You do realize that my comment was towards people who have a problem with homosexuality but not all the others “bad “ things that happened in the movie right? So I am criticizing those people for complaining about two girls kissing and not things like murder. And why not just realize that this movie had something you didn’t agree with, stop watching it and move on to something else that may interest you instead of commenting and complaining about the LGBTQ+ element of the movie. But you won’t because it won’t allow you to spew out your homophobia views to people who didn’t ask you for it.

I don’t know how you related people trusting the greatest of a movie or director to people not liking homophobia. And from what I gather reading the comments a lot of people (including myself) was shocked about how much people found problems with two girls kissing and not the billion other things that happened in this movie like murder, abuse, blackmail ,INCEST.

1. Why is falling in love over a statue creepy? The only reason you see it as creepy and disgusting is that WE the audience know through Na Bi eyes she wasn’t a willing muse for this statue. So again if we take away that fact ( something Jae Eon isn’t aware of) again how is it creepy?
2. So for argument stake we can assume that he did know her and realize that she was the statue at the bar, we don’t know if he seen her & fell in love before he seen the statue or after.
3. Im in no way shape or form trying to make bulls$&t excuses or run with a narrative like he innocence because he’s not. My main issue is with the female lead as well, I just feel like everyone is making Na Bi be this well round , well put together girl who didn’t have her own set of trauma (& toxic traits/moments) just because hers wasn’t as blatant as Jae Eon.
4. & that exactly why I agree that it would have been a lot better if we had his outlook because we don’t know any background about him & that’s why he getting painted by the audience with many paintbrushes.

Again let me point out that Jae Eon wasn’t an angel & also was toxic, I don’t agree with how he went about things at all. However I’m looking at the problem with them as individuals & a couple & not just the narrative Na Bi paints.

@OneAjhussi I'm not trying to justify anyone's behavior, however, what I am trying to do is to point out that no one (out of the main leads) was perfect in this drama . Both JE & NB had toxic traits one's trait was just more blatant (JE) than the other (NB).

- Jae Eon stalked Na Bi numerous times at her workplace where he showed up out of the blue

How did he stalk her? They go to the same school, were working on her project together, they were in the same department at school, & they had mutual friends.

- He was roaming around her apartment until he can find a way to be in her apartment. He was sent home but still found a way in.

When was he roaming around her apartment? When he went there for the party? When they were friends with benefits? Or when he picked up his stuff? (which if this one is the answer I can agree that he used this as an excuse to see her again.). Again though you are only looking at fault in JE, didn't Na Bi do this same thing when JE "disappear" in the end? This is what I'm talking about ...victimizing NB but looking the other way at her actions (which are sometimes the same.)

- He knew Na Bi was watching and he purposely kissed a girl to provoke her into jealousy. He used one person to attain another person. That's manipulation.

Are we talking about the girl he was kissing ALREADY when Nam Bi stumbled across them & hid from them? Yes, he did see her & he stops kissing her but let not forget that literally like 5mins later Na Bi made the choice (on her own) to kiss him after seeing him kiss another girl.

- He stalks her when she is talking with another guy.

WHEN??? When he left before her with Seol Ah & just happen to see her talking to the cashier or on a friend trip that they were both invited too? AGAIN let refresh our memories where she hid behind a pillar & watch him when he met up with Seol Ah .

- Numerous times, he arrived silently behind her to surprise her, touch her or her hair.

I agree with this, it was weird that he randomly touch her & he was always walking up on her.

- He makes himself a host in the festival so he can monitor her and he is so lucky he can witness her being rejected. But Is it really luck?

You are reaching because you don't like him, yes he decided to be a host because of her, but to think that he knew she would get rejected or that he had a girlfriend, there is no proof of that.

- He went to Na Bi's Aunt house after she rejected him and he made the Aunt know that he ate her Jangmin dish with Na Bi that she sent to her. He make her know how close they are to tell NA Bi "don't protest, I am the one deciding how much your aunt will know about us".

I agree that he should have not gone to the Aunt's house even though I understood why he did. & again I agree it was a random thing to say about the Jangmin.

- He let Na Bi misunderstand the situation for a long time so that the truth appears of course and she is so sorry, she crawls back to him to apologize. That's toying with her emotions again.

