This episode is so bitter sweet in my heart. The first 10-minutes were utterly delightful. I think all our hearts go out to Jung Myung Seok, an absolute diamond of a human we'd adore as a friend. Sadly, this episode showed to me how many of us stop taking in the every day simple beauties of life, the simple things which make us smile, and all because of our careers. The sun on our face. trees in blossom. A walk in the park. Extended conversations with family and friends - because we want to, and not because we need to. So felt for him in his realisation. I was him once. However, COVID and lockdown was my wake-up call.
As a Westerner and because of my love for South Korea, I visited the country in 2019 for a month long gastronomic food tour. I spent time in Jeju eating their wonderful seafood and 3-days at a Buddhist Monastery (utterly beautiful and absolutely life changing), so serene and thought-provoking. I did yoga under the stars at 9pm, lead by the most ethereal monk, ate the most beautiful vegetarian food under a zero waste policy and then woke at 4am each morning, walked 3-miles up a steep hill to indeed do the 158 bows they mentioned in the episode - so life changing. Each afternoon we met with the Head Monk for tea to hear his words of wisdom and indeed insights. I was fascinated. So, this episode meant a lot to me and really touched my heart.
I'm not even going to comment on the potential relationship between our protagonist and Springs Sunshine, as I trust our girl to make the right decision - she's no fool and at this stage, I think she could turn his thinking - after-all, don't they say, love concurs all?
Family hey! They remain at times a complete and utter head fuck and I find especially so in Asian cultures! So much pressure on the children. I know Lee Joon Ho won't even consider for a second letting the love of his life go, however it really did break my heart when Woo Young Woo said, and all because of what she heard: "I don't think you and I should date."
This is the 21st century. There are ways to communicate, even if your love interest lives across the ocean. But…
This. On point. Ridiculous writing. As if you’d agree to wait for someone you love for a year and not communicate. Utterly stupid writing.. I mean no one and I mean no one would not be face timing, WhatsApping etc… their love interest. Grrrr!
No I agree I don’t like the fact he seems childish as well as calling the boss senpai. His overall child like…
So hear you. It's just utter childish cringe and totally unrealistic. Every episode Kaneda acts like a scared, overacting 10-year old. It's just utterly annoying and frustrating viewing. Plus, nothing moves on. Ep 7 a year later and he's still like this?? I'm sure this series was written for primary school children.
Gosh! Can this drama be any more childish and frustrating. It's just utter ridiculous rubbish. You wait for an entire year for who you finally have come to terms with is the love of your life. You can't talk to him, you can't express any bloody feelings and you're still acting like a pathetic rabbit caught in the headlights! I don't even know why I'm still here. Nothing progresses. Nothing. I'm sure this was written for a 10-year olds mentality.
Loved this episode for all the girls having each others backs, irrespective of the fact they lost, but could still find laughter.
I laughed out loud at Min Woo's failure at sabotage. Karma you slimy, unconfident toad! However, loved the way the writer built the narrative around his betrayal with so many apparent coincidental situations, only to leave it in Woo Young's hands to make her own decision. Just brilliant writing. Conversation with Min Woo on the statement. Conversation with Jung Myung on being their to represent a client. Conversation with Lee Joon not sugar coating the facts. Conversation with opposing attorney about the role a judge has to uphold the law and a attorney has to represent the people and finally the conversation with the opposing attorney again about the statement she received. Just awesome storytelling.
This is refreshing ‘fantasy’ fiction writing. Respect to the writer for thinking outside the box.
However, I’m so glad it’s around the 15 minute mark and no longer because I just find it too one-dimensional. She’s narcissistic, self-absorbed and selfish and especially so to her ‘supposed’ best friend. The writer has never given us a conversation where he talks about himself, or she even asks about him. The entire narrative is me, me, me. It feels like being in a room with someone who just talks at you, without the ability to listen. For this reason, I find the drama exhausting viewing.
Are you being logical again? 🤣 Ok, let’s wave off Kamol’s “executive decision” for a second, but what…
I know right! My thoughts exactly. Total garbage, no sense, lazy writing. They obviously think we’re a bunch of stupid people with a shedload of time on our hands. It’s just laughable 🤣
Goodness. Another week another bloody RIDICULOUSLY badly written kidnapping. It’s just so weak and lazy.
At this stage, Kamol should be thinking about employing a whole new set of bodyguards. Didn’t his guard say they’d sent two for outside!! Has the writer got amnesia?
What’s Kim whining about? How old is he? How many times did Kamol repeat its for your own safety? What’s not to understand?
Urgh! On and on we go for five more episodes- no doubt we’ll get a couple more kidnappings. As always, here for it, as so bloody laughable!
