Yes but I'm very confused at how they linked that to their issues with sex.
It's because the statue epitomised, without necessarily meaning to, the sexuality of the woman. Bear in mind both men haven't seen bare breasts, be it male or female in a year, so felt aroused by its beauty.
...And so it begins..Bring it on. What an excellent episode. Adored the build up to the reveal, that was so nicely done.
Loved that they both acknowledged they're living in 'abject misery' and that their situations 'sounded miserable' to both ears. Although Sei did say he's now starting to suffer mentally, but have to say, at his own doing. Believe me, I'm viewing through a screen and seriously miserable for two hot men not getting a sniff of action. However, one has to say: "You do have a choice and this is the life you've both chosen, so it can't all land at the feet of your significant others. "
My impatience, knowing frigid/cheating/lesbian/ girlfriend (seriously, its got to be one of those) and "roommate" (a-sexual/trauma/brotherly love) where going to be away from home for the night, seriously wanted our writers to give our boys a night together. No. Not for sexy time, but to just go for drinks or out for dinner together, instead of washing laundry alone. But, I did like this whole dialogue focused on them texting throughout on the phone, which I thought was a nice touch.
I especially like the dialogue between them both and how we know Sei admits he says what he thinks and is direct. I find that so refreshing and sexy. Has anyone else noticed how Hagiwara seems to take everything that Sei says in his stride. It's like Sei's his comfort blanket and doesn't even consider his sexual orientation. He just likes having him in his life. I find his responses beautiful to Sei's texts - considerate and honest.
Its been a long time I've been excited for a next episode.
OMG! And, this is why we are friends. Hilarious. Love it. You can't make this shit up. I've just said above that…
"Perfect dark coins." Hilarious. They are indeed resplendent and the perfect analogy for them. Personally, I don't find him gorgeous, however, I have to say I was literally astounded by his sublime naked form. Who indeed would hide such a buff body under such clothing!?
I'm surprised Sei and Fuji have been cohabiting together since such a young age and haven't had a little cheeky bout of experimentation together, or at the very least a conversation about sex, be it heterosexual or gay. At this stage, I'm honestly hoping Sei is watching a whole damn lot of porn. You go boy, you've got this and your trunk! Lol. I do so hope so. I agree, Fuji does act terrified which does raise the question of a past trauma, because at this stage it can't be just about being a-sexual.
Yes, I hear you on that open conversation narrative. Open but blurred at this stage. Now, that would have made for excellent script writing and then for us, as viewers, to see Sei flirting so naughtily, trying to change Fuji's mind and for him to be seriously tempted - now that I would have praised and make for interesting writing.
I too laughed out loud at Hagiwara's comment about Sei's lack of sexual action and thought. Oh boy, you just wait - you guys are going to be fucking like rabbits in the not too distant future and I'm so here for it. Can't wait to see how each reacts to the unveil. Next episode hopefully, as the wait is getting a tad excruciating for me.
Yes, I watched the first episode of "Impression Of Youth," however, wasn't taken with the first episode. I found the coupling of our ML's quite strange as they didn't seem to fit together - masculine ML and childish boy. However, give me the B&B owner and masculine male and then I'd be all for it. But, as you've recommended it and in no way will suffer shite, I'll give it a try.
Yes, I too heard from Maggi after we spoke - so overjoyed:-)
Episode 2:Ito Asahi has some of the nicest nipples I have ever seen. What is it with these Asian guys who can be…
OMG! And, this is why we are friends. Hilarious. Love it. You can't make this shit up. I've just said above that Ito has the most beautiful chest and nipples on a slim man. I think Sei's "room mate" is perhaps A-sexual. I find myself having some respect for him as he laid his cards out on the table from the very beginning as to what their relationship would be, unlike our female lead. To me, our boys definitely haven't had sex before, yet Sei obviously yearns, desires and wants it.
Respect to the writer for that killer bathroom scene: " Let me wank you off. " No. "Watch me wank." Brilliant. Refreshing. Loved it.
Definitely intriguing - can't wait to see how this is going.
I'm just going to say this, as I've always held my hands up to being a 'wrong-un'. Did anyone else try to capture a glimpse of Sei's penis as he crossed his legs on the bathroom floor? No? I did. I found my head tilting sideways to capture just the slightest glimmer of his manhood. Like I said, I'm a 'wrong-un. #Snigger. Also, how can he be so slim, yet have the most resplendent, buff, sexy chest? I found my eyes fixated on his beautiful breasts and nipples. Who would have thought all that lay beneath his over-sized clothing. #JustSaying
To me, this is a captivating drama. What drama has ever said: "Let me wank you off, or you watch me wanking." Love it. Brave, innovate, thoughtful writing I say. It is now clear to me that our gay leads were never in a relationship and have never had sex. Obviously Sei desires it, however, his partner is beyond, beyond terrified and indeed horrified at the thought. Is he A-sexual? Questions, questions. I adored how the writer wrote that bathroom scene and how it was directed. I've never seen that in a BL and it was beautiful to behold.
Personally, I can't wait for the girlfriend to be kicked into touch and Sei's ''roommate", because the latter is just that, a childhood friend who gave him a roof over his head. There's nothing about the girlfriend's personality I like or find interesting. She's vanilla, a vanilla manipulator, who is manipulating a seriously handsome man Why? At this stage I don't know. She's dating a man that is beyond beautiful and appears really thoughtful towards her, yet he has to remain restrained in his sexual needs. Blue balls springs to mind. Thank fuck he wanks.
Thankfully, the next episode appears that we're moving on to the recollection that they know they're text buddies. Bring it on. I'm here for it.
I was mostly caught off-guard by the sexual frankness of the show. After the revolting car crash that was the…
Greetings. Well, I'd recommend The On1y One from Taiwan, a coming of age love story, although they seriously fucked up the final two episodes, leaving us hanging. It appears that everyone is waiting for a S2, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
"Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo": Some really stunning writing and moments between our two leads. However, the curse of the tropes hit hard in the final episodes with a 10-year time skip and the "I left for your own good" ridiculousness. However, definitely worth a watch.
Currently airing and only one episode out thus far, however, from China and 40-mins in duration: "I will Turn Back the Time." Honestly, I wasn't feeling the first episode. However, will give it a 2nd try as from China.
"Our Youth" - my favourite of the year. An absolute must watch from Japan. Utterly heart-wrenching at times, but seriously well written and captivating. Prepare to cry at times.
"See Your Love" - Taiwanese. Starts out shockingly bad. However, does get better and there are some beautiful acting moments between our leads.
"The Paradise of Thorns." A Thai film with the beautiful Thai singer Jeff Satur and Kim from Kinnporsche. I've yet to complete this, as I know it is going to be extremely sad and not what I want at the moment. However, I will do when my head gets into the right frame of mind.
I thought this was excellent. Loved the quirky storyline and writing. Extremely creative in the narrative and storytelling. A breath of fresh air for South Korea and I really enjoyed the delivery of the dialogue between our two leads and their chemistry.
Excellent drama. Original. Innovative. Thought-provoking, edge-of-your-seat writing, plus the chemistry between our two leads. It's a crying shame they seriously fucked it up in the last 2-episodes with that ridiculous, nonsensical plot line: "I don't deserve you, so I must go away." What the actual bollocks?
Anyway, it's a 9/10 for me and I would probably re-watch.
Utterly stunning. An absolute must watch. Beautifully written, directed and acted throughout. Extremely touching. Heart-wrenching and also heart-warming.
It's a 9.5/10 for me and I'll definitely be re-watching.

Beautiful writing. Long may it continue.
