I must say, while I don't share your enthusiasm for the film -- and wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all…
Lovely Maggi. I honestly think you’ll love it. Aside from the fact the ending was so unnecessary and when I think about it, quite stupid. However, a beautiful, well written watch.
I must say, while I don't share your enthusiasm for the film -- and wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all…
I hear you. I found myself loving this one, but only because it did showcase depth and a different storyline to the usual. Yes, put it on hold for now and perhaps revisit when ready, if at all.
I must say, while I don't share your enthusiasm for the film -- and wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all…
Hilarious! Your DIY Bibimbap actually made me laugh out loud. I feel a pounding... (#snigger, never happens, but one can only hope) need to add to some areas I find you may have missed to oh so 'slightly' tweak some of your ingredients as follows:
1) High school setting: Blue shorts... and might I add, just above the knee. Ankle length white socks. Black plimsolls - damn, that get up is sexy as fuck! Draws the boys in every time! 2) The lips can't kiss - and if they do. It absolutely has to be a dead fish kiss. 3) The writers defined shy, virginal Uke, constantly saying in every sentence P'Dean, P'Dean, P'Dean every time the Seme wants a cuddle, kiss or even to hold their hand. 4) You've missed the guitar my friend. Everyone plays the guitar. 5) Everyone slips and falls - however, Romeo always saves them. 6) Everyone gets a cold / fever from a drizzle of rain and needs a bed cold wash down with a sponge.
Laughing aside, I don't think Time of Fever had any of these ingredients. However, what's lovely about human nature is that we like what we like, irrespective of what others think. I've already stated what I liked above, but if it doesn't do it for you, hey ho - on to the next!
Hmmm... all I will say, is I like a unique taste in others in dramas. So, just continue to own it.
I must say, while I don't share your enthusiasm for the film -- and wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all…
"I must say, while I don't share your enthusiasm for the film -- and wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all liked the same thing? "
And, here I have to absolutely agree with you. How boring it would be if we were all in agreement! Yawn! Prey do tell what didn't hit the spot for you?
The kisses were fire weren't they... and especially the first! The tangerine orange scene was also beautifully done, the close up especially, of the camera near his lips. Loved that moment. I found myself praying he'd move in and they'd devour it together - that's definitely what I would have done! #Snigger
For me, with the South Korean's, I can always see their style of writing and direction, which I like. They have their own unique way of storytelling. Damn, I can only long and be hopeful that they pass that period.
Oh, by the way, I messaged Maggi and Etoks21 to watch. I think Etoks21 is currently watching. As always, be interesting to get his feedback.
Fuck! Damn, what a beautiful rollercoaster of a ride. I was captivated. I was mesmerised. However, most importantly, surprised and utterly delighted. I didn't even know, until I started watching, that it was a prequel to Unintentional Love Story which I gave a 9/10.
There's a poignant scene, which surprisingly for me, I found myself actually tearing up to. It was so beautifully portrayed. BL's rarely bring tears to my eyes, because the best ones are few and far between.
There's something about the South Korean's when it comes to writing, storytelling, narration, direction and cinematography in the BL genre. They either go all out, as in Semantic Error, which I adored and gave a 10/10, or they go the other way and write such utter shite as Individual Circumstances, which I gave a 2/10. I think it is because as a proud nation and with BL being such a very lucrative revenue stream, they want to be seen to be aligned and competing alongside the likes of Thailand, Taiwan and Japan, who in the most part (not Thailand), put out some serious, thought-provoking and innovative storytelling with their dramas.
I felt the obvious chemistry between our two leads. The Casting Director did a great job. They complement each other. Extrovert and introvert springs to mind. I especially liked the underlining burning but subtle desire, yearning and naturally growing passion between the two. I haven't felt this portrayed well in a BL for a long time and they did it so very, very, well - great to see.
I adored the journey Go Ho Tae took. It felt real to me. His evolving love and finally recognition at how much and how long Kim Dong Hee loved him was beautifully told and narrated. Have to say, his first kiss as a virgin, in no way came across so - that was a seriously sexy first kiss. I admit, I rewound and re-watched it. Don't even get me started on the tangerine, lip moment. I literally melted. I love myself the honest depiction of a naturally horny teenager yearning for sex. So well depicted. So well done. Sexy as fuck!
