Title More Than Friends Spoiler
Asking For A Friend.. At what point did the ML lead the FL on? At what point did he lie to her about his feelings?…
Yesss thank you, I’ve literally been saying the same thing. It irritates me so much that people would call him a jerk the fact that he didn’t like her & told her that he didn’t like her... twice.

“ Absolutely, kissing a OLDER random stranger, no, loving him for 3 years , ehh probably not, flirting with…
@Pranksalot I’m not spinning anything, I’m using the characteristics of the other characters as an example of why the female lead would not be considered toxic. Once again she is not toxic, being easily jealous of someone does not make someone toxic, it how they utilize that feeling that makes them toxic. An EXAMPLE being omitted details in a situation that happen to make another person look like the bad guy when in actuality’ they were the hero. Other than the punching (which I’m going state again I don’t agree with) she has done nothing but roll her eyes & voice to herself & her friend about how to felt about Choi Dae Hyun having a girlfriend. Not once did she try to come in between the couple, even when she had an opportunity (with the whole fight issue) because she was jealous. Also you can use the “relationship definition” because although their relationship is not an imitate one they do have a boss/ employee, friend/guardian relationship (even though the friend one is a stretch) so it applies. The issue is that other than the hitting & the flirting ( which is more of a moral/social issue ) nothing that she did is considered toxic.

“ Absolutely, kissing a OLDER random stranger, no, loving him for 3 years , ehh probably not, flirting with…
It really isn’t, a toxic relationship is by definition any relationship that the couple doesn’t support each other, where there is conflict and one seeks to undermine the other person , where there’s competition, where there’s disrespect and a lack of cohesiveness between the two and that is not at all the issue that the Jung Saet Byul has. Now it WAS poor judgement & reckless for her to kiss an stranger ( in this case he happen to be older ). Flirting with someone who has an significant other is more morally wrong than it is toxic & lets now forget that she originally didn’t know he had a girlfriend, also let point out that she has done nothing to take Choi Dae Hyun away from Yoo Yeon Joo. Now I can admit that I Didn’t like the fact that she punch him multiple times in his sleep because he said his girlfriend but once again that doesn’t make her toxic just makes what she did wrong. Now base on the definition of toxic both Choi Dae Hyun girlfriend & mother are toxic but I don’t see you In your comment acknowledging that fact.

So for the people who may be hesitant to watch these drama base on a lot of the negative comments I wanted to address some of the issues that people are having.
1. “He had a girlfriend when she kiss him”: Jung Saet Byul didn’t kiss Choi Dae Hyun while he had a girlfriend, they literally broke the scene before.
2. “She was in high school when they first kiss”: Yes she was in high school when she kiss him but she was 19. Now I can’t talk about other countries but in America you are considered an adult at 18 (which is also the average age of high school seniors) so for me personally it wasn’t too weird. I think a lot of people are put off by the age gap for 2 possible reasons 1) they read or know about the ages of the characters in to the web toon this was base off of or 2) is due to the age of the actors/actresses themselves & not there characters.
3. “I couldn’t get past pedophilia”: Let’s make something very clear.... THERE IS NO PEDOPHILIA IN THIS SHOW. Number 1) Pedophila is when someone has a sexual attraction to children, due to the fact that Choi Dae Hyun was in no way attracted to Jung Saet Byul when they first met automatically cancels out the fact that he is a pedophile. Number 2) Since Jung Saet Byul was over the age of 18 she was no longer considered a child which also make the “pedophile argument” a moot point.
4. “I could get base the racism and the dreads“: Now why they felt the need to make the webtoon artist look like this I have no clue. As a black women it made me more so uncomfortable then offended, I can say this isn’t racism though it more along the lines of culture apportion with a sprinkle of stereotypes. I would have understood if the use the fly to show the he was dirty ( I’m talking about having miss several showers) but the fact that they show him taking the flies out of his hair after the shower is where things get questionable. It also doesn’t help that not only does he have dreads but he also has the Jamaican Rastafarian colors which makes the situation worse.
5. “The female lead is toxic”: Jung Saet Byul isn’t toxic, now if you said the girlfriend? Maybe, ? Choi Dae Hyun’s mom? Definitely, but Jung Saet Byul no. Now what she is is confident, loyal, the hero to the underdog, & the sales queen but none of those traits are bad. Are they some things that she does that I couldn’t see myself doing? Absolutely, kissing a OLDER random stranger, no, loving him for 3 years , ehh probably not, flirting with somebody who has a girlfriend, nope but once again NONE of those things made her toxic.
6. “The show isn’t good at all.” Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that quote is perfect for this show because you either love it or hate it, I happen to be on the love side but I can see why some may not like it, the only advice I can give to someone who is hesitant to watch it is ... WATCH IT, you can’t know if you love or hate something until you try it for yourself

Can I skip Bad Romance to watch Together With Me or is it very relevant to the story?
You can skip bad romance because this is the story of how they got together.

Title Together with Me Spoiler
Why are people saying that there’s rape in this ?
1) they were BOTH drunk and even though Korn was the one who kiss Knock first it didn’t make him any less drunk then Korn.
&
2) He didn’t purposely kiss him (& have sex with him) knowing he was drunk, if you pay attention to the morning after he has no clue what Knock is mad about until he looks at their clothes on the ground and realized what happened.

