigger share, because that's what she's like. Mimi was stealing food, prompting A'sun to take CG for a BBQ, but it wasn't soon enough, for the state of her body. So malnourished, sickly, anemic and her first period. That's taking none of her mental health issues into consideration. She was running on fumes, so to speak. When you have nothing to burn, you collapse the minute you sit down and properly relax. Period always comes at the worst of times, so why not ruin her first good meal in ages, why not reduce her to a 'weak little girl'. It humanised her. Least we forget, she is just a girl.
One of the first things A'sun tells her, in the camp, is that she's anemic and needs to drink medicine to replenish…
If you look at her, she portrays adrenaline rush well, the second it wears off, she collapses. Immediately after an accident, if a powerful adrenaline rush occurs it can increase the body's pain threshold significantly.