In conclusion. Will I re-watch. Hell. Yes. It's a 9.5/10 for me and that's for the surprise and delight.
The whole P'Yu, P'Yu, P'Yu, P'Yu - every bloody second, keeps transporting me back to "Until We Meet Again" and P'Dean, P'Dean, P'Dean, P'Dean. So nauseating, childish and off putting. Give it a rest already! Yes, we know you know their names - so, try just saying your lines!
What a beautiful comment ❤️"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" For me this was "utter beauty" from the…
Thank you - very kind of you to say😍
For me, it could have been something special. However, in no way a masterpiece and especially considering the bumpy road the writer decided to take to the finale.
Now you're talking - Eien no Kinou was indeed something truly special. It had everything I look for from the point of view of quirky, innovative, beautiful Japanese writing. This truly deserved the 9.5/10 I gave it.
Your final Kohei Taichi mantra did make me smile. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much and the fact it will leave you with such beautiful lasting memories. After all, isn't that what we want from our dramas.
If there's this level of hate. I'd say the writer did a brilliant job in portraying a character. It's the person…
Hilarious 🤣 She actually did that a lot, to the point where I found myself raising my eyebrows in question! Funny as fuck, sound-insulating hair! #Snigger
If there's this level of hate. I'd say the writer did a brilliant job in portraying a character. It's the person…
Yes, you're right, this was never explained. I was also confused by what she could and couldn't hear. Like you said, it must be that cheap Walmart aid - like they say, you get what you pay for!
And, so it concludes. There were moments of utter beauty in this drama. Mainly for me in the opening episodes and the beautiful connection and interactions between Kohei and Taichi. It made for mesmerising viewing. Nakazawa Motoki absolutely owned his character. He delivered so much screen presence and emotions, in what was a difficult role to portray.
However, I was left feeling the drama was written by two separate writers. The flow and storytelling in the earlier episodes felt extremely natural and for some crazy, crazy reason, which I still can't quite wrap my head around, they decided to unleash Maya on us, a significant female character, in what was billed as a BL, only for her to dominate and take over far too many episodes. It left me wondering how good the script would have continued to be, if they hadn't introduced her. What really was the point of her character, as Kohei never once sided with her dismissive, rude comments about Taichi!? If anything, he showed more love towards him, yet it was at the detriment of what started out as a beautiful romance, which withered into nothing.
Would I watch it again. No. The drama careered down too many unneeded, unnecessary avenues for me. If you sell me a drama with a 'Gay Romance' tag, at the very least, I expect it to offer, a minimum 70% of gay romance. This sadly didn't. It's a 4/10 for me.

Hilarious! The Bad Buddy Derangement Syndrome. #Snigger. Personally, I didn't find her loathsome, because all her antics were pretty much knocked back by Kohei. However, what I did dislike was her continued "poor, poor, me and the cards life has dealt me." Additionally, she had way too much screen time at the detriment of our leads romance.
Now, you're just being pedantic. Admit it! #Snigger #JustSayin'. However, happy to give you another lesson in the English language. Similar means you can use this word to replicate another, hence why a Thesaurus exists.
That's good to hear. Alas, you are incorrect about the word irony and I quote the Oxford English Dictionary...
Dictionary Definitions from Oxford Languages ironic - adjective using or characterised by irony. "his mouth curved into an ironic smile" Similar: sarcastic sardonic dry
Ironic and sarcastic mean exactly the same thing. Actually, the English dictionary states it as "being the opposite of what the person meant." Also, he didn't assume it is bad, because he watched it and his opinion is it is bad. Honestly, don't take it seriously, he's just being playful.
Episode 11:Maya the Midget is perhaps the most annoying/unnecessary side character I've encountered in a BL. And…
Oh, man, you never fail to make me laugh out loud! "Maya the Midget." "Get a freaking hearing aid and shut up!" Hilarious. Utterly hilarious.
100% in agreement with you on the fade out of the developing romance and the questions you've asked. At this point, I don't even understand why it had a romance tag!