With that being said I do also think that they could have done a better job at explaining things a little better so it not left to “interpretation” for a lack of a better word.

Title Melting Me Softly Spoiler
I am watching this only because of Ji Chang Wook and I will continue watching it until the end no matter how bad…
He never fell out of love for her because she was old, when he came back he ask her out and still tried to get to know her but honestly her choosing her career over finding him and telling someone about the experiment ( which could have help find him ) played a major part in the choice in him wanting nothing to do with her. Now her getting old had more to do with experience then how she looks, he even said she got to experience life where he didn’t it.

Title Melting Me Softly Spoiler
I think the biggest problem people are having with the drama is what the hell happened. How did they end up frozen…
@M if your asking how they ended up frozen for 20 years it because the doctor who experiment it was, was the only one who knew how to wake them up (thaw them out) but due to someone trying to kill him (which put in a coma for 20 years) no one was unable to unfreeze them. Now with that being said everything else I’m confused about like who the hell the guy is trying to kill the doctor & why is their two of him (since there is one of him in one of the capsules) & I also agree I’m over the ex especially because she was more worried about her career them him.
Everyone talking bout how they were routings for the “nice guy” to get the girl but I think everyone is missing the biggest point Gae Ddong was never in love with Kim Soo. As soon as she met Ma Hoon I knew Kim Soo was the second lead, I mean come on everything about him screams second male lead.

Ughh thank you for saying this because I thought I was the only one who felt like this. I felt like they should have made this season about Fourth & Beam as well as Ming & Kit , and have Pha & Wayo continue their story for season 2 instead of rehashing out their story line form season 1. It honestly just made me cringe & want to skip through it because I already knew what was going to happen.

seriously same, I've never had second lead syndrome for a girl before but Soohyun was literally the only reason…
What made it worse was that they made it seem like Park Hoon actually likes her too !! Ugh I wanted to punch him for going back to Jaehee especially because like you I didn’t know if I could trust her & also I felt no chemistry between them.
Soogyu Jul 17, 2019
Ugh I thought i was the only one with second lead syndrome with this show & what’s even crazier is I watching this show after it finished airing & this is still the only drama in my drama history where i had second lead syndrome due to a female character.

Although I love your article I would definitely recommend letting people know that there are different types of binge watchers & these are just the common problem that binge watchers may have. There are some of us that fall into a sub group of binge watchers. I know I for one fall into one of those groups, I for one have no problem binge watching Chinese dramas, I actually prefer it. I do hate ads but there are plenty ways around that. The regret part for me is pretty non existent unless I went into a drama thinking that it wasn’t going to be good or having no interest it in & it turn out to be everything & more ( I’m talking to you Just Between Lovers) or I’m waiting for the second season to start ( Yes That right look away Fight my sphere, I see you hiding back there Ever Night) & let not include the fact that the second Asian drama I ever seen (& binge watch) was Secret. All and all your article was good & you did hit some the important points of being a binge watchers.

Great article with which I fully agree!! I also can only remember these actors for these characters which they…
I love him but ive only seen him play two serious roles, I am not a robot (he played a secondary roles) he was pretty good at that & While you were sleeping ,which he played a serious role in like an ep or two ( he was SO good in that) I just think that he gets typecasted in these silly roles that sometimes it weird to think of him doing a serious role or taking him serious if he ever plays a serious role ( which after while you were sleeping it honestly wasn't hard for me to take him seriously).

I Understand what both of you are saying but you guys are missing the point. It literally has NOTHING to do with…
I'm hoping ( & pretty positive that she will say & do the right thing) but for me that not the issue. Your right she is in the grey area of what right & what's wrong (or what we consider it to be) & I also find her faults refreshing HOWEVER that doesn't change my opinion. She is a victim (like Bok Soo) of Se ho & on how society looks at certain things i.e being poor or a high school dropout. I'm not saying that everyone has to be Mr.-Super-Save-A-Hoe like Bok Soo but there are many moments (in the present) where she had another choice but still choose the same path. Yes, she could save Bok Soo next ep, but she also could have saved him the last ep. && I want to point out that some of my disappoint with her doesn't always fall under the "I hate Bok Soon" category, sometimes it her as a teacher that disappoints me i.e not listen to her student when he first came to her with a problem. Am I saying she has to be a goody two shoes? No. Am I saying she has to be the weak damsel in distress? No. Am I solely putting the blame of what happened with Bok Soo on her shoulders? No. Am I disregarding the Se Ho (& his mom) are the real villain? No. Am I saying that I don't understand her faults? No. Am I saying I hate her character? No. Am I saying she never going to change for the better? No. Am I saying that you don't understanding any of this? No. lol I love her character & know that she may if be one of my favorite female leads by the end of this drama. All I'm saying is I'm disappointed in her AS OF NOW on how she handles certain events. It just bothers me that people who don't agree with those of us that don't like some of the ways Soo Jung handles certain situations ( certainly could have been handled better) automatically make it some type of hate female train, instead of trying to understand why we may not like her right now.
