If there's this level of hate. I'd say the writer did a brilliant job in portraying a character. It's the person who edited and posted the video that is the psychopath! After all, this is a work of fiction.

Loved reading this from your perspective. Really interesting. Taught me a lot.

They don't communicate at all. And their relationship development ceased to be a focus halfway through. Weird.
100% agree.

ugh. Maya can suck it. :D I find her character a complete waste of time that should be going to the MC relationship,…
I think she was introduced to put a spanner in the works in their relationship. However, I found it quite amusing watching everything negative she had to say about Taichi, Kohei immediately responded with a killer line of positivity. I loved watching her squirm. I also think she was madly in love with Kohei. Like she said: "He's just like me."

I can't get my head around how such an intelligent race, lack basic communication skills...and yes, it drives me nuts too! I always like how your brain thinks, I just took it as a given that his mother wouldn't say anything. Hell, I recently learnt that it is rare for Japanese people to say "I love you." So, I didn't expect her to deal with his obvious emotional upset, irrespective of the fact that her son was distressed.

I think this drama spectacularly failed in the romance department, which to me is an utter travesty as it could have been so beautiful.

I'm really enjoying the writing of this drama. It's beautifully tight, creatively tight to budget, to the point where I feel each and every sentence and scene has been thoughtfully thought through.

I feel like I'm watching a stage drama like 180 Degrees Longitude Passes Through Us, but oh so much better. That drama, for me, went too far into the whole stage dramatics. This writer really knows what they're doing in the limited time they've been given. However, I find myself chuckling that they're actually telling the same story, three times over, with alternative nuances! WTAF! A tad lazy me thinks! Push yourself. You know how to write -so push yourself! Thai BL writers could learn a lot from you. #JustSayin'

However, our leads are seriously delivering. These men can act and own their characters, to the point where I find myself fixated on what I believe they'll say and indeed do next - especially in terms of Dae Yeong and the third wheel.

I find Japanese dramas of this ilk so beautiful but so utterly frustrating. In the most part, I adore Japanese BL's, as I've said numerous times on this here forum. No one. And, I mean no one, writes likes the Japanese. I adore them for this, as they in the main, stay true to their culture and values. Quirky as fuck!

However, and this is a BIG however for me. Why oh why, does such a hugely intelligent nation find it so damn difficult to simply have a chat about anything emotional? The head fuck must be huge on each individual holding in oh so many feelings and emotions. How can a nation be at the forefront / cutting edge of a category like technology, which the world praises them for. Yet, and this is a big yet in my brain, doesn't know how to communicate with someone they allegedly love? It may be because I'm watching so many Japanese BL dramas at the moment - the most I've watched in any sitting since I joined this forum, but nearly all of them are the same. "I can't communicate with you, to tell you my real feelings and thoughts, so I'll suck it up for the rest of my days." Don't get me wrong, I do get it, but wouldn't it be lovely to see a different side that has evolved and showcases them today?

My brain can't help screaming, why didn't Taichi tell Kohei what his plans were for leaving school? How utterly beautiful would that have been to the narrative?! Why was the 'why' question not asked between them both? Tell me any friend who wouldn't ask you that question? Unbelievable.

Contrary to others, I don't dislike Maya - I think she's been beautifully written and in the Japanese style. However, I can't help but feel cheated by her screen time at the detriment of our leads.

Do I think the writer has done a good job? "Could be better springs to mind." However, I think it's thoughtfully written aside from the romance, to make for thought-provoking viewing.

Have to say though...the film was so much better. "Silhouette of Your Voice (2017)

Love this comment. This has been happening a lot in the 'lighter' Japanese BL's of late and especially in Takara's Treasure, almost to the point of utter distraction.

So hear you! Yes, if they worked on the shadow issue, I too think our leads would have passed, but rolling out History 4 guy was a step too far for me. Beyond unbelievable and too damn funny! 🤣

BRAVO again JG! You said it all much better than I tried to above. When Takara pulled Taishin onto his lap, I…
You remain utterly hilarious in my mind. Your thought process never fails to make me laugh. You're brutal in your analogies, but usually completely spot on in your thought process! I love this. Keep it coming, as it keeps me entertained.

I honestly don't mind the lack of any bonking occurring, as this show isn't about that. What I absolutely despise is as you point out, what the actual fuck was the writer wanting to depict in that whole scene with Taishin sitting on Takara's lap - it just spanked to me (oh if only, some spanky, spanky time!) of a lost opportunity to showcase their growing closeness with a beautiful dialogue.

I just didn't understand the whole stay over and then cut to morning scene! What was the point? What did it add to the story? Absolutely nothing. I feel the writer is immature, a woman, who simply hasn't got the experience or courage to portray gay men. Another opportunity lost.

I have to agree with you. This show is beyond, beyond fluffy, but to the point where it has become totally unbelievable. I'm simply not the target audience for this level of childish stupidity.

I'll admit, I found episodes 1 & 2 boring as hell. It felt like the entire focus was on Taiwanese studying culture. However, 3 & 4 made for excellent, creative and thoughtful writing and directing. I can absolutely tell that this is written by the writer of The Untamed and also that it is directed by Liu Kuang Hui, the director of one of my favourite and most memorable BL's - Your Name Engraved Herein.

I especially enjoyed the scene with Uncle Mute (how fucking inappropriate though to call a human this name in this day and age). That whole scene really resonated with me in its subtlety and the way they looked after him. The grumpy uncle, whose not really grumpy, brought that whole scene together, making food and them all enjoying lunch together.

However, I have to say. I continue to find it beyond jarring that they have 28 & 29 year old men, playing high school boys. That make-up artist seriously needs a talking to. With the millions of make-up products in this here universe, how can they not realistically disguise a man's stubble effectively?! Sheng Wang's is especially terrible, and in EP 4, what was going on in the corners of his mouth? Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, they have the audacity to role out An Jun Peng, from History 4, who is a grown arse 30-years old man, to play a high-schooler - I actually laughed out loud at this point. The Casting Director was obviously at the end of their tether at this point.

Anyways, looking forward to EP 5, as the story feels like it navigating and narrating beautifully.

Agree. It is seriously every kind of bad. I’d really like to see Mos and Bank leave this network and their agency, because whomever is advising them is doing an astonishingly bad job and an excellent job at ruining their careers.