Agree that he was wrong for that & it was honestly frustrating HOWEVER Na Bi would just assume thing without asking him about and making her decision on that which often lead to her apologizing because she was wrong. Communication was something they BOTH lack. This was the most toxic part of their relationship on both ends.

- That episode when he sees DH and uses her to enter her apartment and make the other guy jealous on purpose.

- Also he sold her the story that he fell in love with someone in an art exhibition but he does confess it is her in a romantic way like any normal person would do. No. He steals her sketchbook to draw in it in a way to tell her the woman he fell in love with is her. Then he uses a guy so it can be given to her hand to hand and it is not him. That would make her come looking for him. That is manipulation again. There is nothing romantic in this. It is a scheme.
Again a reach because you don't like him, why does it have to be a story that he fell in love with her at first sight. Why is not considered romantic the way he confesses? What makes you think he planned for her to go after him especially with her adamant that she hates him and regrets everything she had with him?

And this list is not exhaustive. I don't mention how he behaved towards his so called long time girl friend or DH. There is also the red flags that I missed.

A girl that he had no romantic feelings for? & who also knew he had no romantic feelings for her? & was DH also not treating him some type of way from the get-go because he was threatened by JE presence.

This guy is a freak... It would be ok if he showed signs of improvement but no. Na Bi is a victim but ok, it takes two to tango. She is a consenting victim.

No, she isn't a victim because she isn't innocent in this & that is my biggest point. Both of them are immature and have trauma when it comes to relationships although JE wasn't innocent and definitely had his toxic traits when it came to relationships and love (all of which were blatant) so did Na Bi.

This is why like @KBB said it important to get Jae Eon side as well because you are looking at it through the eyes of Na Bi & basing your information on what we know from Na Bi. For example your disgusted that he fell in love with her over her bend over statue but forget that no one but her & her ex knows that’s she was the unknowing Muse for said statue, we don’t even know if he seen the statue yet at that point . & let’s not forget that Na Bi also had a habit of stalking as well, this is why we needed JE perspective as well because of course he is going to look like the bad guy in Na Bi narrow vision.

Agreed that her guy choice isn’t the best but Jae Eon isn’t as bad as everyone is making him to be , he’s just traumatized & immature when it comes to love like Na Bi . However like @KBB & I said a lot of people are victimized Na Bi making her look like the innocent party or Jae Eon to be the “evil” or “manipulative” one where that’s not true. For example calling Jae On a manipulative freak when he’s only done one thing that would be considered manipulative ( Not telling NB that the SML was at her house) however Na Bi literally did the same thing ( telling Seol Ah , that she should keep her hair long because JE likes to pull it during sex,) and people like to gloss over that. Another thing is the whole “toyed with her emotions thing” , I also think is a little extreme. Jae Eon had a few characters flaws but again so did Na Bi for example; JE would let Na Bi jump to her own conclusions without ever clarifying them, however Na Bi had a bad habit of jumping to conclusions without asking him what is going on , she lacks communication skills & would often just ghost him but every one ( because like @KBB said, is seeing the story through NB eyes & not getting both sides) just overlooks that and sees him as the bad guy.

Unpopular opinion: But I thought Na Bi was just as “toxic” as Jae Eon, the writer just made his toxicity more blatant then Na Bi’s. I also think that it was mostly realistic considering that they are college students with their own set of trauma that they were bring to the table.

I agree It took me 3 tries to watch it because the FL would always piss me off (especially because I was a psych major at the time) with how she would talk and handle her own situation . However I don’t think he was misdiagnosed, DID is when you “switch” to another person completely (think kill me heal me) schizophrenia is when your still yourself but see and hear other people which was his problem in Its okay, that’s love. However even with all its flaws after the the 3 try I too fell in love it with .

I know that it not her actually skin tone, I also know the reason she did it but again it not black face since she did not darker her skin to mock black people. It is however colorism (or you can call it brown face), because it is mocking those in South Asia (in this case Thailand to be specific) who are darker skin, pretty much saying that those that have darker skin are typically uncultured, maids or other domestic workers, & ugly (which In Thai dramas the darker tone characters are using domestic workers). I’m not saying any of it is right, they could have easily had her put on a bad wig, and use makeup to change her face without darker her tone but MDL using the tag blackface and other people calling it blackface is wrong because it actually colorism
